I have had four other clippers now and these clippers are phenomenal. I really wished I would have gotten these before I bought the other four. They are so good that I even have people asking to borrow them from me. They may be out of your price range a little bit but they are definitely worth the extra bucks. I cut three standard poodles with them once a month and have now had them for almost a year. I give it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!
*They have extra power so it makes it easier to use.

Before purchasing this product, I purchased an expensive Andis clipper from Petsmart. Unfortunately, it didn't work properly right out of the box. Petsmart took it back...no problems there.
So, I decided to purchase the Oster Powermax instead. After researching it online, I found that this one had great reviews. So, I decided to give it a try. My Shih Tzu is very skittish and freaked out when I powered up the Andis. Boy, was I surprised at how quiet this one was compared to the Andis. After I powered it up, she walked right up to it and started sniffing it. So, that was a huge relief.
I have never groomed a dog before, but was willing to give it a try since I have a Bichon and a Shih Tzu that need grooming every 6 weeks. That gets expensive quickly. I figured that even if I cut them once on my own that it has pretty much paid for itself.
I used it today for the first time on my Shih Tzu. Wow! I only used the low speed and it cut right through her very thick hair. I was expecting for her to look very choppy since I don't have any experience. But, she actually looks really good. Then, I used them to cut the hair on my Bichon's legs. Just wanted to see how it would cut her very curly hair. Once again...great results.
I am really, REALLY pleased with these clippers. They cost less than the A5 and get better reviews. They truly have exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that I didn't purchase these first. However, if I had, I probably wouldn't realize how great these are. So, if you are on the fence about which brand/model to purchase (like I was), then I assure you that you will be extremely pleased with these.
Pros: quiet, cut great, long cord, two speeds, antimicrobial blades
Cons: none
