Great Product,

"This product is fabulous and our dog loves it as the water is constantly circulating which keeps the water cool and fresh. It's large size allows for less fill ups. The location in which the water flows is elevated from the ground minimizing in floor dirt which keeps the unit cleaner in comparison to if the water was 'dish' like and closer to the floor, in my opinion.
After buying similar products I am exceptionally happy that we finally found this waterer.
Two negative comments though... although the cobalt blue is a nice shade, I wish this item came in a variety of colors as it clashes with my home decor. Also, it's size seemed to intimidate my two cats. Really though, considering what a well functioning product it is and that there apparently is a cat version of this out there, I am very happy with this purchase and would absolutely recomend it."

Best Money We Ever Spent!,
August 24, 2009
by ChunkyMonkeyDunkeyDoo
from the South
Pros: easy to use Cons: can be hard to clean, initial setup is a bit tricky
"This is a great pet water fountain, we also have the CatIt but now that we have this bigger one, everyone uses it. If you have the CatIt and are thinking this one is simlair, be prepared to be surprised! It's more or less the same principle, but there are many more parts to assemble and disassemble when you clean and refill it. Here are some snags I've ran into while owning the DogIt and what I did to fix it: 1. The water bowl is full, but the fountain won't bubble: Try wiggling the the bowl around on the base a bit, and make sure you hear the water drain into the base. Also, make sure the small silver piece on the top of the bowl (where the water bubbles out) is screwed on straight. 2. The water fountain is louder than normal: You need to refill it, and while you're at it, go ahead and take it all apart and clean it really well- we have seven cats and a dog and I clean and refill it about once every five or so days. BTW- please PLEASE do yourself and your pals a favor and get a water fountain cleaning brush set, they're like $10 or so but they're sooo worth it! Make sure you scrub down the very center of the fountain where the water comes up to bubble (remove the silver piece in the very top middle to get to this area) otherwise you might have that pink junky stuff start to grow and who wants to drink that stuff! ICK! The cord on this thing is pretty long and even with the plug we use being high on the wall, we really haven't had a problem with anybody chasing or chewing on the cord (the cord protector thing helps). Oh and make sure you check the red/white charcoal filter, I guess I wasn't paying attention very well but I put it in the way I took it out the first time I took it apart to clean it before I used it, the red side faces the center of the fountain and the pump. Also, there are small diagonal groove things on one side of the pump, check this each time you refill and remove any pet hair or crud that may be on it, that can also cause the water not to bubble as well (maybe it's just because we have so many pets, but just about the time the water gets really low and it quits bubbling, that little part on the pump is just junked up with fur and food). All in all, with a bit of patience for some occasional troubleshooting, this is a great investment for your pet. We tried the auto water thing, with the water cooler receptical deal on top, we tried just plain bowls and changing out the water daily but I wouldn't go back to either of those because now I know my little ones have fresh clean cool water whenever they want and their health and happiness are priceless!"

Love This Fountain,
April 9, 2009
by wndrful
from Texas
Pros: works for dogs and cats of varying sizes, provides pets access to cool clean water
"This fountain is awesome. It is a great height for my lab and my border collie and the fountain stream is great for my cat. They drink more water and it is no longer a fight to keep them away from the toilet.
Some assembly required, seems complicated at first, but once you get it--it is pretty easy. I try to thoroughly clean it --break it down into smallest parts--at least every two weeks. Once a week is best, but even after 2 it was not gross. the pre filter helps to keep the carbon filter clean of hair and food gunk.
If you put the water bowl on and the fountain does not come up within a minute or two, realign to be sure it is set in the right place. Humming occurs as the water level is getting low. For the most part it is fairly quiet. Sometimes it is silent, sometimes it is a soft fountain sound.
Has been a great investment in my pets care."

great fountain,

"This is an ideal fountain especially if you have more than one large dog and are forever finding the water bowl empty. I have four big dogs and a shihtzu and have to fill this approximately weekly. The water is constantly in motion so no funky growth in water. Probably the best thing about it is the bowl smack dab in the middle. When the dogs go to slurp they don't splash it everywhere!"
