This was very fun to do but don't expect it to be true! Be careful to judge your good friend with these results. I have a very small breed that weighs 6lbs. The results were Bernese Mouintain Dog, German Shorthaired Pointer, English Setter, English Springer Spaniel, Pug, Keeshond.
Now I could of done better just by description. It is true, that her exact breed might not have been in the data base but it looks like they just threw a bunch of breed names in a hat and drew. If you have $60 to throw away then it's a kick!
Pros: good laugh
Cons: not valid

While less expensive then other DNA testing services I have been able to find, the test results are mixed. Their database of Dog DNA is rather limited, so their is a very good chance your test results will turn out to be inaccurate Unfortunately they do not mention this on the box, you will only find it out by visiting their website before you buy or once you buy and read the pamphlet inside the box. Their breed list only covers about 60 or 70 breeds, and if their results do not match any of those breeds, they simply assign the "closest" match when they send your results.
An Example, we tested out short haired, short legged 35 pound dog who resembles a Corgi, the results they gave us listed 3 very tall, long haired, large breed dogs, and a German Shepard.
If you want to test a dog that you are already pretty sure about, this test would probably be good to verify your belief. But if you have a dog that your clueless about, its to much of a gamble for 60 bucks. Chances are if you and your vet cant ID them by looks, then they will not be able to by DNA.
Pros: cost vs's other tests
Cons: limited breeds in their database

We tested our rescue dog (we were told she was a lab mix when we got her) and learned that she is a combination of three tiny breeds, all less than 20 lbs. We are very confused since, at 8 mos., she weighs over 40 lbs. This test left us with more questions than we started with. We are hoping more breeds will be added soon, so that we can get more accurate results.

We are very impressed and pleased with the results. Belle is obviously mostly German Shepherd, and the results came back as such. We also suspected some kind of hound because of certain behaviors/characteristics... possibly sight or scent. It came back indicating smaller percentages of both greyhound and basset. Some of her fur characteristics and the blue coloration on her tongue represents the chow.
Pros: provides health info and explains characteristics.
Cons: unable to give a closer percentage on breakdowns

I have a 2 year old dog we adopted from a humane society and was told he was a lab mix (2 toned yellow/cream coat). We suspected lab/german shephard/greyhound but had no clue. results came back level 2 german shephard level 4 german shorthair pointer and bull terrier level 5 greyhound and westie! we were happy but not shocked at the results! have found out humane society and rescue places can 'label' a dog to get adopted faster reguardless of actual breeds known. ~it worked ~we adopted a lab but would have hesitated adopting a german shephard with a small child in the house!
Pros: fast easy and i believe accurate
Cons: none

Please reconsider buying this product. Although the company warns that DNA results may not be what you expect, I could not believe learning that my cattle dog was considered (by them) to have mostly Yorkshire Terrier DNA! I mean come on. If you want to spend $60+ for fun without having any investment in the results buy this product, but if you really want to know your dog's DNA make-up I would think twice about buying this item.

I was very satisfied with the test results of the DNA test. I recently adopted a Black lab mix from North Shore Animal League. I was not sure what the mix part is. The test confirmed that my Dog is 75% lab. Although I am still not sure what the other 25% is. I would defiently recommend this test to friends & Family.
