I have a 1 year old female Pit/Bulldog/Shepherd mix (bad combo if you're a toy!) She ruins most toys in seconds flat! This bone has lasted her 6 months and counting and she still loves it! I have tried so many toys by so many brands and so far, this and deer/elk antlers have been my saving grace because she can chew on them for hours and I don't have to watch her like a hawk to make sure she doesn't swallow pieces of plastic. The extreme Kong has held up well too but I have to watch her because she gets pieces off and swallows them if I'm not quick enough to get them out of her mouth. (Oh, and my chihuahua loves it too! She constantly steals it from my Pit mix!)

My lab is an enthusiastic, but very picky, chewer. He LOVES this! He's still young, so he's a bit destructive when he's bored - not anymore! This has saved my sanity... and his hide. =) I love the nylabone products, but this beast keeps him BUSY. LOVE it!

My Pitbull mix toy destroying machine likes to finish his day chewing on this big bone before bedtime, and he makes them a real project. Bones last, don't splinter or break, but they aren't a toy. He will chew it down to small size, but the 1st one lasted a good 3 months, and the 2nd one is heading into month two in good shape.

It's the only thing we've bought for the boy that he likes that has lasted longer than a couple of days without constant supervision.

It's a perfect topper after a long day spent sleeping and destroying and eating, don't you know!

Great for the chewing dog

My dog loves this bone. He is a constant chewer and this will keep him occupied for months. They are built quite well to prevent any splitting or breakage. It is very heavy and my dog has a habit of dropping it on our toes and flinging it when he plays. Also little shavings as he chews will collect on the ground. It also collects dirt and hair over time but it's easily washable. Since my dog has a sensitive stomach and can't eat rawhides, this is a great alternative as well.

Destroyed most every other toy but this one!

My 8 month old Dachshund/Pit Bull mix loves to chew so when I saw that this toy was for powerful chewers I hoped it was the one for us. I was worried that the toy would be too big for my 30 pound pup (it's recommended for dogs 50+ I think), but I had nothing to be worried about. Katy loves this toy and it's saved us a lot of grief. We've had it for about four months now and she still plays with it. It's also a great distraction when she wants to chew on momma's hands. She'll actually play with the toy by herself though. She likes to throw it up in the air and run around before finally settling down to content herself with chewing. Couldn't recommend this more highly!

I have an active beagle mix who will chew on anything that he is not suppose to. He loves all new toys but gets bored with them shortly and won't ever play with them again. He LOVES this bone. Thank goodness because I've stopped giving him bone chews because he needs to lose weight and he loves this bone as much as the rawhides. He will gnaw on it for a good half hour from time to time. He doesn't use it everyday but he does use it often. It has held up for months now. It's perfect for any dog and you can wash it too. I stick mine in the dishwasher and it comes out super clean. Only downfall is, you wouldn't wand your dog to drop it on your toe because it is rock hard and it's really loud on hard floors.

Pros: durable, Keeps Pet Entertained, easy to wash

We got this bone for our active (to say the least) lab. She loves it. She picks it up and throws it. She does destroy them overtime, but they still last about 1-2 months. The older she gets, the longer they last. Shaving of the bone will get everywhere, and they stick to your socks. Also, don't step on the bone, it hurts a lot. Over the lifetime of the bone, it picks up hair and other debris on the ground. A quick wash of the bone will clean it up. Overall I'd say this will be a longtime favorite of our lab.

My Anatolian Shepherd has destroyed nearly everything within hours, but not this bone!

Going back to pick up a few more - definitely worth the price if you count the previously destroyed items and the time it takes to replace them...

I have a medium-large size lab who can chew through just about anything. So far, this toy has lasted the longest by far. He chews on it for hours every day and all that happens is it gets rough where he chews it (it's supposed to). It's pricey for a toy, but that money was very well spent!!

My Bull Mastiff destroyed several "big dog" chew toys. This included the "Tire Biter" brand made from rubber tires..which she ate in two days. We have had the "Big Chew" for two weeks now with little damage to it. Great Item for dogs that will destroy most dog toys, furniture, etc.!!

When i first got this bone, i thought it might be too big for my 47 lb boxer/lab mix. Well, that was a stupid thought. She loves this bone and it has barely shown the effect of 2 months of daily chewing.

I have tried the smaller versions of this and found that my 27 lb rat terrier x (he is a very strong chewer) and 50 lb collie shepherd x were able to chew it down to a dangerously small size. This one is quite large but my terrier is still able to chew on it. This is very durable and lasts MUCH longer than the smaller ones! My dogs have had them since December and the ends are only slightly worn. Great product! Easily there favourite toy/chew!
