"i bought this yesterday for my cat after reading all the reviews for it and he is absolutely gaga over it! and i am pleasantly surprised at how much he will use it, i figured he would play with the ball and ignore the scratcher part cause he has never seemed that interested in other scratcher toys or items but he just can't get enough of it. over all its a great toy and i wish i had bought this one from the very beginning for him instead of wasting money on any thing else that he played with for maybe once or twice and grew tired of."

"My cat wouldn't play with any of the other toys I bought her except for catnip mice. I bought this just to try it and am so glad I did. She is addicted to it and is finally starting to lose some weight. The star chaser is better than the regular chaser because the ball doesn't have a bell in it and is lighter, so it moves more quickly and easily. Even though my cat wouldn't play with a laser pointer if you paid her, she likes the LED flashing light because it creates more of an illusion of movement on the ball. I still have hopes she will use the center as a scratcher as well as a standing place. The toy is a little noisy in the same room but in a different room you can barely hear it. My cat has gotten more friendly with other people now that she isn't bored all the time too. This toy is fantastic!"

"I was a little skeptical about buying this toy. My cat had abandoned her cat tower & scratcher so I needed to get her something less expensive. My cat loves this toy and is now the only thing she scratches. She even goes to sit on it if she thinks I'm going near it. We've had it for 6 months now and have only needed to replace the cardboard once. The led ball is still working fine."

"I have three cats and they all love this toy! I was skeptical at first but it ended up being their favorite toy and scratching area. The ball that lights up is a bigger hit than the ball that doesn't blink. I would highly recommend this product!"

"We bought the Star Chaser for our 1 year old torti kitty & she loves it - plus her 10 year old orange brother thinks it is great too (see video clip)! The first time we set the toy out they both played actively with it for quite awhile - great way to keep them (& us) entertained plus they get some exercise."

Pros: the best toy
"I purchased this product accidentally. I thought I was picking up a second Turbo Chaser and, after arriving home, I wondered why it was opaque. I then discovered that the other difference was the LED ball and was very pleased as were my rescues. I have purchased many, many replacement scratchers and I purchased the toy in 2008. I have replaced my other 2 Bergan chasers with LED balls as this increases their interest. I love this company as it is a small company in the U.S.A. This is what I look for and they seem to be a great bunch of people. I have Precious and the Trubo Chaser on that review. Check it out! My rescues cannot play with these enough. The Chasers are definitely their favorite toys!!"

"I recently adopted 2 kittens from the shelter and to make them feel at home, I purchased some of the same toys they had at the shelter. Watching the kittens all try to play with this, I knew I had to get it. My kittens LOVE this toy and so do I as I can hit the ball also and play with them. The ball does not come out, so no worry there. In the center is a place where they can also use as a scratching area. This is hours of fun!"

"Turbo Scratchers are the best invention ever! These are so great that I use them at home and at the animal shelter I work at. Cats love to roll the ball around the track so it's a great toy for them but since it also has the cardboard center, it give a great scratching surface. Put a little catnip in the middle and the cats go wild! Each cardboard insert can be flipped over to provide 2 scratching surfaces when they rip up the first side and you can buy new inserts for it when they rip up the second side. Great buy!!!"

"I spent quite a bit of money the other day on toys for my new kitten. She's looked at the ones I got, but hasn't been all that interested (in fact, she's more interested in the box the toys came in!)
But, this toy was a WINNER! She played with it last night for hours! It keeps her busy and gives her some exercise (ie, wears her out, so she'll sleep a bit!) Plus, it has a scratching thingy in the middle of it that she loves.
I highly recommend this toy."

"I bought this when I got my new kitten because the scratch pad we have is pretty small. I must say it's the best purchase I've ever made where my cats are concerned. The kitten loves it. My 8 year old cat loves it. And the best part is my roommate's 1 and a half year old Sheltie loves it. The three of them will sit around this thing and bat the ball around. The light up ball is awesome. The kitten will hit it once to get it to light up and then wait until it stops blinking before he hits it again. When i first got it, I was worried the light wasn't working but after a minute or two of spinning it, it lit up. I definitely recommend this product."
