This toy is a waste of a money. My cats loved it until the mouse kept dying. Not something I would recommend to buyers.

My cats loved it until, it kept dying. It would drain brand new batteries just to charge the muse and then change the batteries again. It's a waist of money, please don't buy this customers. My cats love it until it stops and they give me a look as in they are telling me, why did it stop mom. I am returning it tomorrow.

It's battery operated but you have to charge the mouse with the controller and it dies fast. When fully charged it moves but quickly stops to move forward and only moves backwards. Don't waste your money on this. It gets one star because I couldn't left it empty!

I was excited to let my kitty play with this toy. She was very interested in it. However it worked for like 2 seconds and then died. I was using it on our kitchen floor. She played with it on her own for a bit: tossing it in the air and batting it around. When she lost interest I charged it again and it worked for like 2 seconds and then died. I'm very disappointed in this toy. She likes the fact that it moves but it dies so quickly!! Plus hair gets all jammed in the wheels and then the wheels don't spin. Not a good quality toy.

Bought this for an 8 month old kitten. Once I placed the batteries inside the charger, the back cover did not fit properly and would not completely close. I charged the mouse for over 6 hours (it was reccommended to be charged for 3 hours). The kitten seemed to be quite amused with the mouse and we had fun for approx. 20 minutes. That is when the batteries were completely dead and the mouse would no longer work. I did find difficulty with the push button to move the mouse back and forth- It would not barely move and would stick in position that you did not choose. Very annoying. I re-charged using brand new, fresh batteries overnight and tried again the next day. Same thing. Completely drained in under 15 minutes. Took back to Petsmart store and returned for full refund. Horrible quality item.

Right out of the gate we should have known this toy would be a bust- the battery cover for the remote control kept falling off. Then the wheels clogged up with cat hair within 5 minutes (and I would say we have little to no cat hair on the floor, and besides, what cat owner doesn't have even a little?) and wouldn't move at all. Took some tweezers and pulled it out (really wasn't that much), and tried again. Clogged up again five minutes later. Oh well, cats thought it was ridiculous anyway- they just looked at it and walked away.

First, it breaks within 5 minutes. Now mine will only go left - can't go straight or right. Something broke in the wheel gear, not sure how or why. Second, the cats didn't play with it - they just watched it run around the floor and me pick it up when it got stuck somewhere. Good idea, but not constructed well.

Between the wheels getting locked up (& therefore stopping the movement), & having to recharge it every 8 minutes, both you and your cat will get fed up and put this toy back in the toy bin...
Great concept but poorly designed.
Takes a lot on the part of the owner to use this. Nice idea but they need to find a way so that hair and lint doesn't jam up the wheels. And make it so one doesn't have to recharge it pls!

Never Worked

My spouse brought this home from PetSmart (at full price) before I was able to provide him with the review. He would not have purchased it had he known of the poor rating.
We installed the batteries, charged it up, then ran it for all of about 30 seconds. The cat did not have time to even determine if he had any interest! The toy died. We attempted to recharge it. No luck. We checked the batteries by swapping them out. No difference. It is now sitting on the counter awaiting trash day. What a disappointment. Do not waste your money.

I boght this today along with several other interactive toys. Neither my male or female Maine Coon is the least bit interested in it. I did not have the battery life problems or any other problems that others have described. I am actually having fun with this toy even though my cats could care less about it.

I've got this on two separate occasions, hoping the first was just a lemon. My cats absolutely LOVE this toy, and up until it stopped working both times it was hands down their favorite toy to date. However that's where the good stop and the bad takes over.
After charging the batter was good for maybe 1min, 3min was the longest (don't know how it happened), and then it would need to be recharged. It's not very fast, but the cats don't mind that so much, but they do mind that it doesn't run for long after being charged. One of my cats loves to drag this around and drop it down the carpeted steps, or throw it up in the air and watch it fall (on the carpet). After doing this for a short while, on several play sessions the mouse stopped working. I know it's a very inexpensive radio controlled toy, but come on how about making it a bit more rugged? It is designed to be played with by cats afterall. What cat casually and carefully plays with a mouse? Not mine.
As much as I would love to keep buying these for my cats, at generally 15 bucks a pop, there are other toys that last longer that work just fine. If you have an old cat that doesn't really play like a normal cat this might work for you, but if you've got a spunky cat that loves to really "play" with his/her toys, you might want to try something more rugged.
Pros: cats love it
Cons: 1-3min play time per charge, rubber wheels don't stay on long, internal workings break with regular cat useage

My cat really loved this product, but unfortunately the toy was so cheaply made it broke constantly. The little rubber wheels would continuously fall off which made it impossible for the mouse to move. Finally, the toy broke completely when a piece of cat hair got wrapped around one of the gears (I couldn't remove it).
If the manufacturer's put a little more work into the toy it'd be amazing. My first suggestion is to fix the darn wheels!
Pros: cats love it!
Cons: cheaply made, breaks often, not worth price

not only was I dissapointed that the batteries died so fast, but my male cat was so into it that he somehow broke it as well, it seemed like such a waste of money, even for $15 it was only a 5 min amusement. They need to make things in better quality because some cats like to play very aggressively, especially when they are really enjoying themselves. As for my female cat...she was just scared of it.

My kitty LOVED this toy but it didn't last. My kitty broke the first one in 10 minutes. I assumed it was a defective product so I brought another one, which lasted only 25 minutes. I wish it would have been able to withstand my 3 month old kitten's energy.

I was probably more excited about this toy than my cat when I got it in the mail. I quickly opened it, read the instructions, charged the mouse... waiting, waiting, waiting... it took more than 15 min to get everything ready to go. Finally I set it on the ground and for about 10 seconds, it worked fantastically. The mouse when forward, backward, left, right. Then without warning,....putt, putt, putt... the motor started to grunt. It'd start, then stop, start, then stop in spurts. My cat looked at the mouse, looked at me, and yawned.
She lost interest quickly and spent the rest of the afternoon playing with the paper and cardboard box that the toy had been shipped in. :p
Such a cute idea, but boy did it fail miserably in execution. This toy is definitely going BACK to the store where it belongs.
Pros: cute good directionality when toy actually moves
Cons: unwieldy controller poor motor short playtime

I agree with the other reviewers. My kitten LOVED this thing when it worked, but it only ran for a minute or two then needed recharging. The second day was worse and by the third day, it didn't want to move at all. Great concept - poor quality!
