I have a cat that is a bit fussy on the toys he will and will not play with. He loves this toy, and it is quite sturdy and has lasted a lot longer than many of the toys I have bought him.

One of my cats loves this. People have posted that the feathers come out too easily, but I think that is what my cat loves about it - ripping out the feathers.

My kitten loves these toys and never gets bored with them. Some of the feathers have come off, but I think that's just part of general "wear and tear". Since the feathers are attached with velcro tabs, does that mean there are replacements for the feathers? I didn't see them at the location I purchased these, and just wanted to know if that is available. If so, these toys would get an extra "star" in my rating.

I have one cat that absolutely loves this toy. He found one about a year ago without the feathers and began carrying it everywhere with him. It took me a while to figure out that there were feathers originally attached to the toy, so I could buy him a spare (not a product issue, but a cat-losing-toy issue--these seem to be indestructable). I had tried replacing it with other ball toys, and even tried gluing velcro to one, but he just doesn't like them as much. He even hides it from my other cats. He doesn't seem to like the feathers much, but I just pull those off and give them to his sisters (who love feathers), so it is like getting two toys in one.

I got a pair for my cat, and she absolutely loved this toy! She kept playing with it all day long, and it was so much fun to watch her. However, I cannot say the good things about its quality. At the end of the day, ALL of the feathers were gone! Next day, I gave her the second toy, and once again, she ripped all of the feathers quite easily. So now only the bases left, and she likes to pounce them from time to time. I would like to get a second pair, but I am not buying as I fear that they will be destructed in two days...

I wasn't sure I bought the "12 needs of cats" line, but my indoor cats love these toys and indeed carry them around in their mouths as I've seen outdoor cats do with real birds and mice.
The feathers are starting to fall off after a week, but it actually lasted longer than some other feather toys so I'm not sure if that's always a problem with feathers. Because there's still something left to the toy after the feathers are chewed, they still play with it sometimes.

I pulled one of these out and my kitten took a while to get into it. However, when she did, she was insane! She demolished one of the toys within the first day. There was fluff coming out from where the feathers attach. Within 2 months, she has now destroyed the feathers on the second one, but still plays with the base.
Before I got these, my cat would choose to gnaw on my fingers or arm when the teething got to be too much. But after, she would just play with these.
It was well worth the money even though they are a bit more expensive than most toys.
Pros: cat loved it, would definitely buy again, good for teething kittens
Cons: didn't last very long

I foster kittens and have several full time adult cats, and every single one of them LOVES these toys. They're *very* well made (you won't find tiny feathers aren't lying all over your house in two hours even with five rambunctious kittens). It's a riot to watch them pounce and wrestle with the toys, and if you have a single cat, it will give them lots of good solitary play time. They may seem a bit more expensive than similar products but they are well worth it!
Pros: good quality - well constructed, cats/kittens love them, last much longer than similar products

I loved batting and throwing these all over the place. It was better than playing with my tail. I had hours and hours of fun with these.
