I have been breeding cockatiels and budgies forover 20 years and thought I give this diet a try. The results are not desirable. I used to feed my birds a diet of seed, 10% pellet and 25% veggies but when I sitched them to these pellets their feather condition started to get worse, they took longer to molt out and I started to see breeding problems with my hens( clear eggs, eggs not hatching from pairs that were doing great the years before and were well rested).
I do not like that this diet has corn as a main ingredient - corn is not a natural food source for australian birds - the reason it is commonly used in pellets is that it is cheap - most corn is genetically altered and highly contaminated with pesticides - same with soy crops - no wonder the vets are seeing an increasing amount of liver and kidney trouble in caged birds - I have raised birds on seeds and greens for over 20 years and never has a single bird with health issue other than an occasional injury and I never had a single egg bound hen ( unless my friend who has her birds on pellets full time)

I have 3 green cheek conures, and I used to feed them a seed diet. I read somewhere that not only was this unhealthy, but that you could actually get them to be more friendly by switching them to a pellet diet and treating them with sunflower seeds and other high fat seeds occasionally. I used another fruit type before this, and although they loved it, it made their droppings colorful, and it also stained everything they went on. I also read that this food has more natural ingredients and is better for their health than the colorful food. I worried they might not like going from something that was like fruit loops to something like cheerios, but they all readily adapted to the new food very well. I now hide some of their food, which I understand helps them since they would have to forage in the wild, not just have food presented to them. It is a little pricey, but it is worth it for their good health. And they don't seem to waste as much as they did with the fruit type.

I first got these as a sample from the company and noticed a significant change in the health of my two parakeets (for the better!)
I was wondering what I was going to do when the samples ran out, since I didn't want to order online. Surprise! My local Petsmart carries this now! Yay! The parakeets loved the crumble (better than other pellet brands), but my Petsmart only carried the mini pellets. I might have to crush them up, we'll see. My keets aren't picky eaters, but they really really enjoyed these. Only down side is the high price, but you get what you pay for. The quality makes up for the price.

My bird Buster has been very resistant to eating pellets; she does, however eat these Roundybush pellets. She tosses some out, but at least she does eat some.

Previously I resided in Lycoming County and always purchased Roudybush bird pellet. However, when I moved to Luzeren I couldn't find it anywhere, and believe me not all pellet is the same.
So I was thrilled when Pet Smart finally began carring it in the store......and my birds are thrilled too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a senegal, a myers, and a timneh grey, and they all love this stuff. they like the large and xtra large pellets...its so funny watching the little guys hold and eat the big pellets. they get a friut/veggie with some seeds as well, and I mix the roudybush with some pretty bird for African parrots. they eat it all, but the roudybush is for sure a favorite.
It's a pity they don't sell the larger size here

I have three budgies and a cockatiel. They are parakeets from Australia and benefit from a diet of seeds AND pellets (along with fresh food).
My birds took to roudybush right away. They eat the crumbles size, and absolutely love it.
They don't contain dyes or flavoring, and is a healthier option. It is cost effective.
I only wish more locations carried it.

I was worried that my jenday conure might not make the switch from seed to pellet, but he liked these the very 1st day. On the negative side he wastes a lot of them - seems he likes to just crumble them up.

I tried to get my 2 very finicky budgies to switch over to Zupreem, but they wouldn't go for it. I was getting concerned that my younger bird, Gizmo (only 1.5 years old) was overeating and gaining too much weight, so I tried the RoudyBush crumbles. They were a little cautious the first day, nibbling at it, but not sure they were actually eating it. By day 3, they were eating it right up and now seem to love it! The only reason I give it 4 stars for Nutrition is that I think ANY captive bird should have a variety of foods, not just straight pellets, seeds, etc. I give them millet snacks once a week, along with fresh veggies, lettuce, and wheat grass. Your bird may not eat it due to the size, as I originally had tried the small pellets, and they didn't like them, but the crumbles seem to be the right size & texture that appeals to their picky nature!
Pros: easy to store, no waste
Cons: hard to find in anything but the 12oz. size

I wish they would carry my Cockatiel's favorite size (the crumbles) but small seems to be acceptable. The mini pellets are too big for a small bird like my Diamond Dove, so I crush these and he enjoys them that way - "nibles" would be a good size for him. They are crumbly, so birds that do not go for crumbly (but like crunchy pellets - like Zupreem) may not like these. And yet other birds will prefer this texture.
In any case, the brand as a whole is natural and nutritious. I know several Vets who like these. Harrison's is pricier and some birds hate the Harrison's, whereas these seem to be accepted more readily. Nonetheless, patience is the key with converting a seed junkie.
Remember that the best pellet is one your bird may eat. Even if your birds won't go for these, and you want them to eat a health pellet without dyes, try a less common, more flavorful pellet and see if you can 'wean' them on these.

My birds and I love Roudybush. Until recently I had been ordering in bulk online from Quebec and paying through the nose for shipping, so I'm glad that it is now standard in US Petsmarts. Being a boarder dweller its not a big deal for me to cross the boarder and stock up, but it would be fantastic if it was also sold in Canadian stores. Perhaps it will be in the near future. Anyway, my parrots have tried a great number of pellets from Harrisons, Zupreem and Hagen's Tropican and prefer Roudybush hands down. I love that the small pellets work for small to large parrots as it means I don't have to buy large and mini formats for each of my two birds.
Pros: the small size pellets work for most size parrots
Cons: petsmart currently doesn't carry it in bulk

I am so glad that Petsmart is carrying this premium food. It is natually preserved and a great food for parrots. I like the convenience of when I run low I do not have to wait for online orders. Thanks Petsmart for provided a long awaited food for our parrots.
Can't wait until you offer larger sizes.
