All Our Cats Love It

Our cats vary in age from 1 year to about 9 years old. We feed them all together one full scoop to share twice a day. Our cats were on Nutro Natural Choice before this product, but with some financial changes we needed a cheaper but still quality cat food. When we made the switch, a couple of them were a little fussy about the taste, but eventually they got hungry enough to stop being so picky. Now they all gobble it up with gusto!

I think the problem with many of the poor reviews is that they are feeding their cats too much. Indoor, lazier cats don't need much food at all. It's just like human dieting - smaller portions are needed, especially if there's no increase in exercise. We asked our vet about appropriate feeding amounts, and we were told this. Now only two of our cats are chunky, and one of them came that way. He's been slowly dropping the weight. Feeding them smaller portions multiple times a day also helps with the hunger, metabolism spikes, and sensitive tummies.

Our cats still have the occasional hairball. Many of them have beautiful shiny coats with soft fur, but not all. It's a real mix, even though we've been feeding them this food for years for most of them. Stool volume is definitely down from what it would be with a cheap food full of fillers.

I have 4 cats that I switched to this food. My heaviest cat weighs 16 lbs and he did not lose any weight. He also never seemed to get full. Not good for multi-cat households, even though it is an Indoor formula. Maybe switching to a different type of Max Cat would have been better. Decided to try Authority instead.

Pros: never had hairballs, good quality food
