I was nervous to order this as everyone said it breaks. My cat is picky and breaks a lot of toys but this is perfect. He loves this toy and it has not broken. I use it on high speed so when he holds it, he can't hold it too long because it pops out of his paws (and he has claws). He now meows and sits next to it for me to turn it on. He sits so it hits him in the face and then he attacks it. He is a large 11 year old Maine Coon and this is his favorite toy and he has not broken it. I would highly recommend this. If you notice your cat is not letting it go and its on, I would suggest shutting it off to prevent the motor from working to hard and possibly burning out. I am glad I did not listen to the bad reviews and gave it a shot. I would highly recommend it.

As stated by others, the arm snapped off. Petlinks website said it does not offer replacements parts....that's just dumb!

My cats went completely nuts for this toy! But, it's lightweight and they immediately knocked it over and dragged it around. The feather piece also comes right off (even though I secured it as firmly as I could). I'm returning it today and will be searching for this type of toy, but one that is weighted and well made.

Don't buy this. it's not worth it. Apparently it breaks easily if your cats play with it, but I wouldn't know, as mine had no interest whatsoever. She just sat there and let it bonk her in the head for 15 minutes. *Sigh*. Even if your cat is smart enough to chase it, I still would not recommend this toy. It appears very cheaply made, and as others have stated, I can imagine if my cat did play with it, it would break very easily.

No replacable wand

My cats loved this product; but broke it within 3 days of having it- one of them pulled the wand off, breaking the part that hooks onto the base unit. I cannot believe this company still has not made a more durable replacement wand, and different toys to attach to it. So, the cats and I are stuck looking at the wandless toy on a daily basis just sitting there; as much money as I spent on it, I really don't like the idea of just throwing it away. Maybe I can think of a creative way to attach a toy to it.

I have a lot of cats, as I am a rescue. Most of my cats loved it, and watched with anticipation as well. The little feather pops off the spinner pretty often, and I have to place it back for them. Only a bit of feather was pulled off, but there really needs to be replacement toys, not just the feather that comes with the item, but different toys that can fit on the system. If you don't want the toy to pop off you easily, then glueing would seem to be the solution, just wish there were extras for the unit!! Also, have he Panic Mouse toy, and that toy turns over easily, and has the same type problem with the toy. At least this unit is stable, and no turnover. If you'd like to get creative and add your own toy, *which I may do* may add more life to it! And, always put the timer on high! Slow is a waste of time. =) Kitties are smarter than that!

Pros: fun and cute, stable base

Cons: no replacement parts

Reactions from the five cats in the house ranged from fascination to indifference. The most-interested cat ripped the toy off the string within seconds. As other reviewers have mentioned, the attachment between the toy and the string is very weak. After we put the toy back on the string, a couple of the cats played with it briefly before the first cat got a firm grip on it and ripped half of the feathers out of it with little effort. At this point we gave up. This toy seems like a good idea but it is so cheaply made that one of our cats was able to destroy it within a few minutes (and she's not a particularly large cat). This toy is extremely overpriced given its shoddy construction.

Pros: some of the cats liked it

Cons: the cat that liked it the most destroyed it quickl

My cat enjoyed playing with this. If he played too hard, the arm would pull off. The worse part is that all cat owners know the feather part would need replaced occassionally. The box reads as if you can buy replacements. PetSmart does not carry replacements and I cannot find them anywhere on the web or other pet stores I have checked. I paid too much for this toy to be a throw away after 1-2 weeks of my cat playing with it, but that is what I am going to have to do.

Cons: no replacement parts

Our cat loves this toy, but it breaks way to fast! He pulls on the feathers and the plastic conecting piece to the motor falls off. I got so sick of putting it back on that I just super glued it... it doesn't come off anymore! But the feather toy is getting old, and I haven't seen any replacement parts. He likes it I just wish it didn't need any super glue in order to work.

Pros: timer is a great idea, simple to put together and work

Cons: breaks to fast, can't find replacement parts, i had to use super glue to get it to work right

I bought this product about a month ago. The cats loved it. I especially liked setting it for 15 minutes. After that amount of time, the noise of the thing got to me. But 15 minutes was great and it was great knowing it would shut off by itself. The cats loved it. But they quickly figured out how to pull the feather and it's plastic end off of the device. So I started finding it in various places in the house. But I didn't really mind that. The point is for the cats to play, and they were playing. But last week I noticed that the device no longer turned on. I thought the batteries might be dead, but I just replaced them, and it's still not working. So now I guess they'll just be playing with the feather and plastic part.

Pros: timer is a great idea

Cons: cheaply made, expensive considering the quality

The Petlinks System Pure Commotion Electronic Cat Toy kept my cat occupied for about an hour the first day I opened it. Now he plays with it for about 10-15 minutes a day.

This product has many good features such as a fully adjustable speed nob, a push button timer that can be set from 15 minutes to 2 hours (in 15 minutes increments). Takes three "AA" batteries, not sure yet how long they last (I am still on my first set but have only had this product for about a week). This product also hows changeable/replaceable heads for when your little monster destroys it. The heads are not special and pretty much fit any "Petlinks" toy.

Ultimately the product is okay for the money.

Pros: general cat interest

Cons: blue plastic doesn't match my decor.

I thought my cat would love this. She likes the basic teasers, a stick and string. I thought this would be a nice rest for my arm. She showed a little interest right when I opened it but after 5 minutes she was done. So I turned it on...nothing. I even tried putting catnip on it. I like the toy and it is a great idea but my cat just didnt find it very interesting.

My kitten LOVED this toy for the hour that it worked well for her. Like with the other reviews, the rod was broken within an hour and a half of play time. It was great while it lasted! I'm trying to find replacement rods for it, but can't seem to find them. Also, it seems that now even the motor no longer works, either. I really wish they could make this a little more durable, so my three pound kitten would have a harder time destroying it!

Pros: soo entertaining for cat and owner

i work from home, but wind up pretty busy at times, so i got this for my kitten to keep her occupied when i don't have time to play. she loved it for a couple days, but before long at all, the novelty wore off and she didn't pay any attention to it. now if i turn it on, she might play with it for a few seconds, but then she'll just sit and watch it, and eventually walk away. it's pretty noisy and kind of a one-trick pony. a dim cat might get a lot of enjoyment out of it, but i wouldn't recommend it for smart cats that figure out how things work. they'll wind up pretty nonplussed. you're better off getting a cheaper bell-type dangly object to hang from a doorknob.
in regards to what others have said about the top part snapping off, i've had that happen, but it snaps right back on. but who cares if it stays together or not when your cat won't play with it in the first place.

I will start by saying my cat loved this product. I have only had the thing for a few hours and my cat (literally a kitten 5 months old) has bent the metal post and broken off the plastic head where the feather wand attaches to the metal post. It also tips over very easily.

I would recommend this product as is, if you have a cat that lays on his back and waits for it to come around to him and just swats at this lightly. Don't waste your $$.
