Don't buy this

My dog stayed in this the first time I left him in it for about an hour and a half. The second time I left him in it for about two hours, he got out by being able to get one of the doors by unzipping it. The third time I left him in it for about four hours, he got our the same way and them shredded the box that it came in. Total FAIL and a waste of money.
If you want to buy this for travel, then maybe it'll work. Don't consider getting it for home for a dog that weighs 40 pounds or more.

My puppy loves her soft crate. We initially put little treats in it to get her to go in it on her own, and she did. And from there we'd throw a toy she loves in it and now she brings her most of her toys in there as a hiding place.

I ordered the, Pet Gear Home 'N Go Portable Soft Crate, for our new puppy. He uses it as a quiet place and a play area. We took the crate with us when we were out of town and it was nice as the crate folds up easily and is easy to transport and set back up once you are at your destination. There are windows on all sides, and a bag to place puppy's supplies. The only thing that didn't work was puppy chewed the bottom of crate and so he has left his mark on it. It was a good purchase and I would reccommend to others.

It is a good product as far as weight and portablilty. I do wish it had a little less mesh and more canvas.

I work in a dog friendly company. Most of the people who have new puppies have purchased these to keep under their desks or in their work areas so they can bring their new puppies to work with them. I think if you are keeping your pup near you, the soft sides should not be a problem. When I leave my pet at home, the steel crate is the way we go.

I bought I believe the extra large or large kennel for my husky mix. He did great in it when he was a pup, but when he got older he was able to paw the zipper and unzip the doors. I used velcro ties to keep the zipper shut but my dog pawed the inside material so much he tore holes through the canvas and door. So after about 5 months of use it was tossed in the trash. But maybe you're lucky and your pup isn't as sneaky as mine. I loved how compactly it folded and was fairly light weight. I would buy it again if it was houdini proof.

Purchased this item while it was on clearance at petsmart ($19.99). Arrived home, did some research, and realized that I had gotten a great deal. This is a great crate to travel with. Our dog is crate trained during the day (with a normal wire crate). We use the Pet Gear crate as a in-and-out resting area for our dog while we are home. I don't think this crate was intended to be used as your "normal" everyday confined crate, since some dogs might be able to break through it easily. Our dog loves being in her crates (wire & soft) therefore she does not make any messes.
Pros: cute, easy to fold-up and travel with, 2 entrances, cozy
Cons: none

I bought this kind of crate and liked it for awhile but my puppy would get excited and paw at the door opening. It wasn't long before the zipper would open up when he did this. The crate was no longer useful and I feel I wasted my money.
Pros: easy to assemble nice looking
Cons: did not last very long

Bebe hates hard crates so someone suggested a soft-crate. I bought this one and Bebe was instantly crate-trained! Anytime I mention that I have to leave, she climbs right inside the crate!
Although, its a pain to clean when accidents occur. ;)
Pros: great for crate training, soft, comfy
Cons: hard to clean

I purchased this crate for my 4mth old Labradoodle and so far I am happy with it! It is roomy and sturdy! He likes his new bed but I am still working on getting him used to being zipped in without barking. He can paw the zipper loose but I put a pad lock on the zippers to keep him in and that works great! I love the storage bags. I use one for his leashes and one for his toys.
He can tip it over though and since I use it in the house I have no way to pin it to the floor.
Pros: 2 storage bags, easy to assemble, large and roomy, comes with a pad
Cons: zipper easily pawed open, no way to hold it to the floor in the house, easy to tip over

As nice as they look, please be advised that these types of cloth crates are meant for travel, particularly to dog trials and shows where a large metal crate would be heavy and cumbersome to take along.
They are NOT meant to contain your dog who has separation anxiety while you are not home - they will just rip through the sides and get into more trouble. Do not buy this if your dog does not feel calm in a crate.
Pros: lightweight, good for travel
Cons: hard to clean

We bought this crate for our daughter's dog for Christmas. Buddy is 18 pound Papillon. It is now less than 1 month later and last night Buddy made it out of the crate and ripped the side. I am very disappointed with the product and would not recommend it.

Although my dog fell in love with this cute crate for the week that we had it... this flimsy unit didn't last. It seemed like the perfect shelter for my 13lb, 5y/o bichon poo. I left my girl in her crate and left home (2hrs) to perform errands. I returned home and she managed to unzip the crates smaller, side flap. I placed her back in the crate b/c I was puzzled as to how she did it. It wasn't much trouble for my little houdini. She used her paws and the tip of her nose to part the zippers until she had ample amount of space to shove her face in. I placed a lock in the zippers & headed out once again (1hr). Thinking the problem was fixed... i returned home for the 2nd time that day and my girl greeted me at the door. The crates screen was completely shredded away. It hung by a few threads. My dog is a high energic breed. Although she's older... she's a very sweet dog with ALOT of pizzazz & energy. Would not recommend this if you have an energic dog.
Pros: cute, cozy
Cons: flimsy material, zippers easy to unzip

I was so excited when I got this crate for my 3 month old lab puppy. I read reviews that said it was great (even for puppies) and bought it right away. Within 4 hours of her being in this crate for the first time, she managed to chew off the velcro on the side panel (which holds the doors open, like in the picture) and tear through the entire mesh side. I had the medium size crate which is now useless and still had to spend more money to buy a steal crate so she couldn't escape. I would only recommend this crate for older dogs that have already been crate-trained or for use when traveling in a car where the sides are reinforced by something solid. One well-placed toenail in the mesh and its useless.
Pros: snaps together quickly, looks nice, multiple entry ways
Cons: mesh sides are too easily destroyed, not easy to repair

I purchased this crate because of it's light weight construction. I have two standard folding metal crates and find them hard to move aroundd because of their weight. This crate is light weight and easy to for me to move.
I also found that with metal folding crates and other canvas crate design it required two hands to set up which meant that I had to have someone hold my dogs while I set them up. This design allows you to set it up and take it down with one hand. This is a life saver since I have 3 excitable dogs.
I was however disappointed in two things;
1) The choice of colors. I would have liked to get a different color for each dog, preferrably to match their collars and leashes.
2) I could only order this product on line. I would have liked to purchase it at my local PetSmart store.
Otherwise, it's a wonderful product with a well thought out design that easily fits into my small car when folded. And my dogs love the top opening, when they're in their crates I open the top so they can stand up and look around.
Pros: great design
Cons: lack of color choices

This crate has literally been a life saver. Shortly after adopting a "special needs" puppy I was told that I needed to keep her in a small crate for 2 months until her surgery was possible. This crate offered her the visibility and air flow that make her comfortable and not so closed in. The roll-up walls/windows makes it so easy to medicate, feed, and love her during this very difficult time. It is durable and easy to move from room to room. The pockets are extremely handy to have. This is a fantastic buy.

This is a great kennel. I love it. It is the right size and it is sturdy. My little ones were able to escape by unzipping the door. They learned this quickly. I used a string to tie the two zippers together and this was resolved. However the canvas seems to hold odor, though I have cleaned it repeatedly. I am probably going to exchange for a plastic kennel that is easier to deodorize.

We have an eight week old yellow lab and this has been a perfect "bed/home" for her at night. It's soft and easy to take from place to place because it's light weight (10-12lbs)but strong. She is using it as a quiet place. It's not as intimidating as a crate and because you can see through it on five (of six) sides it's very flexible. There are also four "doors" so you can have it open or closed. We did buy another bed to put inside to make it a bit softer but we are thrilled with this product. It has a waterproof pad (we haven't had any accidents but like the idea of that) and is very easy to clean. This would be great for puppies and smaller dogs that like to be part of the family. It's a good crate alternative. Because it's easy to fold we can also take it in most cars - you fold it before you place it inside the car and then set it up. It's very easy to transport and use.
