My dog seems to prefer his old plastic carrier (that is WAY to small for him) to his big wire crate so we compromised and got him this bigger plastic carrier :) I like that he cannot escape on his own (this was a constant problem with the wire crate) and the clips holding the two halves together are surprisingly sturdy. The seatbelt clip is awesome. My only suggestion is that his old carrier had a second lid on top that allowed me to peek in on my dog and give him treats without opening the big door, and I kinda miss that.

I'm sure it will function well, however could use some QC. Overall matte appearance, yet irregularly shiny around certain areas of the mold, and this one had scratches that were obvious in the matte areas and may have been a return. Had to trim up plastic 'flashing' around the door and other edges. Needed oil in the door mechanism due to a big-time squeak. BTW, peacock blue is more of a royal blue. If you're not concerned about appearance, it gets the job done.

This kennel was obviously poor quality and flimsy when I got it but I needed it. The door doesn't latch well and falls out of the holes so that it opens sometimes. I got the medium size for my 2 cats who total about 29lbs. Their weight stretches and bends the flimsy plastic. One day while carrying the kennel out of the car, the bottom completely fell off the kennel and my cats went 2 different directions. (The kennel was only 2 months old) Thank goodness I was able to catch them. This would work fine if you have a very light-weight pet, but otherwise the weight of your pets will always cause you to worry when the plastic will give out.

This carrier nearly gave me a heart attack! Last week when I was taking my dog to the vet, the door flew open and my dog ran out onto the streets. (Thank god I ran after her and caught her!) This carrier has the absolute WORST quality. And i am aware that you need to put the metal poles inside the holes for the door to lock... I did do that but yet the door flew right open!
I am very upset with this product and will be returning it soon!

great carrier that is sturdy but lightweight, balances well so easy to carry no matter which end pet is on, snaps together easily and quickly, roomy on the inside, easy to clean, looks fashionable, has lots of windows but still shady enough that the sun isn't beaming in constantly, nice extras like a seat belt slot and a little drawer for important papers on top

I bought this kennel for my newly rescued pup who is afraid of open wire kennels. This kennel is perfect for her and seems to make her feel safe and confined. She loves it!

my pet carrier i bought is great it is light weight it is also in blue my favorite color and your paying a small amount of money it is protectable for your animal i highly recommend it

My cat loves this thing so much, she sleeps in it every night. I've never seen a cat do that. She just walks right in and sleeps in there. When she's scared at the vet, I like that we can just pop the top off and have her sit in the bottom part where she's comfortable on her blanket. This thing has been to the vet, the foster home (the day we brought her home), the spay clinic, and just about everywhere else and it's held up great. It's easy to clean and durable so you don't have to worry about anything.

I have always had an extremely hard time getting my cat into her carrier (soft sides). this Petmate Kennel Cab is amazing! I was having some painting done and my "baby" was scared to death. I had to have the Kennel Cab out in the middle of the floor so they could paint. When I went to look for her I couldn't find her so I started calling her. She stuck her head out of the Kennel Cab! That has now become her safe place when it storms or the vacuum gets turrned on. Don't think I'll have any trouble getting her in it to go to the vet! A super great product!

This is a great carrier for my cat. It has a good handle and is very sturdy. I put a toy in it for my cat and he is so happy in it.

Love this carrier, easy to put together BUT very easy to pinch yourself with the clamps if you're not careful. I will still keep it because it doesn't take much space when folded in two and my cat seemed to like it as well.

Compared to the one it is replacing, it very flimsy. The old one was much sturdier and lasted us for a number of years. This one, not convinced it would last a year with minimum use.

A bit flimsy, but adequate. The clips that hold the top to the bottom are poorly designed/implemented, and REQUIRE that you add nylon tie wraps on the four main clips to make sure that the carrier doesn't come apart (as one person reported). The food/water dish that fits on the door is probably useless. It's pretty basic, but the price is right, and it should do the job (after taking the aforementioned precautions).

This particular carrier is not sturdy enough to handle a large 16# cat. I have had to not only hold it by way of the handle but also hold onto the bottom to insure that the bottom does not fall apart. I am in the process of looking for another carrier.

We needed a new carrier for our cat and this one looked like it was the best quality for its price. We were surely right! It has held up wonderfully for years and we have not had a problem with it yet. One concern of mine is that the the cup is a little hard to attach to the door but once you figure that out, it's a great carrier or crate for birds,hamsters,chinchillas,guinea pigs,cats,small dogs and reptiles. I absolutely love the food storage on top,which makes it good for carrying home medications from the vet,food,treats,toys and animal boots. I highly recommend putting an old towel or blanket inside as you don't want your pet smelling bad when you get home! The handle is very sturdy and my pets feel comfortable inside.

i remembered the first time i got this kennel. i never thought it would work, because my friend said her dog used to escape. I have a dog who always likes to run away. So i the risk and i found out that it worked! Just to double check i started the car. i put her inside and locked the kennel door, and then she tried to get out and couldn't!!!! i also was going to travel the next week and didn't want to fly on a plane, so i decided i could take her with and have her in the back with no dog hair on my clothes, or on the car seats. i recommed you buy this product.

I ordered this carrier to serve as an "at home" crate and not really a carrier. The first one I received was cracked on the bottom. Called Petsmart's customer service and they +
two day shipped a replacement to me without charge and sent me a return label to send the damaged one back. Second one arrived in perfect condition.

The size I got is the Intermediate size and it is perfect for my dachshund. It is easy to put together and take apart for cleaning. I went to another petstore to look at the crate sizes to determine what size I needed and then ordered from Petsmart.com and paid about half price. When looking at the dimensions of the carrier, you will need to take into account the fact that those are the dimensions of the carrier itself, and not the inside or the amount of room your dog will have to move about. You can take about 3 inches off each measurement and that should give you the total amount of space they'll have on each measurement.
I would highly recommend this carrier as it is well made and does exactly what it is designed to do.

We have one and it is sturdy, escape proof, and safe for the dog. We used one for one dog we had when he was a puppy and it worked great until he grew out of it. His two puppy kids are too big for it too now. But it also works great for cats!
I highly recommend.

I bought the intermediate per the sizing chart for my sheltie and it is WAY TOO SMALL for him. I will be returning it in hopes to find a bigger one at a decent price. I recommend buying a size up.
