If your cat is very young {will play with ANYTHING} or has experience playing with other types of rolling balls, then maybe this is the toy you should buy ~ however, in this instance I can tell you that the flashing lights and the noisy tough plastic did nothing to attract this particular 7 year old male cat {much more interested in SlimCat™ interactive feeding ball}.

I bought this for my indoor kitty so she could get some exercise. She LOVES the flashing lights. She smacks that thing all over the house. I'd say she's getting lots of exercise running and hopping all over the place. Great purchase. As an FYI, you may want to lock it up at night because it's made of hard plastic and it's really loud on hardwood floors or when it hits the wall.
Pros: durable, Keeps Pet Entertained, easy to wash

My 3.5 month kitten loves the Flash Dance ball toy. The only con is that it makes a lot of noise on hard surfaces. It is really neat at night when the lights are out. The flashing lights and the continuously rolling nature of the ball keep the cat interested.

My cat will play with this when I roll it to start the lights going, but she'll also start it herself. It's a hard plastic so you can't throw it. I need to buy a few more because it gets "lost" under the furniture, and I only do "toy sweeps" every few weeks to find their toys.
