Even works on dogs too smart for their own good,

Pros: it works, makes pill giving easy
"I have a Border Collie mix that has never ever taken a pill in a treat. He would eat the treat, but leave the pill on the floor. So when my vet told me that he would need to be on a daily steroid indefinitely, I was filled with despair. Then when they gave me a sample of these pill pockets,. . . . I laughed, and told them what he had done in the past. That night I decided to try it, and to my thrilled amazement, IT WORKED. He gulped down pill and all. I am able to fit 2 small pills into one pocket."

DOG LOVES THEM,
October 10, 2009

Pros: picky dog loves them, fits in my very small dog's mouth, easy to put pill in
"When the vet prescribed my yorkie with oral medicine to stop her constant itching, I didn't know how to give them to her. She recommended giving it wrapped up in bread and peanut butter, she ate it but it was very messy. We bought the pill pockets so it would be easier and she LOVES THEM!! My yorkie is a VERY, and i mean VERY picky eater and cant get enough of 'em"

A great solution for giving pills,

"Petsmart carried the small and large sizes in the beef flavor and the medium in chicken flavor. The small and medium were $7.99 and the large $8.99. I got the large and was glad that I did because the pill pockets are very soft and pliable, kind of a dough consistency and you can divide them easily. My senior dog just started on heart medication, consisting of 4 different pills. I initially put this in one pocket, but they smashed it and divided it into two pieces, since he is a smaller dog. His heart problems have affected his appetite so I was thrilled when after sniffing them for several minutes, he did eat both pieces. Much easier than trying to force multiple pills down the poor little dog's throat twice a day. The package says it will fit a capsule, but the size of the pill pocket is a little larger than that."

"My german shorthaired pointer previously had been prescribed tablets for periodic prescriptions. However, recently he got a staph infection, and the vet prescribed two sets of capsules. At first, making a "sandwich" out of training treats, peanut butter, and the capsules was working. However, sometimes Bo would break open the capsule while he was chewing and the powder inside would just spill on the carpet. When I ran out of treats, I went to Petsmart to get more, and I saw the Greenies Pill Pockets hanging on an endcap. I thought "this is EXACTLY what I need!" I got a pack of the large beef flavored pockets, and Bo practically inhaled them. He looked at me expectantly for more. Problem solved!"

Pill Pockets are GREAT!,

"My dog literally inhales these "treats" and begs for more! We've tried hiding pills in peanut butter, cheese balls...etc.-but it never worked. Pill Pockets work with no hassle...and our dog is usually very finicky about her treats."

Such a lifesaver!,

"Our french bulldog recently had 2 large masses removed. He was given several pills that needed to be taken 2 times daily. We tried sticking the pills in just about everything (peanut butter, hollowed out pizza crust, treats, etc.). He somehow managed to find the capsules and would spit them out. My husband almost lost his finger trying to shove the pills into his mouth. We almost gave up until I came across these in the store. They are shaped like a cylinder with the top missing. You insert the capsule (there is enough room for several pills) and because the treat is so soft and moist, you can pinch off the open end to seal it in. He loved them! These are wonderful and really saved our sick pup!"

Could not believe it!,
January 17, 2009

"I have a dog that takes 5 pills a day. He is the snobbiest eater I have ever seen, human or dog. We could not get him to take pills. The peanut butter and everything was a joke. We couldn't get him to swallow them even when we basically put them down his throat.
We put 2 pills inside one of these treats and gave it to him. He ate the whole thing without even chewing! Or at least it seemed that way. Not only that, but he was licking our fingers until we washed the smell off of our hands.
I have fed him other treats (beggin strips, etc) and had never seen anything like that before."

Fantastic & Unbelievable,

"I have 2 dalmatians; 1 has allergies & I'm able to pill her quite easily. However, my second dal was just diagnosed with an enlarged heart & early congestive heart failure. He's a very strong dog for 12, & after I nearly lost my fingers this morning trying to pill him, I called the vet for suggestions. Greenies Pill Pockets is what he suggested & offered a sample, which I promptly picked up. On the 2nd pilling effort of the day, low & behold-he actually ate the pills & didn't spit them out after the treat was gone!! I was a little suspicous that it was just a "one timer", since like others the dog eats around the meds & spits them out; so when I went to give him his evening pills, we had the same results-he ate EVERYTHING. WOOHOO! I get to keep my fingers & Jackson gets his pills without stress & trauma. So far, I'm VERY impressed & will be picking up a supply of these since he'll be on this medication for the rest of his life.
Thank you Greenies for something that works, & is SO easy!"

Pros: easy to use Cons: none
"My Jack Russell, JR, has to take a capsule twice a day for a temporary medical problem. Well, JR finds the capsule and spits it out no matter what I put it into...until Dr Michelle recommended Greenie Pill Pockets. What a God Send these are....JR loves taking his medication and thinks he is getting a treat. Thank you, Greenie for making these!"

Superb!,

"One of my dogs has Addison's Disease and takes medication daily. I have tried many ways of giving her pills; peanut butter, cheese, chicken, "meatballs" made from canned food, etc.. Greenies Pill Pockets have made our medication ritual so fast and easy! Her tablets fit perfectly inside the small-sized pockets and she loves the taste of both the chicken and beef flavors. I would highly recommend Greenies Pill Pockets to anyone that needs to give their cats or dogs medication."

Great timesaver!,
June 22, 2008

"This is the best timesaver for giving your dog pills. In the past I have never had a problem with giving my golden pills. Recently she has figured out how to eat everything but the pills, making it extremely difficult to have her take them. I came across this product one day and it has been a true blessing. Instead of spending a half hour trying to trick her into taking her medication, she is anxiously waiting by me to take them when I have them in the Greenies Pill Pocket."

Excellent,

"My dog has been undergoing medical treatment for the past three months for a condition she picked up from a tick bite (please, dog owners, have your dogs treated every month against ticks because my dog almost died from receiving a bite from an infected tick). She is required to take tablets twice every day and she absolutely hates taking pills of any kind. I had such a hard time getting her to take the pills. The vet told me about the pill pockets and now my dog can't wait to take her pills every day. She believes the pill pockets are just regular treats and she loves them. She prefers the pill pockets over her regular treats and wants me to give them to her all the time. She can't even tell that the pill is inside the treat."

Thank you!!!,

"My yellow lab has skin allergies that can only be controlled by an expensive, daily oral medication--all else has failed. Because of his size, his medication softgels are large, plus they have a distinctive smell. He loathes medication time and so do I. He won't swallow them if they are just given straight. I've tried all the tricks of wrapping cheese/treats around them myself, mixing them into his regular food, etc. He's even tried tricking me by eating the surrounding food, squirreling the meds away in his cheeks, taking them to another room, and discreetly spitting them out where I won't likely find them right away. I find old, sticky softgels all over the house--and we can't afford to waste them like this. My dog LOVES Greenies treats--and he isn't allergic to them! So I decided to try their Pill Pockets, in hopes that he wouldn't be allergic to these either. They have a meaty smell that completely disguises the medication smell. They are very malleable, so the meds are completely concealed. And the best part is that he actually thinks they are a treat! He happily takes his meds now! He comes running when he hears me open the package--my two cats come running too, so that also motivates him to get there before they have any chance of getting near his "treat." The previous "medication stress" for both of us is gone. I can't tell you how much this has improved our quality of life and my peace of mind that he is definitely getting the meds he needs. I can't recommend this product enough!!"
