This substrate is great for adult desert reptiles. It looks attactive and clumps together like kitty litter for easy cleaning. Reptiles love digging around in it. I've used it for both bearded dragons and leopard geckos. However, it's not good for juveniles, who don't know better than to eat their substrate. I start using this when they are a couple years old. Also, if you feed your critters live crickets, it is possible for your reptiles to accidentally ingest the walnut bark. Basically this sand is great for adult desert reptiles who eat from bowls.
