My cat and I love this product! It works great! I bought the lid for it and I never get a smelly room. I have a small Persian, so I am able to change the cartridge every month. I buy them when the pet stores offer free shipping and I always buy at least 4 at a time. Thanks to all of you who wrote a review, you convienced me to buy this product over the others on the market.

The first thing I did before buying the ScoopFree litterbox, was go and get the Crystals litter to be sure that my cats would like it. They did (and so do I) so I decided to try the scoopfree.

Since I had used the crystals with a regular litter box before I knew that to make it last longer you need to stir it up after a cat has relieved itself in it.

The ScoopeFree works great overall, but it doesn't stir or mix the crystals very well and in fact in the instructions there is a section on how to make the litter last longer and that is one of the suggestions.

If you don't like scooping the solid waste then this is the litterbox for you.

After reading the reviews and being tired of scooping, we bought this litter box. Our cats love it, and actually no longer use the regular box at all. This is great because we are no longer having problems with our younger cat who would sometimes go to the bathroom outside the litter box if it wasn't scooped constantly. The downside is that with two cats using only this box, the cartridge only lasts about 10 days max, which can get pricey with the refill cartridges. We have also had consistent problems with urine leaking through the cardboard cartridge onto the floor. Finally, and only slightly frustrating, is that we haven't actually found a pet store that carries the cartridge in store and so we have to order it online each time.
All of that said, I'd much rather put a garbage bag down underneath to catch any leaks and only have to change the litter every 10 days as opposed to scooping it every day and dealing with a smelly litter box. I think this product would be perfect for people with only one cat.

I am so happy with this product. Was looking for another "auto" litter box because the first one I purchased was absolutely a waste of money. This product is everything it claims to offer.

My cat was a little shy about using it. I followed the instructions to the letter and in 24 hrs my cat was using his new litter box.

I watched it in action. It worked like a charm. Now I don't need any one to come over (while on vacation) and change the litter.

I'm getting my moneys worth already. Sure wish I had bought it the first time.

I would highly recommend this product. I had the Littermaid for 4 years (yes, lasted 4 years) and it was good just had some design flaws that I didn't like that haven't changed in the newer models. The SCOOPFREE is very simple, no cleaning, and very quiet! I don't have to ever clean this one at all. Mine lasts about 3 1/2 weeks before I have to change it! (Only takes 5 minutes) The Littermaid only lasted a week and the plastic containers were cheap and the lids never stayed on. Had to clean the bottom sometimes from urine burn and had to clean the floor constantly because of design gaps. The SCOOPFREE is fantastic but a little more expensive to refill. I would like to add though that whatever automatic litterbox you get, please commit yourself to the Litter Crystals. The machines are designed around the better litter because the Crystals absorb urine not clump it (Crystals aren't a clumping litter). The litter is the key to the automatic litterboxes. The blue color also adds to look meaning you forget it's a litter box if your weird like me about having a litter box. It just seems to always look VERY clean because of the crystals. Crystals don't track like cluping litters either. GREAT DESIGN!

I found this litter box on the petsmart website, and had read the reviews, which were all positive. I am a first time cat owner and, had been using a sifting pan with clay litter. I was not very happy with the constant cleaning and odour. My job requires me to be away from home alot. Since the purchase of the scoopfree box there has been no odour and is maintenance free. I never have to fuss with it and only chage the disposable litter pan once a month. I thought it would take some time for her to get used to it but she took to it immediately. It is pricy but well worth it, and comes with a money back gaurantee. Just love it! The cat loves it too!

The product does work, but you will not get a month out of the trays. My two kittens would fill it up in a week. After a week, they no longer want to use the litter and instead, bless their little hearts, prefer to go on my couch instead.

I appreciate that the system does lessen the load for cleaning. You dont need to touch it for a whole week. Changing trays is a snap, but you should plan on spraying the litter down once every 2 or 3 weeks because your cats will poo on the side every now and then. The smell isnt bad either. I recommend the privacy cover too, my cats really appreciate their privacy when they go (except that doesnt stop them from pooing on my brand new dress shirts in the laundry hamper).

I have only had my cats for a year now, and was sick of constantly cleaning the litter box. When you work 50+ hours and 7.5 hours of commuting time per week, that 20 min. per day gets tiresome. Besides, it was hard to find someone to come clean the litterbox everyday when I am away. My husband cleans up the yard after our dog, so the cats are my responsibility. The last time I went away for 4 days, he only remembered to clean the litter once. Talk about disgusting! That was the final straw. The day after I got home, I went to my local Petsmart, and bought the ScoopFree litter box, based on the reviews here. The cats took to it instantly (even my skittish one - Spaz), and I LOVE the fact that I can go away and not worry anymore! There is NO smell from it (it's in my small 6x6 powder room). However, I did have to replace the cartridge by day 10, because the waste wouldn't fit into the recepticle anymore. I am thinking of changing the food to one with less fillers to prevent excessive waste. I also will be buying the privacy hood to help stop the crystals from being strewn all over the floor. All in all, an amazing product!!!

I am so happy that I decided to pay extra to get this litter box! It is the best thing ever! My male cat really stinks and with the old litter box, you could smell it throughout the house. Now, I never smell my litter box at all! I would agree that you do have to change it at least every 3 weeks. I have two cats but the other uses the bathroom outside. They definitely need to lower the prices on the refills (that is why I only put four stars for overall rating) and that would probably be enough incentive for more people to buy this product. Sometimes, a little bit of the his business gets on the other side of the rake, but this is easy to take care of. Otherwise, there is not any day to day maintenance. The crystals will come out, but that is probably my fault b/c I do not have a mat around it. My cats and I both love it! Everyone needs to try this litterbox before they even look at the other brands.

The Scoop Free Litter Box is GREAT, but the cartridges do not last 30 days. I have one cat and I change it every 2 weeks. If they would reduce the price of the cartridges this would be a 5+ star rated product. It is a little expensive to change the cartridges every 2 weeks but in order for it to be completely effective, you must change that often. I have tried all the different types of automatic litter boxes and this is the best....

I am so happy with this new litter box. I have a diabetic cat and so he urinates a lot. I never was able to keep the litter box clean, so I investigated an automatic one. My friend had had some of the littermaid ones and I didn't like their set up, so I bought this one. I have been so pleased with it. It keeps the litter box clean for the cats and does a great job. I have two cats and one is pretty big and neither of them have an issue with it. They did stare at it strangely when it would start the automatic cleaning, but they adapted to it very well. I know they like having a clean box all the time.

Becuase of my diabetic cat, I have to replace the litter pan about every 10-14 days, but it is worth it. I like that I don't have to buy any more litter and don't have to scoop. And although some of the crystal litter gets out (I have the hood, too), it is very easy to clean up and stays right by the box unlike the other types of litter. I do put a plastic trash bag down under the litter pan becuase if I don't change it soon enough, it can leak - but that is my fault, not the box's fault.

This has been a true livesaver and timesaver for me and the cats. And I don't have to deal with scooping. I just dump the whole thing in the trash and start new. I definately recommend this to anyone. And you can get the refills shipped right to your door.

We tried all the suggestions, but my cats simply won't take to this litter box. The product would be great if DeeDee and Dexter did not now prefer the hallway carpet to the litter box.

Our cats are fairly big, which I suspect is part of the problem. This litter box is much smaller than the one they were used to.

First of all, it works really well. Not a single problem in that regard yet. However, the cats are terrified. The noise isn't too bad for me, but the cats find it miserable. They also are scared of the rake and the way it stops in the middle as if it is done and then goes back. They decided that they would rather use the corner of the dining room and their old, unchanged litter box. Now I'm trying it unplugged, and it seems to be working better, but it's a bit annoying to plug it in and press the button each time it needs to be changed. However, if your cats aren't scared, it's great! It works perfectly. No odor problem if you follow the instructions. However, it is useless if the cats don't use it.

I opted to purchase the Scoop Free Litter Box after my last litter box died. I had intended to purchase another automatic litter box of the same brand I had, but after reading reviews on your web site, decided to try Scoop Free. I am so glad I did. There is no odor, much less mess (my cat flings the litter all over, so some litter escape is inevitable), and it is much quieter than the old box. Changing the tray is quick and easy. This litter is far superior to the clumping litter--no dust and fresh smelling. Whatever the cat leaves behind shrivels up to almost nothing compared to the clumping type litter.
My first Scoop Free box mysteriously stopped working after the first few days, so I contacted their customer service representative. She was fabulous, sent me a new product immediately, and even gave me a call to be sure I was satisfied. There have been no more problems.
Your reviews guided me to an excellent product. This litter box is so simple and easy. No mess. NO odor. Doesn't wake me up at night. I hope this review will help someone to try this box, and that they will be as pleasantly surprised as I was to find a product that can make such a disagreeable job "disappear."

I just got one of these thinigs after doing extensive research and comparing. I choose this one over competitors due to the ratings here by other users.

The minute I got it up and running my 14 yr old cat was testing it out. She's always used the standard litter box so I was concerned she wouldn't go for this. Boy was I wrong. She went in there did her duty, and it worked great.

Ok product tester number 2: baby kitten. she didn't know what to make of it, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly.

The box works really well, both of my cats stink to high heaven and this box has greatly reduced the odor in the house. I also have 2 dogs that have the nasty habit of going into the box to eat the cat droppings. Now I no longer have to worry about cleaning that mess. My dogs no longer go in the cat box because there's nothing there for them.

The cats like it, I love it. I used to change cat litter every day, now I have to empty a cartidge once a week. The design is great, I just wish it ran on batteries as i have no outlets where I want to put the litter box. I would recommend this product to anyone especially people that have dogs too. Much cleaner and much more sanitary.

Finally, a litter box that is better than I hoped for!!!!!!!! I purchased the ScoopFree to replace my old LitterMaid automatic box. I thought the metal tines might stay cleaner than the plastic ones on the Littermaid. To my delight this ScoopFree not only stays cleaner but is easier to setup and clean. The replacement litter really does last 3-4 weeks with my large Ragdoll cat and its a snap to change. Best of all it is oder free and my cat loves it.
It is rare that a product exceeds my expectations but the ScoopFree litterpan certainly does.

WOW! I am the owner of 2 six year old cats and recently found myself NEEDING to find an automatic litter box when my favourite pet sitters discovered they were expecting....and therefore cannot clean boxes.
I searched the web sites and found this product and decided this was the one for us.

I am impressed with the Petsmart website for offering sound, reliable information, I am most impressed with the Scoop Free company, (who I actually contacted for help as I couldn't find this box ANYWHERE here in Ontario).
I should explain, time was of the essence as I had a work committment that was fast approaching that would take me away from home for a week.
Both Scoop Free, and Petsmart were extremely helpful in answering all my questions and with the order, which by the way arrived in LESS than one week!
I had concerns that my cats, being older than many referred to in other reviews, would have difficulty in adjusting....BOTH took to it in about two days, (following the recommendations provided), although my little guy returned to the old box when it was accidentally cleaned out.
I appreciate how simple the unit is to maintain and operate, and as silly as this sounds, am pleasantly surprised by how this "gadget" has drastically improved our lives.

I used the Litter Maid for years and I grew tried of it always breaking down. This product is great but you need to make sure that you stay up on switching out the disposable boxex. I have two cats and 12 days is the max before you change the box.

i have had the box for about 2 weeks now and love it. it's quiet and there is virtually no odor. i will have to change it a little more frequently as i have two cats but so far i am very pleased. i am a previous owner of the litter round up (i've bought 3 in 3 yrs) also known as the piece of junk thats always gets stuck and clicks!!
