Sturdy, Easy-to-Use Gate, December 15, 2008
by 10lbDog from Texas

"This gate secures snugly to the wall without leaving marks. My 10-lb dog bangs the devil out of it, and it does not budge. (Also doesn't get scratched up - I've had it over a year.) Easy to mount again when I take it to another house. Pedal works great. Excellent gate!"

Very nice gate!!, April 2, 2008
by MaltipooMama from Alabama

"The bars on the side need to be closer together. My 8 pound maltipoo can squeeze through the bars and escape."

Great small dog gate finally, December 6, 2007
by HappyPappys from Iowa

"I love this gate! We own four of them because we raise papillons in our house. I like to beable to separate dogs in different areas of our house for various reasons. My papillons cannot climb over it or chew it. It is sturdy and elegant enough for a nice decor. However I do wish the bars were closer together because my papillon babies can go through the bars. My husband put chicken wire on them and now they work great for puppies. I am going to buy one for Christmas for my daughter who has 2 papillons now. I hate stepping over those unmovable gates. And I hate the wood material. These are strong and pretty. You can use them for human babies also. They ae safe and can't be chewed."

Sturdy, August 18, 2007
by rifterzs from Reston, VA

"My german shepherd used to always jump the other gate, A few times she didn't quite make it but knew it was so loose that it would just fall off the wall and she was out. This thing is a little taller than the other and incredibly sturdy. I bought the extension and it still remains solid with no woblling with the addition. She has yet to jump it, porobably because she knows it won't collapse if she misses. The foot pedal is great and works perfectly, no worry about the dog, or child using it due to weight requirement. Only thing is the gate doesn't have a spring that pulls it closed, I like this b/c when I want her out it can stay wide open but others might not."

So Far, So Good, August 12, 2007
by LabPuppyParent from Dallas TX

"I just bought this gate today. It was easy to install-took about 10 minutes and I'm no handyman! My two-month-old Lab mix puppy can't escape no matter how hard she tries, and she's been successful with other containment devices. I like the no-hands feature and it seems to be very sturdy. Thinking about buying another or the extension kit for another doorway."

hands free dog gate from pet smart, July 27, 2007
by Barney1234 from Buffalo, ny suburbs

"Received the gate in 2 days after ordering, thanks.
Free shipping, great price also. After reading directions twice I put the gate together by myself in less than 15 minutes and in full operation. Seems to be a great product will probably buy another since just got border collie puppy. Love the hands free operation."

Looks good and it works!, July 15, 2007
by DeeG from Houston

"Since it needs to be assembled in the upright position, I needed a second set of hands. And read the instructions carefully. Then, when installed, I had to learn not to trip over the bar at the bottom, but that only speaks to my 30 years of passing through that doorway without a bar to trip over!
This is a very good-looking, study gate. It would be impossible for my dog to exert enough pressure to open the gate. I'm so very glad I bought it! I may even buy another for another door. One thing, though, is that you should know that if properly installed, when you press the pedal, it does not pop open. It takes another body part (they recommend using one's knee) in order to move the gate to one side or the other. Highly recommended!"

The solution we needed, June 25, 2007
by Ricci from San Antonio, TX

"I like everything about this gate. It is truly hands free. Our dogs (Bichon Frise) can't open it. It was very easy to install, although the instructions left out putting the bolts into the gate before fitting it into the doorway, but that was pretty easy to figure out. I have recommended this gate to others."

nice gate!, June 20, 2007
by kelsi from pensacola FL

"I purchased this gate to keep my dog out of a certain area of the house. I assumed that my two cats, being cats, would figure out a way to JUMP over the gate. I was wrong. Very efficient gate - none of our pets could get through. It requires a decent amount of pressure to press down the pedal, so the pets can't somehow trigger it to open. Just keep in mind that this gate will probably keep ALL pets on one side, unless they are super skinny (like my kitten) and can manage to squeeze through the bars. But my larger (chubbier) cat has no way of getting through unless we leave it open for her. For my next gate, I'll probably go for one w/ a smaller pet door for the cats - i just hope I won't be sacrificing the quality of this one! very happy!"

I love this gate!!!!!!!!, May 12, 2007
by zignuk from Basking Ridge, NJ

"We have had two of these gates up for almost 4 years now and they are still functioning as well as they did when we installed them. We didn't even have to adjust the installation. We have two kids and two pets, and we use them several times a day. It is so easy to use, you just step on the foot petal. It is an awesome gate!"

Hands Free Gate, March 5, 2007
by Markdoc from West Hempstead, NY

"This gate is very well made and easy to install. Very sturdy and strong enough for a 200 lb. adult to lean on without moving. The lock releases easily with a foot pedal. The only slight "con" is the hump on the floor which can be difficult to wheel things over. I highly recommend it."

Hands Free Gate, February 16, 2007
by slynch165 from New Jersey

"I just purchased this gate about two weeks ago and I wish I had found it sooner! I have a 50 pound dog and i use it to keep him from leaving the backyard. It is perfect! He cannot push it over like he used to do with other gates. Also, the foot pedal is easy for me to use but he cannot activate it.

I had to purchase two of the gate extenders and the gate is still very sturdy. My father saw it at my house and is now purchasing one for his dog. Overall, I am very happy with this product!"

What a great gate!, January 17, 2007
by Dagna from Florida Suncoast

"I've had this gate (with two extensions) for about three weeks now, and it works great! The walk-through portion is easy to operate, opens smoothly, and swings both ways. I have this gate across the wide opening into the kitchen, so I go through it many times a day. I was a bit worried the dogs would be able to operate it, but the control is stiff, springy and up off the ground, so even if my big dogs figured it out it would be nearly impossible for them to get enough leverage to open the gate. NOTE: I use this gate for flow control and to keep the dogs out of the kitchen when I'm cooking. I haven't used it for keeping a determined dog in, but it seems quite sturdy and well made so I would expect it to do that job as well as any other gate--just much more conveniently. And it looks pretty nice, too."

Great Gate!!!!!, January 16, 2007
by BostonTerrierOwner from Queens, New York

"I purchased this gate for my Boston Terrier puppy. I've had it up for about 2 weeks and I love it! Once installed, it is very secure and sturdy. Once my dog realized he could not push it over, as he had done with a cheaper, wooden mesh gate, he has not tried knocking it down. The foot pedal makes using the gate easy and convenient, although on occasion, my puppy likes to chew on it- which it appears to stand up to.

I purchased this gate because I have molding near my floor and many gates would not sit flush against the wall, but this one will. In terms of installation, I had to buy the extension once the gate was delivered because although my space JUST fit the width requirements, the gaps on the side of the gate were large enough for my puppy to fit through I was able to purchase this quickly from a nearby baby supply megastore, and the problem was corrected.

Although I can't speak to the long term use of this product, so far, I would highly recommend this gate!"

Love it!, November 15, 2006
by Houston from Houston, TX

"I needed a gate to keep the dog out of the cat's room, and it needed to be easy for people to go in and out of the room through the gate. We tried the several sliding ones, but none were as user friendly as this one - especially if you have your hands full with their food or water. It is so easy to open and close without having to remove the whole gate each time. The rubber "feet" that hold the gate in place do not slip at all. This gate has a metal frame, so it stands up to the scratching by the dog. Furthermore, the vertical bar design of this gate keeps dogs and cats from climbing up the gate to get over."

hands free gate, October 20, 2006
by bearsmom from Sharon Hill, Pa

"This gate is just want you want if you are carrying loads of laundry or books or a child. The foot pedal works easily and I have a big dog who can not activate it. It's much better than stepping over a fence or constantly pulling up on a tension gate to remove it. It stays in place and works with ease. The tension rods hold it in place securely without damage to your molding and can be easily removed. Better than I expected!!"
