I have a 12 1/2 year old female cat with renal problems who hates to take any pills. Tried the pill plunger and liquids. She managed to hock both pill and liquid up. Recently started on renal meds and a friend recommended pill pockets. Worked like a charm. The old girl just gobbled it up. Didn't suspect a pill was in the center. Wish I'd known about these sooner.

My friend buys these for her cat who takes 2 pills per day (thyroid medication) she puts one pill pocket on top of her cats dry cat food in the morning & evening & her cat eats it right up.
Also worked well for a cat that I was fostering for his respitory infection.
Unfortunitrly my cat Tiger tried it with a medication he had to take he chewed it & spit it out & would not try it again.
Should make a bigger bag.

My cat must take a pill for seizures and it was very hard to get him to take it. You know it is hard to make a cat do anything so you can imagine how frustrating and time consuming it was. The receptionist at my vet told me about the Greenies Pill Pockets and it has been a life saver. Not sure if mine or my cat's, probably both of ours.

I brought my cat Zoe home from having bladder stone surgery with several bottles of pills. The first night was hard. He was in pain and didn't want a pill shoved down his throat. The next day while picking up his new litter I spotted these in the aisle. I don't know what I would have done without them! It turned giving medicine to my cat from a nightmare to a bonding experience. He now runs up the second he sees me open the bag and always takes his medicine like a good kitty :)

I use the flea pills, Program and Capstar, to treat fleas on my two cats, Angie and Daisy. Well, it was extremely hard to get my youngest cat, Angie to swallow a pill just by itself. I even tried hiding it in her canned food without much luck. So, I tried Pill Pockets and they are wonderful. The pockets hold the pill and my cat thinks she is getting a treat instead of medicine. I have not had either of my cats refuse to eat either flavor of Pill Pockets. The only problem is that they will only fit 1 medicine in each pocket, so if you have to give your cat multiple medicines, you have to use 1 pill pocket for each medicine. Otherwise, they are an excellent product!

These work really good to give your cat pills or capsules. The only thing you have to watch is that you don't touch the pill pocket with the same hand that you touch the pill with because sometimes they can smell the medicine. Haven't had too many problems though. I tell everyone about these. The cats love the taste and the price is pretty good.

Pill pockets have saved us more than once with cats that don't like pills. My only suggestion is bigger bags! We recently had a cat put on medication she will need twice a day, every day, for life. We are going to need a LOT of pill pockets. A larger quantity bag would help a great deal.

While the Pill Pockets get 5 stars for dogs unfortuately they do not work for my cat. My cat will eat the pill pocket and then swat the medicine to the floor.

No more poking pills down your cat's throat risking being clawed to death or bitten! These are one of life's little miracles. Our cats (we have 6 cats!) prefer the chicken flavor. To get the aroma more developed to entice cats new to the program or just plain finicky, you may need to work the pill pocket, somewhat like play dough, to warm the pocket up & producing more flavor enhancers for the cat.

My 22 year old cat, Sadie, now must take a pill twice a day for the rest of her life. My husband and I were having an awful time getting the medication in her, until we found these pill pockets. She get's so excited when I go to the drawer where I keep her "treats". She loves them!!

my cat is a garbage disposal... loves to eat everything. so when I read the reviews about pill pockets I got over excited, since my cat was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which means a pill daily now for the rest of his life and with this they are very hungry and my cat sniffed the pill pocket and walked away (I didnt even have a pill in it yet) :( bummed! Anyone know of another brand that is more pleasing to cats!??! Help!

Easy to use, easy to give. Kitty ate it up with delight and then wanted more treats.
After 4 days of force-feeding antibiotic pills to a very stubborn and thoroughly unhappy kitty, we were at our wit's end. An online forum suggested these and we would have paid ANYTHING for them.
He is impossible to give medication..tried putting pill down his throat..got into his mouth and thought he swallowed but 10 seconds later he spit it out.. He vomits up liquid meds too so I tried the Pill Pockets and he eats them up.. A word of advice..I put the pills into the pocket with a tweezer..then I push it in with the other side of the tweezer.. then I pinch it shut and roll it up a little with fingers. I wash my hands first..that way he has no problem with smelling the pill. I do cut the larger pills in half first.

My cat has Asthma and we have been having to give him pills which I knew would be a challenge. I remembered seeing these on the shelf and had to go pick them up. They worked wonderful. For those that have had problems getting their cats to take these I do have some suggestions. If your problem was they got smart to the fact there is a pill inside (mine did too) try feeding them a few at a time or with a different treat. If the problem is the pill is too big then buy a pill cutter (for use only with cat meds) and give them two treats with one half in each treat. My cat loved the taste of these and gobbled his treat down with no issue. My only complaint is that sometimes they kind of crumble to much and sometimes to the extent it couldn't be used to hold the pill.
This is a very good idea for this, but unfortunately it didn't work for me with my good old picky cat. She seems to figure out everything. They are very small treats and the pills I needed to give her were a tad large. Then it involved playing around with it a lot and this was giving too many scents away for her to figure it all out. I took two treats and pushed the pills in the middle since they are soft and it was still iffy. This would be surrounded by others and of course you would find that one laying there as the others were nibbled away. If you have the right kitty that isn't so picky, I'm sure you will have a good experience with giving them their meds this way.

So apparently, according to the instructions, it's not as simple as shoving a pill in the pocket and handing it to your cat. You gotta "handle the pill with one hand, and handle the treat w/the other so you don't transfer the smell," and "squish the open side closed to seal the pill inside..." and so on. Well, as I'm explaining this to my boyfriend, after he's touched it all over and hasn't sealed it yet, he accidentally drops it on the floor and it rolls right in front of her... we rush to grab it and then realize, why are we rushing? If she eats it, that's a GOOD thing, duh! LOL. If she doesn't, we'll just pick it up and try again.
Well she gobbled it right up off the floor, licked her lips, and never suspected a thing. The end. lol
I also gave her a couple of empty ones the night before, just to see if she liked 'em, and she did, so they double as regular treats as well. :)
Pros: taste, price, high quality ingredients

My cat had to take pills, which is normally a painful experience for the entire family, because we have to shove the pills down the cat's mouth, causing her to be very scared and stressed, and much less social. With these, put the pill in one of the treats, but give a dud treat before and after you give the one with the pill inside, just so the cat doesn't get suspicious. Also, you want to handle the pill and the exterior of the treat with two separate hands, or else they will be able to smell a suspicious difference. The price is good, the cats absolutely LOVE the treats, and the ingredients make cat's mouthes water, but to humans, they smell pretty bad. All in all, 5 out of 5 stars!

my kitten had an infection, so i bought these, hoping they'd make giving her the medication easier, but i was terribly wrong. she absolutely hated them, whether they contained a pill or not, and spat them back out onto the floor.

Our large cat is a glutton, he barely gives his food a glance and a sniff before chowing down. The 5 mg of Prozac (half a pill) is easily disguised in these treats and I doubt he even chews them! It's easier than forcing them down his throat. Love them!
