Comfort Zone Cat Calm,
March 15, 2007
by Hippy
from Illinois
"I had a recent move and my 14 year old cat does not get along with other animals at all. My room mate has a 10 month kitten and I was very pleasantly surprised! I found this product very easy to use and without mess or unpleasant odors. Cat calm made for an easy transition for my pet to our new home and a big difference! This product made it possible for our pets to be calm enough to get to know one another and now they play instead of fight. My older cat has had wetting problems in the past, now without re-occurance and the kitten stopped scratching the furniture as soon as I start using this product. We have a happy family now and I highly recommend this product. I would not be without Comfort Zone Cat Calm in my home again!
A Very Happy and Calm customer, IL"

Worked for us!,
December 7, 2006
by lynnation
from Denver
"My cat has been urinating in inappropriate places for YEARS. His new place this year has been my bed. I had to buy 2 sets of bedding and plastic mattress covers and do laundry almost every day for the last four months. My cat is 13 and has done this whenever he has been mad or stressed out for most of his life. After I put in the plug in he did not urinate anywhere outside of his litterbox AT ALL for four weeks! When the plug in ran out - boom, he urinated outside the box again - I'm on my way to get the refill right now. This product has made it so I can keep my beloved cat and I am so grateful : )"

Prevents spraying, but Costly,
November 12, 2009
by NWhite
from Lafayette, LA
Pros: prevents urine marking!!!, no smell, easy to use Cons: refills expensive & last about 3 1/2wks
"I had a male that I didn't get around to fixing until he was nearly 2 years old (he hadn't started spraying until 1 month prior when my roommate at the time brought home a female in heat), I had him fixed but because of his age they weren't sure if he would spray & said it usually takes 1-3months for their bodies to adjust to being fixed and not spray (if it worked). So I bought this because I did not want that urine odor in my brand new apartment I was moving into because the smell of urine is disgusting & impossible to get rid of. I tried in my previous apartment spending hours of experiments and buying products and nothing worked. Bottom line....NO SPRAYING since I have used the product. My cats also get scared of my husband because he is much larger than I am & moves around very fast so I hope it would help relax them. It has helped with this somewhat, but overall I can see a difference in their moods (very happy, relaxed). I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT to anyone who is having problems with a cat spraying!!!!!!!!! I also bought the spray, but it has a funny smell when you spray it & I'm not sure about the length of time it is effective (just used as a backup for the 1st month)."

SOOOO Wished it would have worked,
November 3, 2009
by JodiraNY
from Upstate, NY
"I am sorry to say I tried out this product and it simply does not work. I gave it its 4 weeks and to no avail, my 3 year old male exotic persian is still urine marking right in the spot where I put the diffuser; to be exact. I have tried everything and am finding this is a sad behavior issue by which I see no solution. BTW, This product is way too expensive. Thank goodness petsmart gives refunds."

Feliway Spray and Diffuser,
November 2, 2009
by Starbug
from Ohio
Pros: works Cons: have to pay the price
"I first found out about Feliway Spray when I had to help move "Lucifer" (a very opinionated 13 year old cat who owns our beloved 90-year-old) from Arkansas to California and then (unfortunately! TSA!) from California to Tennessee. It helped "Uncle Lucy" be "Lucy Fur".
Then 3 feral litter kittens adopted us and Feliway Spray helped stop their tearing up furniture and worse, the rental carpet.
Despite neutering and everything else we could think of to do, "alpha boy" Smudge gradually became a terror for his lsister and brother, (as well as us) as he demanded attention, especially at night.
My poor husband was spending a great deal of his time yelling at poor Smudge and putting him "time out" in another room so Smudge's siblings (and we) could relax at least for a few minutes.
The Feliway diffuser is expensive, but it's worth every penny, because, after just a few days, Smudge is a new cat, and as a result so are we and his brother and sister. Well, WE'RE not new cats, but at least we're more relaxed old humans and our cat children are living far more harmoniously than any of us were doing before."

Cat's Nerves & Claws Calmed,
October 12, 2009
by MosbysMom
from Leesburg, VA
"My Maine Coone experiences anxiety when I leave the house and, as with his breed, likes to scratch a lot! My vet recommended Feliway and it has calmed my Maine Coone's nerves and quelled the scratching. The only negative is that the wick in the diffuser doesn't reach all of the liquid, leaving about 1/2 the bottle left. That's frustrating considering the almost $50 cost!"

May not work on all cats?,
October 6, 2009
by Kathlene
from Bossier City, LA
Cons: expensive, may not work for all cats?
"I bought and used this product for my cat, Bella, to help her be a little calmer during a time of great stress: we were taking in a black Lab. I called PetSmart, and this product was recommended by an employee. We wound up not keeping the dog, but I have kept using this product and the two refills I purchased. The dog is gone, but Bella is just as feisty as she was before he came and I plugged this system in; it's been 2 months and I've noticed no change in her behavior. I really don't have enough data to give this product a poor rating: I'm thinking it may not work for all cats, perhaps. So, I would still recommend its use. Nevertheless, the starter kit, alone, was incredibly expensive."

Behavioral problems? Multiple cats? Try this!,
September 16, 2009
by LeMeowmy
from Los Angeles, CA
Pros: no odor, really works, gentle Cons: expensive
"When I adopted my second cat, my first cat didn't take it very well. She would hiss/moan and hide whenever the new cat came near. Upon others' recommendations, I decided to try a Feliway diffuser and the two began to interact more and more. I have recommended it to friends with similar problems and I will continue to do so. It is a great, gentle alternative to other more harsh methods of behavior correction."

This product saved my cats life!,
September 10, 2009
by gabbie0427
from Peoria, Illinois
Pros: it works, we have happy cats Cons: price
"We have 5 cats and all live well together until for some reason one of the cats started attacking one of the cats. The cat that was attacked had to go to the vet weekly! We knew this had to stop it was not fair to any of the cats. This was our last ditch effort to save the cat. I can not begin to tell you the difference this has made in all of our cats! The 2 that were fighting now sleep on the bed together. He started to get a little aggressive yesterday and I noticed that feliway was getting low. I am ordering extra so it does run out! This is a great product!"

bummer,
May 20, 2009
by BCMD

"As another reviewer, I too have used four of these diffusers continually for four plus months. There has been NO decrease in the adversarial behavior among my cats. TWO seperate vets recommended it but I do not see where it has done anything. IN FACT, after I started to use it I now see the cats scratching on furniture far more often then they had before, prefering their sisal posts."

Miracle,
March 23, 2009
by Juballl
from Ringgold, Ga
Pros: begins working within a couple of days Cons: it is expensive but well worth the money
"I have a male FIV postive cat that I can't get fixed due to his illness. He is the sweetest cat I have ever seen, but he loves to ensure the house is known to be his. I bought this product in hopes that he would stop spraying the house, and I might be able to actually have guest in my home. Within a couple of days of plugging this product in, the spraying stopped completely, and I was surprised it worked so fast/well. I didn't keep up with when the plug-in became empty, but Casey, my cat reminded me in a very short time. The spraying began again. I got a refill, and again the spraying stopped immediately. This is a wonderful product, and I would recommend this product to anyone that introduces a new cat into his/her house especially if you have other cats, or if they have a male cat which has not been spayed."

Only Thing That Has Worked So Far...,
March 21, 2009
by charlottenc
from Charlotte, NC
Pros: it works!!!! Cons: it is not cheap... watch for specials!
"I have two cats. My older cat was a neighborhood stray who I took in a few years ago, and the youngest I adopted as a 6 month old. The older guy is definitely the friendliest, while my youngster tends to hide from everybody except me. My older cat has always been picky about his litter box and I have always known that if I didn't clean regularly, I could expect to find poo in the bathtub. However, in recent months I have been through the ringer with him because no matter what, he was defecating outside of his box (in the tub, in the carpeted closet, in my shoes, on the floor, in the sink and even on the bathroom counter). I tried everything from having the vet examine him, to changing his food, to setting up a litter box in a separate location... I even had him on anxiety meds! Nothing helped. Pretty much, I got used to coming home and cleaning up cat poo. Anyway... I had a vacation coming up and I was nervous about having my friends care for the cats because I didn't want them to deal with his messes. I decided to try comfort zone. No lie, since the day I plugged it in three weeks ago, we have only had two mistakes! Not only that, but my friends tell me that my youngest cat (the "hider") was out playing and even letting children pet him! Comfort Zone has helped both of my pets... AND me!!! I highly recommend it."

Solved a long-time problem,
February 12, 2009
by Khristen
from Granite City, IL
Pros: works just as described! Cons: fairly expensive to start-up and maintain.
"We had issues with one of our cats urinating in various locations due to stress and anxiety for years. We've tried all kinds of things, but nothing seemed to help other than with cleaning up after the fact.
Getting desperate, we invested in the Comfort Zone plug-in. I was a bit skeptical, but it helped him stop urinating where he shouldn't. He also found a new spot to curl up very near to where we had plugged this in. No problems at all from him...until we were suddenly reminded when the cartridge ran out.
It's a bit of an investment, but it is well worth it. He's happier, and we're happier!"

Elderly cats may take longer to respond,
September 28, 2008
by twocentsCanada
from S-W Ontario
"It is worth a try. Package info says elderly cats may take 45 days to respond. Helpful to use when fostering or pet-sitting cats too. Ask your cat boarders and vets if they know about this. The plug-in made a huge difference in our normally shy cats that were more sociable when we had company staying over! Amazing! Also be sure to consider other causes of inappropriate urinating like health, diet, litter, litter box size, quantity and placement. They also make Comfort Zone for dogs. More info available on their company website. Search Comfort Zone® with Feliway® Reference Guide."

Miracle Product,
August 25, 2008
by TacRevol26
from Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania
"I have two cats that I rescued individually from severely cruel situations. I took them to the vet and spent much money to ease their medical needs and have them spayed. However, despite their medical treatment and spaying, they did not and would not get along at all. Each encounter that they had was aggressive, and I knew that they were going to fight. I would have to separate them for continued periods of time. I would reintroduce them but to no avail, nothing worked until I purchased Comfort Zone. All I can say is that it is miraculous. They are getting along as if they grew up together! Also, I have severe environmental allergies and this product did not bother me at all."

"This is a wonderful product for calming a stressed cat. I used it when I brought my oldest cat home. He'd had minimal socialization at that point, but within 10 minutes of putting him in a room with a Feliway plug-in, he was purring contentedly and rubbing my ankles nonstop."

"This product is amazing. My cat became a meany when I got my new kitten, but I used this and it helped her calm down a lot. The only thing is, this stuff is way expensive and Petsmart sells a more generic brand located on the shelf right next to it that works just as good."

Stray Cats made me try it,
June 28, 2008
by Kaye
from East Tennessee
"I was having trouble with one of my Male cats (was a feral kitten) spraying whenever strays were around. He would get so upset at them he would spray doors, open windows, and then started on other areas. I was desperate, almost at that point of saying good bye cat. My vet recommended the spray version, and almost immediately SingSing stopped spraying areas that I sprayed over. He was still having the anxiety issue though, when strays were around, and when the plugins came out, I tried one. First one I had, he SPRAYED it! Vet said stay with it, and I did, we have five plugins, one per room. Indoor spraying is gone (he actually waits until morning and goes outside now). My three males no longer get into sparring matches at night, and my standoffish feral adopted cat (Hence the name SingSing because he was escaping all the time) has become less timid, will stay inside without bolting every time the door opens, and will actually actually let me pet him for a couple of minutes at a time! I agree they are pricey, especially refills! But they work very well. We keep a bottle of the spray on version just in case - say company comes with luggage smelling like someone else's cat or such. A little spritz right on any object that they might spray works well."

A lifesaver!,
June 1, 2008
by superreader
from Augusta, GA
"I had good past experience with Feliway for short-term anxiety so I tried it again about 18 months ago while introducing cat #3 to the household. Fortunately all of our cats (including #4 introduced 5 months ago) are in the majority who respond. Our latest two had poor socialization before coming here so despite careful introduction and behavior modification tension has been high. With Feliway arguments and scuffles drop almost immediately and stay manageable until day 29, when tension starts to rise again. We're really thankful to have it and expect to keep using it full time another 6 months or so then begin to taper off.
The house is ~2400 sf so we use 3 plug-ins plus the spray to prevent scratching and help with trouble spots. It's lots less strenuous than meds or fights (for cats and people alike), and less expensive than the vet! I can't say it's perfect (So much packaging and other waste!) but it's a close as you can get under the circumstances."
