We have tried about 10 or so different mats over the years, and now come back to these oversized, tufted mats. They work really well and keep our wood floors relatively litter free. Two cover our kitty litter room perfectly. They are also easy to clean off (just lift, shake off outside or into a trash bag, and ready to go).

ok, yes this mat does help litter from being spread but it doesn't do a great job at it. cleaning this mat is a mess... it holds litter and smells! i vacuumed it and even hit it against a tree to get the litter out. i also hosed it down. i honestly, don't think its very sanitary.

A delightful surprise!

I have tried a couple of litter rugs but they didn't work very well and in one case, our cats' claws tore the rug the first time it was used. I was getting awfully sick of having litter outside of the room where their litter box is, and picked up this rug with the idea that it wouldn't work either but I'd give it a try.

I put it down and they showed no upset, which was nice, since cats can get upset at the smallest change. Then I waited.

Imagine my surprise when I didn't see any litter outside their room at all! At first I actually thought they might be bypassing it some way, but they weren't. They seem to like the feel of the rug on their paws and the litter seems to fall off into the rug.

I've found on the days I don't need to vacuum the rest of the house, I just run my DustBuster over the rug and it cleans it beautifully.

Try this litter mat; you may be pleasantly surprised, as I was!

Good While it Lasted

This mat did a good job of keeping the cat litter off the floor and near the litter box. It is however, heavy and stiff making it hard to clean and shake. I found after about 4 months that the mat started to tear. I've tried to keep using it but it just continues to tear. At $35, I thought it would have lasted longer.

Pros: does a good job

Cons: short usage life

I bought this mat for my mom's 2 kitties about a year ago. It is large and does an excellent job of trapping the litter. However, it is very hard to clean. It is heavy and unwieldy - impossible for my elderly mother to move or handle. You have to shake and shake and shake it and smack it and kick it to get the litter out. The ends began to rip at the very first shaking session. Now the whole back is ducktaped!

Pros: traps litter well, large -so it gives good coverage

Cons: very heavy, rips easily, hard to handle, difficult to clean

I have always struggled with constantly cleaning up kitty litter that somehow gets tracked all over my apartment. I just bought this mat last week, and there is not a single piece of litter outside of the box! It really does catch the litter before my cats track it out of the box. I would definitely recommend this product, and it is well worth the money!

Great litter mat! The soft webbing does a fantastic job catching litter that's tracked or kicked out of the litter box without being rough or scratchy. The mat is easy to clean too - just shake it out or hose it down.

Purchased on April 7 began to rip at the edges on May 15.
One of my two cats hates the texture and jumps over the mat which means more litter on the floor. The texture does trap litter but makes shaking it out to clean difficult. Do you lug it out doors to shake leaving a fine line of litter to clean up off the floor? Lug the trash can to the litter box?

Bought this mat after having used a couple of the rubber mats in the past. I am amazed at how well the mat captures the litter from the cats' paws. The size is an added bonus because they HAVE to step on it when exiting the litter box. Worth the money!!!

I bought several different brands and styles of litter mats, and FINALLY, this one works!! It traps 95+% of the excess litter that get caught in between the little paws when exiting the litterbox that I don't see litter getting tracked throughout the house anymore. I recommended this to one of my friends who had to sweep the floor several times a day, and now, he no longer has to do it. I highly recommend this. Note: I use the "World Best Litter", and this rating is based on this type of litter. I can't speak for the other brands of litter.
