I've been ordering this product for my rabbits for a while. I was not pleased when my latest shipment showed up with a "New and Improved" label on it and pieces of hay in the food. At first I thought I received the wrong item, so I took it to my nearest store to exchange it, only to find out that I could no longer get the original food with just the pellets. If they had updated the product page here with that information, I would not have ordered it. Further, I find it an insult that they put little bits of hay in rabbit pellets. An informed rabbit owner already gives their rabbits hay. And a rabbit that does not get hay is not going to be better off with the little bit that you've included. All it does is cause a mess and adds a little extra weight so that you don't have to include as many pellets. I will be ordering a new brand.

When getting my first Chinchilla, I originally had her on a fiesta mix, which she loved because she could pick out the stuff she wanted to eat. After doing some reading, I thought it was best to switch her to an all pellet diet. So this was my first choice. I should have shelled out the extra couple bucks for the better choice, because Xena completely ignored the pellets. When getting her a cage mate, they just wanted to throw the stuff around. So I switched them to Mazuri and they loved it. I'm assuming the smell and taste is much more appealing.
Pros: price
Cons: low quality, Taste

I have a 4 yr old bun bun and I have been feeding him this for 3 yrs (since I got him). I love these pellets for him bc they don't have a lot of junk in them like other brands do. It is just pellets, no fruits, no nuts, or seeds, etc. I had bought one bag of Fiesta for him and he picked out the "goodies" that looked like fruit loops. After that I said no way, I am sticking with the Timothy Complete. He also loves these pellets, gobbles 'em up!
However, I just bought him a new bag and within the past couple months from the last bag I bought they must have changed the formula a bit bc for about 2 wks he was NOT eating these pellets. He was hungry BUT either the smell or the taste was turning him off, bc he didn't want anything to do with them. FINALLY he is eating them again, but not like he used to. During the day he used to finish his small bowl, rarely now will it be empty. On occasion it has been half empty. Even though he is eating them again it's just not the same. I wish the old formula would come back. Last time I bought this in Petsmart they didn't carry the 10lb sack anymore, and there was only one 5lb left.
I saw on Kaytee's website that they have a NEW Timothy Complete Plus, one has fruits and veggies, and the other has flowers and herbs. I am not sure if they will be discontinue the original Timothy Complete. I hope Petsmart will carry either the original or the new ones. I wouldn't mind trying the flower and herb one for my bun bun, but I won't do the fruits and veggies, bc it has dried fruits and I KNOW he'll pick them out. (At night time for his treat i will give him a small piece of either dried papaya, pineapple, apple, or bananas. He lovessss that.) But I want his pellets to be pellets not goodies that he'll pick out.
The new version also has hay mixed in, im not sure if i like this bc I already give him hay, I don't want to pay for hay twice. But once again I haven't tried the new verison.
I just wish they didn't change the original Timothy Complete formula. I would give the product 5 out 5 starts IF Petsmart will carry the product in store, and if Kaytee didn't change the formula.

I have been feeding this to my rabbit for several years. It is one of the few adult rabbit foods that actually use timothy hay as the first ingredient and mine prefer it.I thought they might like to try something different so I attempted to introduce another brand by gradually mixing with their Timothy Complete but they always picked out and ate the Timothy Complete pellets and left the other brand to be used as litter. This food does however, have traces of ethoxyquin (as a preservative), I give it 4 stars.
Pros: timothy hay as first ingredient, low in protein
Cons: ethoxoquin as a preservative

Haha my piggies are hay fanatics so when I saw this food I bought it for them. They LOVE it! They don't really like the mix food with all the little bits and pieces, they kind of pick around it. But they eat all of this food. I highly recommend it!!!

My Guinea Pigs love this food and it's made out of Timothy Hay and not Alf Alfa. Unfortunately I will be buying Oxbow brand this time due to this brand currently on back order, however I will come back to this brand. I would absolutely recommend this one to everyone.

I bought this food for my guinea pig, Puzzle. Puzzle always liked eating it, and he was a healthy guinea pig. Then we got our dwarf rabbit, Meadow. Meadow also loves this food. She is a very energetic fluff-ball! I would totally recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this prior to bringing piggies home. My two pigs from a rescue wouldn't touch the stuff. The piggy I got from a lady on Craigslist inhaled it.
I wish I had known how bad ethoxyquin and fillers are for guinea pigs. I threw it out after three days, and all my pigs have been on Oxbow Cavy Cuisine ever since.

I rescue guinea pigs in my area and many people dont know that guinea pigs older than 1 CANNOT have alfalfa or alfalfa based pellets. Alfalfa has a lot of calcium which causes deadly kidney stones and other health issues. There are still ingredients that arnt good for guinea pigs but it is the second best kind on the market. My first choice is Oxbow! Its a bit spendier but it has less fillers than this product! Never buy pellets with seeds or colored bits. They are too fatty, can cause choking. Plain pellets like this product are best!
Pros: doesnt have colored bits or nuts like other pellet, timothy is the first ingerdient
Cons: still has a lot of fillers and unhealthy ingredien

My chinchilla has no problem eating this food, and it easily fits into my budget. I'd easily recommend this, though if you have a chinchilla, you need to get the one labeled SPECIFICALLY for chinchillas, not for rabbits or any other animal.

Timothy Complete for Rabbits
November 17, 2007
by Silverleaf28
fromDiamond Bar, California
Great thing about this product is that it is timothy based, which is much healthier than alfalfa based pellets because alfalfa causes them to be more prone to obesity. Most rabbits like alfalfa because it is sweeter than timothy, but overall, timothy based pellets would be a wiser choice for their pelleted diet. Along with hay, water, and vegetables, your small pet will be on their road to good health. I also give wheat grass, a natural "supplement" (not really, it's just grass that you can find in pet stores) that provides an enormous amount of nutritions. PS: Another will known timothy based pellet food brand is the Oxbow Hay company. You can order online.

This is probably the best food! My rabbit loves it! The little cookies inside are like treats to her! Kaytee even has Junior pet foods, that's what I feed my rabbit since she is under 8 months.
