I got this from all the good reviews. My hamsters would NOT touch it. I was surprised...because to me it smelled GREAT. Unlike other foods, that make you turn away in discuss and wonder how your furry friend can enjoy it so much. I am picking up two new Robo's for my birthday from Pet Smart this weekend, so I might get a bag and try it on them, since in the store they are fed the block food that has no taste. I'll buy a bag of "regular" too, just in case.

Or the best I have found. The ingredients are right. Whole peanuts are even in this! it smells great. and most importantly my hamsters love it ( except 4 stars because of those green pellets in there that none of them will touch even when there is nothing left to eat) With all the junk being sold for hamsters I am so thankful I can find this here at Petsmart. I hope they keep it stocked. Now I just wish they would stock Gerri Gerbil!!!

The price is worth it but I have found it cheaper on other sites sometimes if you buy more than one bag and or catch a sale but its not a constantly supplied at those places so I am willing to pay this price to always have it in stock.

I use this almost exclusively as its the best food one can buy on the market. Sure, my hamsters tend to leave the alfalfa pellets and eat everything else, but most hamsters do. So, I supplement their diet with other sources of protein, like meal worms. Over all though, its given my hamsters' coats a soft and healthy sheen and they look happy and healthy. I wouldn't feed them anything else.

This is the only food mix on the market that does not contain cane molasses, so it is a great choice for dwarf hamsters who are prone to diabetes, as long as you pick out all of the corn, flaked corn, and flaked peas it is good. The protein level is 18% which is also a good thing for hamsters as they need a high protein food. I recommend feeding your hamster oxbow healthy handfuls as well. Mazuri blocks are ok for syrians not dwarfs.

The reason I gave it four out of five stars is because it does contain BHT which I don't like at all, but I know it is not a lot and because it is the best seed mix I don't have a choice. Also the pellets are not well liked, but are the most important part so that is kind of a bummer, but that is why I recommend feeding the oxbow or mazuri (for syrians) along with it.

This is just my personal opinion.

I Love this food! This is probably the only Hamster food on the market right not that is the only good Mix. It's the only brand I know of that has 18% Protein (Good)! The only thing I would say is to any dwarf owners is to pick out any corn and peas since Those are very sugary And Dwarfs are prone to diabetes! :) Other than that I recommend this Food To any one with a hamster!

My hamster had been eating a different brand and was picking and choosing his favorite parts of the "mix". Hazel Hamster had been recommended to me by a well known hamster forum and so, I decided to try it. Eagerly, I put it in with my Syrian's old food, shook the container, and gave him a handful. He automatically went for the Hazel Hamster. He loves it. He doesn't pick out his favorite pieces and eats every single piece (including the "pellet like" ones!). The whole peanuts is a welcome addition and a great treat for your hamster. It's fun to watch them bite into the shell. Hazel hamster doesn't have all the additives of more common hamster foods, and as such is healthier. My hamster's long coat is even softer now. He loves the food and I love feeding it to him.

I bought this food for my sister's new bear hamster and he loves the food. It is healthy for him and he eats all of it so it doesn't go to waste. I love how there are whole peanuts in the mix so he can shell them himself and fulfill his foraging instinct.

This is a good food for a hamster, it is very healthy. I have a winter white dwarf hamster and my hamster loves it. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because if you're like me and you have a dwarf hamster, you have to pick out the corn because they can get diabetes, which is irritating sometimes both because you know you're throwing out food and wasting money and time. Other than that, so worth it! And you can save a small bag of corn (separate it from the food) for treats occasionally.

My syrian hamster is fed every other day, switching back and forth between Mazuri blocks and this. I used to feed her every day, but she would just hoard this and leave the blocks because she loved it so much! But I wanted her to have the healthiness of the pellets, so now she has to finish everything before she gets more.

She eats it all, except for the black pellets and the yellow flake things. I love this food!

In the past, I bought generic hamster food from Walmart for $2. The price was right and there was enough food to last a month or two. However, my hamsters never ate about 75% of it. Meaning, in the long run, I was spending more. I asked local shelters and rescue groups and they all claimed Hazel Hamster is the best for hamsters.

Reason being is that hamsters need a wide variety of seeds and other food products. This blend of food offers that variety, including pumpkin seeds and peanuts, which hamsters love. Also, another postive, that even the small animal rescue groups said, was that the seeds are much larger than other brands. This promotes chewing and gnawing which help cut down a hamster's teeth. As well, it lessens the chance of an animal choking.

Although it is a little pricy, the food is worth it! Plus I have a Syrian hamster, who I feed every day or ever other day (depending on how much is left in her bowl) and I still have the original bag I purchased close to a month ago. I believe it last longer because my hamster actually enjoys every single seed and piece of food in the bag. Great product, that I will use from now on. I wish I would have known about it with previous hamsters.

My hamsters love everything in this diet, except for the pellets that look like avacados.
I mix this food with Mazuri pellets so that my hamsters can have variety.

However, it is rather expensive. $7.99 for a bag!

I found Hazel Hamster when I was at Petsmart, shopping for hamster food after I was running low. I was scanning the shelf for something that was reasonably priced but had variety, and my mum pointed out that this food seemed to have the most colour and variety. We compared it to other foods available and we bought it. When I went home, I did research and found out that Harry/Hazel Hamster food was the best possible food for hamsters. I used it for my Syrian and now for my dwarf hamster. I pick out the seeds by hand and now I'll be picking out the corn as well. It doesn't have the ingredient a lot of foods have that can cause cancer and my hamsters eat every last drop. They don't like the regular old pellets and this has a lot of variety in size, taste, colour, etc. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Out of all the foods that they have for hamsters, this is definitly at the top of my list. I would especially recommend this food to anyone who owns dwarf hamsters, because of the low sugar content, since dwarfs are prone to diabetes. I mix a little of this food with a low sugar content pellet based food. (I use Mazuri, Hamster & Gerbil diet) This keeps my dwarf hamsters happy and healthy, and they seem to love this food.

More variety than most other foods for hamsters. Mine eat almost everything and very little goes to waste. I also think that my hamsters smell better when eating this food- I noticed a big difference after I switched from nutriphase. It's a little bit more expensive than the other foods, but it's worth the extra dollar because it lasts longer because there's such a low amount of waste. I've used several different foods and this is by far the best.
