4 Stars for Odor Control,
October 28, 2009
by Kathlene
from Bossier City, LA
Pros: inexpensive, good odor control Cons: changes to sawdust after urination, must replenish and/or change regularly
"I just adopted another cat and wanted to get something a little less expensive than my usual preference, in case our home doesn't work out for her. So, I bought a regular kitty box, liners, and a bag of Feline Pine. I must admit that I am impressed with the fact that it's a "green" product, it hides the smell pretty well, and I can tell whether she has urinated. (Urination and defecation seem to be pretty important when cats are adjusting to new surroundings and situations.) I just don't like that the litter is pretty much useless once it gets wet. So, this product has turned out to be good for this "trial" situation. Nevertheless, I would LOVE it if Tidy Cats would come out with a pine scented version of their Breeze litter: I like not having to change or replenish the litter every time I turn around."

Kitties Love It and so do I,

"Much better than clay, corn or paper...I have finally found a litter that is accepted by the kitties and not a nightmare for odor, dust or tracking. I like the smell of pine too!"

Simply the best!,

"This is without any hesitation the best cat litter available (and we have tried them all). Over 50 cats use it at our animal shelter and they love it. It is environment friendly, chemical free, highly absorbent, easy to clean and smells great! WE LOVE IT as much as our cats do!"

Works great for puppies too!,
July 30, 2009
by singwithmylife
from UT
Pros: inexpensive, little to no odor, works for dog litter, low tracking, environmentaly friendly
"We use this for our Italian Greyhounds and we love it. We tried every kind of litter with them and this is the best. The paper litter for dogs is SUPER expensive and the pellets were so big the puppies just wanted to play with them and shred them. We also tried paper cat litter but the smell was unbelievable. We tried the corn cat litter but that tracks like crazy. Especially since puppy paws are a bit bigger than cats. :) With this we have had no odor issues, little to no tracking, price we can afford, and they don't play with it. Finally a solution!"

Icky,
June 2, 2009
by Peshemommy
from Brea, CA
"My new kitty did not like this litter AT ALL! She wanted nothing to do with it. She walked in and immediately walked out. She knew where the kitty litter was and what it was for and was crying a lot because she wanted to use it, but couldn't bring herself to do it, so she ended up relieving herself around the box instead of in it. I ended up going with a different brand of kitty litter which was made of clay and she immediately relieved herself when I put her in the box. I have heard from several other people that cats DO NOT like this litter."

pine litter,
January 6, 2009
by vikkitoria
from Innisfil, Ontario
"Have used this litter for about one month and my kitties and puppy love it. I love it. The smell is sooo much better, having male cats as well as female. Puppy has adapted. the pine I was using before was hard to get, used for horses, I'm so happy that Petsmart has this. This last time this was out of stock and I am trying the Equisite, hope I like it as much. We'll see."

Good, not great,
October 3, 2008
by y2j4glc

"This litter is good, but could be better. My wife and I love the fact that it is natural and environmentally friendly. It covers up the smell of urine and cat feces only half the time. Otherwise, you can smell these waste products throughout the house. Once this litter turns to sawdust, it makes such a mess, even though there is a mat in front of our litter box."

Truly the world's best cat litter!,
April 9, 2008
by littlevampire
from New York
"I've used this litter for 10 years--no odour whatsoever! That's what really sold me on this product (that and it's environmentally friendly). Being lazy, I wanted something I wouldn't have to clean every day; with this litter, I generally only replace the litter weekly (no daily cleaning), or whenever Poops tells me it's time.
I've tried the other natural litters based on recycled newspapers as well as wheat, but have always ended up with the tell-tale "cat in the house" smell.
The litter does turn to sawdust which can lead to tracking; using a mat in front of the covered litterbox helps prevent tracking and tossing of litter (something I notice whenever we're on vacation and using his travel litter box).
Although I only have one cat now, the litter was fine for odour control when there were 2 as well as 4 cats (the other cats were 8 & 10, and converting them to the pine pellets took 1 week)."

Great for multi-cat households!,
March 3, 2008
by waytoomanycats

"We live in small apartment with way too many cats and were recommended Feline Pine by someone else in a small apartment. I love the smell of the pine....much better than that perfume-y kitty litter smell. It didn't take our cats too long to get used to it either. Clean up is easy...and even if the cats do make a mess (as ours do) you can just vacuum the sawdust without worrying that your vacuum cleaner is going to die. I've only found that the urine smell was unbearable when I left it too long without changing it. It doesn't work with the poo smell but if you scoop it regularly it's no problem. It says it's safe to flush, but I haven't tried that yet. The best part is that it's cheaper because you don't use nearly as much as you would with regular litter. And our kitties don't run around with litter stuck to their feet (or nose)."

I will never use another brand of cat litter!!,
November 30, 2007
by HarleysMom2005
from Oregon
"I've been using Feline Pine for about a month now, and I can't believe it took me so long to try it! Some other reviewers said that the smell of the pellets took "some getting used to," but to me, it just smells like fresh pine shavings... very natural and woodsy. It took Harley a couple of days to get used to this litter, but she took to it rather easily. The benefits are outstanding: fresh scent, low tracking, natural ingredients, no dust, very inexpensive, lasts a lot longer than traditional litter, and better for the environment. What more could you ask for?"

One of Two Did Not Care For This,
November 7, 2007
by Catka
from Knoxville
"I was excited to finally find a dust free litter that was earth friendly. My two cats used this when we first got it and one had no problem with it. The other cat began doing her business under the dining room table which has never happened in the past ten years. She has done this repeatedly forcing us to find another litter that she feels more comfortable using."

Smelly,
September 21, 2007
by KittieLover
from Williamsburg, VA
"Maybe it's just my cats, but when this litter is mixed with urine, I can smell it throughout the entire house, and it's not pleasant. It also seems to do nothing to cover up the odor of feces. After reading so many glowing reviews, I was mildly disappointed."

Love it!,
August 13, 2007
by jstajem

"I love this cat litter. It's the best! I have three cats and you would never know walking into my house. I originally got this when I got my frist kitten. A representative for the company happened to be at the Petsmart i went to, and she talked me into it. And have loved it ever since. I made my hubby change his cat litter to this, and he really likes it as well. We like the fact that we can flush it, and our house doesnt smell like the house of a thousand cats. It's great and I recommend it to everyone! People that dont like this kind, are not using Feline Pine. There are several different manufacturers for this sort of litter, but if you are not using Feline Pine, then you are using the wrong one! :)"

Kitties love it!,
June 26, 2007
by redsmurf99
from Cleveland Ohio
"My kittens were using this when I first brought them home so I decided to try it to make their transition to a new home easier. I am so glad I did! It absorbs odor like you wouldn't believe, I have not smelled that awful urine smell at all. The smell of the litter itself takes some getting used to, but it sure beats smelling urine! My only complaint is that it is difficult to scoop with out a special made scoop that you can purchase from the manufacturer (order details on are package). It does track a bit, but it is easy to clean and with 2 cats I can go almost 2 weeks without changing the litter."
