A little pricey but worth it for long haired cats.

This litter works great for my Persian cat. It doesn't stick to his fur or his paws like clay litter. You only have to scoop the poo as the litter absorbs the urine. People who come to my apartment tell me they can't even smell the litter box at all (and these are honest friends and family) so it works great at absorbing odor. There is hardly any tracking as well. I have found silica cat litter to be the best.

Crystal litter is the BEST litter in the world. It stays odor free for up to a week even if you are bad about scooping. The crystals are easier to clean and overall are the way to go. Will never go back to regular litter!
Pros: eliminates odor, low dust, easy to clean

I am pleasantly surprised with the excellent results.
After my kitty spent 5 days in the hospital on oxygen, we were told that her respiratory issues were caused by the potty dust. We were advised to purchase silica gel potty. It's been nearly 6 months and her respiratory issues have NOT returned. We found that this product is wonderful in other areas as well! Absolutely no smell, no need to scoop out clumps, just remove stool and flush it! I find that I need to replace the potty every 3 weeks rather than 1 month but I wouldn't care if I had to do it every 2 weeks, it works out great for us.

Great litter

I have two persian cats with extremely long fur. Because of that, other litters would get caught in their fur, track all over, and so on. However this litter is great. I use one 8lb box for my cats and it lasts about 3 weeks, and no scooping, and it keeps odor well under control. The cats are indoor only, so it's their only option. They love it and never have "accidents" elsewhere. To clean I simply dump out and rinse the container and put new litter in, then done. I've used others but this I think is the best for long hair cats especially.

this litter is fantastic! our cat, mr. tibbs, tends to track other litters everywhere but not this one! and the dust of other litters has always been a problem for us... my husband's very sensitive to dust. this product has barely any dust except for when you get to the very last bit of the litter in the jug. it lasted us about a month and a half!! very impressive! literally NO ODOR unless you stand right next to it after your cat goes number 2. i highly recommend this litter to anyone. GREAT PRODUCT!! will definitely be using this litter for a loooong time.

I have many cats a lot of them are senior and special needs. I offer different types of cat litter one different one per litter box, this product and the Precious Cat Senior is my cats favorites I know this because I scoop litter boxes daily and these 2 boxes have the most "waste". The litter lasts longer than your normal litter ex: tidy cat, its very easy to scoop and theres no dust to fumigate you while you dump it in. There is no perfume smell like other litters which i feel is the main reason my cats love this litter. I have recommend it to everyone I know with cats. Its the only litter I will use from now on and have tried many different ones. One full jug of this last me 2-3 weeks. We have 15+ cats in the house

This is the best litter that I've ever used, and we've tried several....Feline Pine, corn-based litters, and typical, common clay-based litters. This litter is low tracking, absorbs odors very well (especially urine), and it is completely unscented. Our himalayan cat adjusted to the litter very well. I highly recommend this litter for all cats, not just long-haired cats, for the aforementioned reasons. The only cons are that this litter is somewhat expensive, especially since one container typically lasts 1 to 1 1/2 months. But, the pros definitely outweigh the cons! Try this litter, if you can afford it.
Pros: low tracking, absorbs odors very well especially urine, it's unscented not like clay-based litters
Cons: somewhat expensive, one container typically lasts 1 to 1 1/2 months

Clumps well, little to no dust, good odor control. I mixed it in with existing clay litter at first and my cats didn't seem to notice the difference. This litter clumps tightly. It didn't last as long as the label indicated but that is the only negative.
Pros: low dust, good odor control
Cons: need to use more than label indicates

Tried this litter based on claims that it was better for my cat, Annie. She took to it immediately, but scratched in it endlessly. Annie has always been VERY good at covering up her poo, and she seemed frustrated that with the little bit of litter used, she couldn't get the coverage she wanted. So I added a little more than was recommended, but she still wasn't satisfied with the results. And the dust! I had dust all over the house, perfect paw prints on the tile floor in the room her litter box is in, dust on the furniture all over my 3 room apartment, and, worst of all, dust all over Annie! I was constantly cleaning up dust that was permeating every inch of my small apartment, and was all over Annie! And those little crystals were all over everything, I could hardly take a step anywhere without hearing them crunch under my feet. I've gone back to my old clay scoopable litter, and Annie and I are both MUCH happier!
Pros: none
Cons: extremely dusty!!!

Great Odor Control - if you use a lot

I'd give this five stars just for odor control - but three stars for the price and the fact I have to use a lot more than the bottle says. And it doesn't last a full month, only two weeks at the outside. So I'll compromise with four stars.
This is the best odor control litter I've used. But we have to use a lot. Bottle says pour to a depth of one inch, but that is misleading, our kitty couldn't cover his droppings with that little, made a mess scratching like crazy trying to cover it up, only managed to toss litter everywhere. Two inches wasn't enough, either - and the smell was awful with droppings lying around uncovered.
So, we switched a few days ago to a 3-inch depth, which requires a full bottle for our jumbo sized litter box, and 3/4 bottle for our regular sized box (we have a big house, so use two boxes). EXPENSIVE. But with 3-inches we don't even realize he's had a number 2, and there is not even a hint of urine smell. Amazing.
And I'm hoping it will last longer - maybe even the full month the maker claims, which lesser depths do not.
It does track. Our cat is long-haired, and the crystals cling to his hair and scatter around the box and room, even get into the hallway sometimes. So I keep a brush and pan by the box in the room with a hard floor, and a hand-held Dirt Devil in the room with a carpeted floor, for quick clean up as I don't like stepping on the crystals and crushing them.
It is dusty, special dust which coats droppings and kills bacteria, harmless, but will make an awful cloud if you pour from far above the litter box. Pour slowly and as close to the box as you can, preferably in the bathroom with a fan on. Then the dust will settle, and no problems once it has settled.
Non-clumping, all you have to clean is the droppings. I use biodegradable doggy-style bags for that, very easy.
If you don't mind the price and don't mind using a lot, it is awesome litter. If it was more affordable I'd give it five stars. Yeah, it tracks - but so does every other litter I've used, so I can live with it.
Pros: best odor control around
Cons: expensive, have to use a lot, tracks

Dust free, no scraping clumps, NO SMELL!!!

My husband is allergic to dust and therefore can't deal with cat litter. This is entirely dust free! The granules absorb the urine so there's no more scraping urine clumps off of the sides and bottom of the litter box. Best of all, there's NO SMELL! Just scoop out the feces every day or so and you're done. It took my cats about a week to get used to since it sounds different than traditional litter when they walk on it or scratch around in it. I have three cats and one litter box and this stuff makes it so you can't smell the litter box, even when you're standing directly over it! I will never go back to traditional litter again!!!
Pros: no dust really, no scraping clumps off the litter box bottom, no smell, very easy to clean, no tracking litter all through the house
Cons: took my cats about a week to get used to

The Best Cat Litter EVER!

This stuff is just as effective and lasts just as long as the Tidy Cats Crystals, but is formulated to not stick to the cat's fur and is less expensive. I also tried the ExquisiCat Crystals, but they are a bit bigger in size and don't sift well (they also hurt a lot more if you step on one in your carpet!) Dr. Elsey's Crystals are the way to go!
Pros: nearly the same size/shape/texture of clay litter, urine absorbed into crystals (no clumps), excrement is dried out within hours
Cons: still gets stuck in between paws like clay litter

I have two Himalayans and this works exactly as advertised. The problem with other litter products and long-haired breeds is that it always sticks to their fur. This doesn't stick at all (to fur and/or paws) and absorbs urine very well. No odor, no chemicals, no residue and easy to clean.
