"The gates arrived much earlier than expected. One of my poodles would push aside or knock over the free standing gates and the other was afraid of them. These gates are sturdy, much nicer looking, sneak past proof, and don't scare the puppy. The one gate does not auto close very well, but that works out well, since I like to keep it open unless I leave the house. Opening the gate was different than expected, but it is easy enough to lift then pull. The big safety warning stickers were tough to remove. Hope this helps."

Warning regarding small dogs and puppies,

"We received our gate yesterday. My husband was able to set it up pretty quickly. We were a little concerned about the spacing of the bars. Jack is a Shih Tzu puppy weight approximately 4 pounds right now. Well, it didn't take long for Jack to get his head through the bars and get stuck. My husband was able to get Jack's head out by turning the pup's head and sliding it back through. We won't be using this gate until Jack is bigger and can't get his head through the bars. Overall, we're pleased with the operation and the ease of using the gate, but please be careful with little dogs or puppies."

Beware - maximum width!,

"The description on this website says that the gate fits a maximum width of 39" with the enclosed 2-rail extension. The maximum width is actually 38" (as described on the box and in the instructions)! The opening I planned on using this gate in was 38.5 inches, and even though the brackets on the sides are adjustable, the instructions say NOT to exceed a certain width on them and for good reason: the gate would become quite insecure and unsafe.
My gate unfortunately was damaged during shipping and was completely unaligned, so I didn't get a chance to actually install it yet because I have to return it. But I did want to warn others that anything wider than 38" is going to require extra extensions, despite the product description saying 39"."

The best pet gate ever,

"I recently purchased an auto close gate for the room that my Saint Bernard puppy, Mallory, will be staying in when I am at work. It arrived today and I am very impressed. It is very well made, sturdy metal unlike some flimsy plastic pet gates I have seen, and was fairly easy to assemble. It was well worth the money I spent for it!"

"We are dog lovers of Chihuahuas (and more) and we purchased this gate to keep them from going out a door that isn't safe for them to go out. I have a total of 9 in the house and because of this gate they are all safe. I love this gate. I don't have to worry about turning around and shutting it because it does it for me. The only problem is that it's bars are spaced a little wide and small puppies can fit through them. Like I said I love this gate and well worth the price!"

"After years of trying to step over the gate and balance my plate of food and drink, I am one happy camper! I didn't even know they made these gates with the swinging doors! This one is great and I was surprised how heavy duty it is. We didn't permanently install it. We have the pressure at a bare minimum so that it opens without having to lift it first. This way our dog can't come into the room but I can still open it with my foot if my hands are full. If we have kids come over, we just tighten the pressure and then it's kid proof also. It took me a little time to figure out how to work it at the tight level...lift and then open! I would definitely recommend this to anyone!"

What a relief!,

"We've had pets for years and own two large pet gates that have the latching bar. Finally I have access to rooms without having to climb over a gate or drop half the things in my arms because I have to struggle to lift the bar. The gate is very functional and makes my life a lot easier. My husband said he didn't know a gate could make me so happy. The self closing mechanism is nice but I would love my gate even if it didn't have that feature. We didn't install it permanently in one location so we can move it to other areas. Installation directions were a little difficult to follow at first."
