This is the best feeder for feeding finches nyjer seed I've found so far and I've gone through dozens. Finches flock to this feeder and it's not uncommon for me to see +15 finches feeding at once. A veritable finchfest!
These screen feeders NEVER clog, whereas a tube feeder is rendered useless by a couple of wayward sunflower seeds.
If you're going to shell out for the expensive seed, you want to see the birds. If you buy this feeder, they will come!
Pros: never clogs, 20+ birds can feed at once, easy to fill and clean
Cons: wish it had a hook hanger instead of loop

I have used the plastic feeders for years and no matter what I did the squirrels destroyed each and every one of them thus costing me a lot of money. This feeder is perfect. The squirrels cannot get to the bird seed and leave the feeders alone. The birds enjoy feeding all over the feeder due to the wire mesh.
I've had this feeder for years, it is made of metal and last a long time. I had a plastic one before that broke after 2 years. I've had this feeder for several years, no problems and the finches like these screen feeders.

The Stokes Select Finch Screen Feeder is an excellent product. It is made well, easy to clean, and priced modestly. Using Nejur seed, a thistle, but specific (very dark oily) it has attracted finch, chickadee, titmice, and cardinals in our yard (southeast Texas). The squirrels do not seem interested in thistle seed, and that, in our estimation, is a good thing. Highly recommend this product.
