I bought this cage a couple months ago. My daughters gerbil chewed through the tower and escaped then chewed through the blue plug and escaped. I now have damage in my brand new built home and have to buy a new cage because this cage is not escape proof like it says. I also agree with everyone else, this cage is not easy to clean at all. I am very disappointed.

great cage but get add ons

so i just got it today to add onto my other cage but the min cage size is 360 square feet but adding onto a critter cage is a good thing but the critter cage dazzle is way to small for even 1 dwarf hamster the wheel is a little loud but i would say get a silent spinner or other wheel to put in there to because they will make a nest out of them. so i would say over all they are really good cage when added on to ther cages and so i think that critter trail needs to make a bigger cages and not to make them on what they think will sell!!!!!!!!

Impossible to clean and hamster refuses to come out when trying to clean. Water container is extremely difficult to take on and off. Impossible to clean wheel no matter what I try. Do not buy this cage!!!

Wheel is not for dwarf hamsters

The cage is spacious enough for a dwarf hamster, however, Mr. Scrubbles (a winter white) can't spin the wheel at all. He likes to use it as a potty area, and it is a pain to clean. I agree with other reviews that the parts are difficult to clean because they do not come apart easily. My 10 y/o son wants to be independent with the hamster's care, but he needs me to take the cage apart in order to clean it well. I will probably end up purchasing a cage that is easier to clean.

Droppings Flinger!

Because hamsters are rodents, they produce a lot of droppings. When my daughter's hamster spends any amount of time in the wheel, there ends up being droppings. When the hamster moves the wheel, the droppings then flings out of the air vents all along the wheel. Therefore, there ends up being droppings scattered all around the cage, on the floor, stuck to the wall, behind the table where the cage sets...it is GROSS! Other than that, I LOVE this brand of cage. Just, don't buy this one. I would recommend going with one of the models in which the wheel is enclosed inside the cage.

The wheel doesn't turn well, but our hamsters love to tunnel and nap in it. They love the cage. When we take them out for petting and put them down they run right back to the cage. If the door is shut they will climb up the sides looking for a way in. They are happy there and it's "home sweet home" to them and that's what's really important.

Many people say this cage is bad... But boy are they wrong! I love this cage for my Winter White Hamster! She loves to run around in all the tubes! It comes with a food dish and water bottle! Perfect size for my little hammie! The directions to assemble this cage were not written well! The wheel is a little hard for my hamster to run in but hopefully she will learn!

We are a first-time hamster family and have had our hamster and cage for approximately one month.
The design of the wheel sounds good in theory, being able to take it off. However, the friction of our hamster running on the wheel is causing the plastic to wear down VERY fast. the door in the wheel is already broken and we have had to tape it shut.
We have been cleaning her cage 1-2x/week and it is a hassle because the tubes don't come apart or reattach easily.
I do not recommend this cage because of the moving parts. I am thinking of replacing the wheel with more tubes and getting a separate wheel for her to run on

I had bought a hamster and this cage in the same day. Beings how she was a female, I wanted to get her a cage that had a feminine touch. She absolutely loves her wheel! She is always in it! She has made herself a nest in the tower and loves to sit up there and look around. I agree with another review, it makes it easier to grab them as well. I have noticed a white powder under the wheel, but that just means it's getting good use lol. I don't fear of the powder going into the cage because the top of the cage is solid! It is smaller than I thought. But i've managed to fit a small tree trunk in there for her to hide/sleep, a couple of toys and her food bowl. Overall, great product!

My hamster loves this cage. But the fitting for the wheel on top of the cage actually rubbed the plastic into powder. So there was plastic powder falling into her cage. I don't want the hamster having plastic shavings in her home.

I am writing this review because I feel this cage has gotten a bad rap. I love the cage and so does my two baby fancy Russian hamsters. The cage was very easy to put together I had it fully assembled in 20 minutes. The wheel works great and even though they are babies they can still easily move it. They love the tower they have made a nest and sleep up there. That is nice because they are easy to grab when they are up there. The cage wont be hard to clean just undo the bottom from the rest of the cage. They can not escape the one thing that i changed was the water bottle it came with i did not use because the bottle was not clear. So you could not see when they are out of water. So that was the only thing that i replaced on the whole system. Great product cant wait to buy more tunnels and expansion equipment for them. Would recommend!

My robo dwarf hamster absolutely LOVES the wheel. As for me, not so much. She has a hard time running sometimes, it gets stuck so i have to give it a little shove. The water bottle is REALLY hard to get of and you cant see through it. The cage can only fit the hide house, food bowl, toys & paper towel roll. I was cleaning this cage and she got lose when i put her in the ball!!!She was running around the floor and my dad had to catch her :) ( not hand tamed yet ) that had npthing to do with the review, but had to put it out there.

I have a teddy bear hamster. and I had to CUT OFF all of his hair for him to keep a fast walk in the wheel. As soon as I can afford, I'm going to be buying an extension pack with the wheel attachment because I was very disappointed and I had much higher expectations for this brand.

We bought this cage for my daughters teddy bear hamster,she instantly began nesting in the wheel that sits atop the cage,then she would try to run in the wheel after stuffing it with bedding and food,this is extremely loud and also causes her to get stuck in the debree,It is EXTREMELY hard to clean,the entire thing has to be taken apart,she has also escaped a few times.Even though its pretty I wouldnt reccomend the product .

I got this for my hamster recently. This cage is great for syrian hamsters. my hamster loves the tower and the wheel. The wheel makes some noise if you don't oil it. The assembly of the tower was a little difficult other than that it was pretty easy.
