I fed my rats this food and they ate most of it. They tended to avoid some pieces of food. I'm not really sure why but it is really great quality.

I don't really have time to mix up fresh fruits and veggies for my rats every day so I looked around for a healthy mix with fruit and vegetables in it to feed with my lab blocks and found Farmer Brown's line of food. My rats love it and will eat every bite, even the pellets which they wouldn't eat in their old food. It doesn't have very much corn or sunflowers, so I don't have to pick them out to keep them from getting too fat. I can easily recognize the bits of dried fruit and veggies in the mix and love the smaller pellets which are easier for my rats to hold and eat. My only complaint is that it is hard to find in the 5lb bulk bag.
Pros: smell, high quality, taste
Cons: price

I had never even heard of this brand before but I saw it while shopping for my ratties. My males are kinda picky in the sense that there was always alot of food left over on the bottom of their cup that they wouldn't even touch. I had used a cheaper store brand a few times but normally I used Fiesta since they like "different" things in their food and not just pellets. Even then they still only ate like half of it, (and I got my rats at different times from different places so they weren't just used to one food since they had totally different histories). I searched around the shelf of Rat food and this Tropical Carnival was the only one that wasn't heavy on the boring pellets and seemed to have the most stuff in it. I'm not thrilled about the size/price since it's a small bag that is expensive compared to other brands. BUT my males love it. They eat nearly everything in the bowl which is a first. The only things that are left are the seed shells and those little black things. I think they are raisens but I'm not sure. I give one small scoop in the morning and one small scoop at night and that seems to be a good balance since otherwise they will just pig out. Since this is the best food for them that I've found so far I guess I'll just have to keep buying it. Great for rats, just a pain to clean up afterward since all the shell pieces go everywhere.

Food looks okay, but rats won't eat it

My two rats are not usually picky eaters, but for whatever reason, they refuse to eat this food. It does have a strong fruity aroma to it, which I think they may not like. It looks like a good mix of food with not too many fillers, but unfortunately, I have to go back to a different brand.
Pros: good mix of food
Cons: strong fruity smell, rats won't eat it.

I've had several rats before. And they all ate Tropical Carnival. For a while, I switched to Forti-Diets, because the price was a little cheaper. None of my rats would touch them. Then I switched to Fiesta, the cheapest brand, and they didn't like it either. Eventually, after months of different foods, I went back to Tropical Carnival. You know what? It's worth the price in the end. My rats eat every single thing in their dish now.
Pros: good smell, rats seem to love it, has all nutritional needs, isn't artificial 'pellets'
Cons: small bag, little expensive

I just started buying this product for a couple of weeks now and its great!! When you open the bag it has an odd smell to it but it won't stink up your whole room or anything. My rats are always waiting at the door of their cage for it. They love it. I recommend this for any rat owner! It has pretty much all of their nutritional needs. Its great!

This has been my most successful food for rats. Typically they pick out certain pieces and leave others but this food they eat everything. The only thing I could wish for is that they sold it in a bigger bag. I find my males love it much more than my females, usually the males would polish off a whole serving with in an hour or two. But I guess my boys are just little piggies.
Pros: great for picky eaters

Hey fellow pet keepers! I think this mouse & rat diet is worth feeding your furry friend(s). It has a mixture of nuts, berries, vegies, fruit, seeds, grains, and a whole bundle of fun and joy! It has the form of treat & a dietary supplement! My mice love the pumpkin seeds, so I advise you use those as treats, along with the sunflower seeds. I hope you find this review to be helpful!

IF YOUR RAT IS NOT VERY ACTIVE, IT WILL GET OBESE FROM THIS FOOD (MINE DID). I RECCOMEND FEEDING A GOOD HIGH QUALITY LAB RAT CUBE AS THE MAIN DIET & USE THIS AS A ONCE A WEEK TREAT (IN SMALL AMOUNTS). IT IS VERY HIGH IN FAT AND CARBOHYDRATES (CEREAL BITS ARE CARBS. & SEEDS AND NUTS ARE THE FATS).

Pumpkin my rat will only eat the seed and some of the nuts. So I guess if your rat isn't picky this would be good.

Picky no more

I have 2 mice Chewy and Domino.I had a hard time getting Domino to eat the nutripase or fiesta.Meanwhile chewy would eat only sunflower seeds and a few grains. As soon as i got this food they smelled it and literally ran to the top of their 2 story house :) and checked it out. After a while they both started eating it.I was so glad that Domino was eating it,her favortie is the sunflower seeds and the peas.So over all this food has the biggest assortment of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and even has crunchy peices so satisfy their need to chew :).So if u have a finiky eater, this is the food for them.(IT EVEN SMELLS GOOD)!!

Good Supplemental Food

This isn't my first choice for rat food, but I do occasionally buy it to add a little variety to my rats' diet. This mix has a few things that other mixes don't have, which is nice. I prefer to mix it in with my rats' usual food.
