Did as the instructions dictated. Waited over 24 hours to dissolve. It did not dissolve 100%. I waited another 24 hours to make sure, but it left a small amount of mixture in my buckets, as well as residue.

I'm gonna try another salt mix next time.

I've been using Instant Ocean for years and have never had any problems with it. Very reliable, safe, and excellent quality! I would definitely recommend it to experienced and novice saltwater hobbyists alike!

After having problems with another salt many years ago, and knowing many others through the Marine/Reef Aquarium Club who had problems with another prominent marine aquarium salt, we all switched to this salt which some had sworn by for years. Instant Ocean has worked very well for all of us since. I wont sue anything else anymore. No more problems from companies who make salt mixes with poor batch to batch consistency. Instant Ocean Salt has always been very stable! I've been keeping reef Aquaria since 1993 and love it, as do virtually all who walk into my living room (only a well kept very simple but gorgeous 75 gallon tank in my living room nowadays).

Been using this product on my 40 gal reef tank for over 2 years now. I will never buy pr-mixed water again. If you know your tank, and know your fish, you know what chems and mixture you need to get it right. Simple

I got spoiled on Oceanic. This stuff takes forever to dissolve and mixes up about twice the strength if you follow their directions. Will never buy again.

I like Instant Ocean because it's very consistent and Petsmart always has it at a great price. But, reef tank use the calcium and magnesium aren't high enough which is a problem. To correct this I add Ocean's Blend calcium and magnesium when I mix a batch of salt water and the problem is solved.

don't use it on reef tanks, it requires a lot of added chemicals. if you use it on fish only tanks, you might want to add some Essential Elements(Kent Marine) to the water.
