perfect disguise

I bought this for my two kittens that I just brought home. They are about 11 weeks old. Since I live in a one bedroom apartment my biggest worry was where to put the litter boxes! This allows me to keep one in the living room and it is perfectly hidden. So far, I have not had any problems with them going outside the box, but they are very small still. They use small litter pans so I just put down newspaper to catch the excess litter that they kick out because their pans don't come close to filling this box up...it's huge! It didn't get delivered until I had had them for a few days so I was really worried about them adjusting to it, but they went right for it. As far as the smell, it does keep it within the box, but you will notice it when you open the box to scoop the poo. That may also be because they are on non clumping litter right now too because they're still too young to be on clumping, so I can only scoop the poo. But the only downfall I would say this has is the lid is a little heavy. I hope it stands up when they get bigger!

We were searching everywhere for a litter box that was enclosed for our two cats. They are both larger cats about 15-20 lbs. The product came fully assembled which was nice. They loved it from day one and used it without any issues. We haven't had any problems with odor.

Great job of containing odor and litter

I have three cats and I love that I can use a "jumbo" sized litter pan inside this enclosure. Recently I was interrupted as I was scooping the litter pan, and subsequently left the enclosure lid off it for an hour or so. When I walked downstairs I could smell the odor, that's when I realized how effective a job the enclosure actually does at containing odor. It also keeps the tracking of litter to a minimum, although it isn't 100%. One of my cats loves to take naps on top of the enclosure. To open the enclosure when I scoop litter, I lift the lid as if I'm lifting a toy box, and then gently lower the lid downward, behind the enclosure. 'So easy! I'm considering purchasing another enclosure for when I downsize to an apartment, as my cats like privacy when I have friends over. My guess is they'd also use it to nap in. I'm thrilled with this enclosure. Give it a try, containing the odor and litter is well worth the price!

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my fiance and for Valentines day we adopted a beautiful kitten. I bought this box because since we live in an apartment our bathrooms were too small for a regular size litter box and I didn't want us tripping over the box. This box is absolutely perfect. We have it by the door in our bedroom. My fiance did doctor it a bit. After reading some of the reviews, I had the idea of getting one of those car rubber mats for trunks or bed of trucks. He lined the inside with it and used heavy duty tape to keep it in place...this way if there was a mess and she missed the box like some reviews had mentioned it wouldn't leak into the floor and carpet. It's easy to take out if needed to wipe it or hose it down. We got a high backed litter box for it and it fits perfectly. The lid is easy to take off and put back down, no hinges, so now my kitty has her privacy and we don't have to see her litter box either. It keeps most of the smell in the box. To also help contain the smell we bought the Litter Champ can and that is also a blessing. Friends and family come in to our apartment and they keep saying they cant believe we have a cat because it doesn't smell like it. :)

I purchased this a little over a year go thinking it would be great. It was supposed to be waterproof and could take larger sized litter boxes. I wasn't able to use to lid on my box with this, but I thought, okay, let's try it without that. That didn't work. My cats occasionally miss the litter box and urine gets on the liners. I used Arm & Hammer puppy pads underneath the litter box (which I still do to this day - works great), but still the urine made it to the supposed waterproof area and eventually started to seep out onto my rug (luckily I caught it in time), but I called Petsmart and told them I wanted to return the box because I was still within my 30 days (but then they told me because it was defective, I could return it at any time). So, I took it to my local store and returned it.
I think if the box was wider and deeper, it might work (and more waterproof), but there was more room for error the way it currently is.
Cons: not waterproof as stated, too small

I originally purchased this item to hide one of the cats litter boxes in a bedroom. I purchased the Rubbermaid high sided litter box to use inside of it. However, my cats were able to urinate over the sides and cleaning this up was a very unpleasant chore. I was unable to find a higher sided/larger litter box that would fit into the enclosure to use instead of the Rubbermaid one I had previously tried out.
So, I thought outside of the box, sort of speak, and since my cats love to hide and play inside any kind of box or any item they can walk, climb or jump into I put a blanket and a cat bed inside this enclosure and they absolutely love it! Once in there they are completly hidden and when we have guests over who are young children, and our cats do not like them, the cats will go inside this enclosure and feel safe and sucure until the children have left. They also take cat naps and sleep inside the enclosure now, too.
Several of my cats enjoy hanging out on the top of the enclosure and they also enjoy getting a relaly good stretch and scratching it.

I just bought my first house and because it's small I had a hard time finding a place to put the litter box. A convenient place was in the living room, but who wants to look at a litter box? This looks great and even helps keep some of the litter from getting on the floor. I paired it with the Rubbermaid High Sided Litter Pan (it fits, although you have to squeeze the sides in a little because of the handles) which works well. I was on the fence about buying this, but now that I have it, its definitely worth the price and I am very satisfied!

This product is great. It hides the litter box and contains the odors. It is large enough that the cats don't mind going in it. They also love scratching and playing on it.

I would recommend this to anyone with the need for a litter box, whether you needed it hidden or not. It keeps the litter inside when they scratch. I was very pleased at how large it is. I put the extra large litter pan in it, and there is still room. My cats love to lay on top of it, also. It is just great. I had a lot of trouble deciding what type to get, because I did want it concealed, and I just couldn't be more pleased with my choice. I was also surprised that it came all put together. Because of the price I received free shipping, and since it weighs 51 lbs. that was a good deal.

I love this & so do my cats. It's sturdy and very easy to maintain. It wipes clean and doesn't absorb odors. It also can double as a window perch. I have large cats and this gives them ample room to move around & do their business without going into contortions or sticking half way out of the box. We like it so much that I have ordered 2 more. (I have 6 cats) Try it, you'll like it!

I purchased this based on another reviewer's description of this item being "big". Well, here are the dimensions, since they are not provided on the website - 32" long x 19" wide x 19" high. This was not big enough to encase my Littermaid Elite litterbox (I have the regular, too, not the Mega). It was nicely made, however, I don't think it will accomodate any of the automatic litterboxes based on those dimensions. Just something to keep in mind if that is what you wanted out of this product. They make bigger ones elsewhere, so surf the web if you need one for this purpose.

I LOVE this product, and I have recommended it to several friends! I actually used to think about hiring a carpenter to make a litter enclosure like this one, so I was amazed to find it on the Pet Smart website. This works better than I ever could have dreamed. It keeps the litter inside, so that the little particles aren't tracked all over the house, and it actually contains the smell, too. We keep this litter enclosure in the den, and no one suspects what it is. Oh, and the kitties actually sit on it, too, just like in the picture on the Pet Smart website!

This purchase was an extravagance for me, but well worth the price! There aren't many places to keep a litter box in an apartment, so I used to have it in the bathroom. This meant stepping on litter tracks with bare feet even though I swept the room several times a day.
I purchased this box and put it in the far corner of the living area with the entrance toward the wall. This means the cats must exit slowly, which helps keep the tracking to a minimum. The enclosure keeps the sound of kitties scratching in the litter low, too! I threw a Navajo rug over the box and it looks like a side table. So, only the most astute visitor knows the litter box is there. Thanks for offering this product!

Not only does this serve as a liter box enclosure, but my cats love to scratch and sit on it. The best thing about it is that there is almost no trace of liter when they exit the box. Whenever I have guests, they don't even realize there is a liter box in it. I have two, one upstairs and one downstairs. I would highly recommend to anyone!

I bought this item with the same intention as everyone else. To hide the litter box from company, etc. I bought the biggest litter box tray I could buy to put inside. For some reason my cats (I have two of them) think they can urinate anywhere in this box, even outside the litter box. When I go to clean it it's a nightmare, there is cat urine everywhere and it soaks into the wood and the smell never dissappears. I have to get rid of it. It's a great idea, but it's too big.

I bought two of these litter box enclosures, one for each cat. I like the large size because one of my cats is a Maine Coon. I also like that the enclosure blends in with the rest of the room and no one knows that a litter box is inside the enclosure. My cats can kick the litter around and it stays inside of the enclosure, rather than getting on the floor. I think my cats also like that the enclosure provides some privacy. I have been very happy with this item.

I like this product don't get me worng, it's great! But my problem is that it is so big that I have been fighting with places in my apartment to put it. Since I have been pregnant my husband has to do the scooping and he fights with the lid and the size when it comes to doing a deep clean in there. So once we move into our new apartment I think I'll get a lid for smaller box that you must but inside this one, and use this as a kitty condo, since my cats love to play on it and having it in the living room like a toy and not a potty doesn't bother me.

I like this product because I was able to hide that litter box my husband absolutely hates. I clean the box 2-3 times/day, but I think just the site of the box and being able to see the cats use the box was definitely unsitely. The great thing about it is that it hides the smell better than having no top at all. I also could not believe the size. I looked at the measurements before I bought this item and could not believe it was that big....the cats love that....the 2 sisters will now go at the same time.....too funny....I suppose if you are a cat lover.
