I bought this brush to use on my standard poodle. I have other slicker brushes and they just do not work well on her coat. This brush works great and doesn't seem to poke the skin. Gets all the tangles out and my dog doesn't mind it. Oh course, she does like to get brushed.

I am a groomer of 6 years and I still have my brush that I bought 6 years ago!! Granted it is now my dirty dog brush, but it still works!! I will only use these brushes on my clients. The dowside of this brush is that it is not what I would recommend to a pet owner. The bristles are very firm and most pet owners may not know how to properly use this brush without brush burning the dog. But for us professional groomers, it is te number one brush in my book!!

I'm a salon manager at a PetSmart location, and this brush is the best there is. It is a hard slicker so you don't have to press to hard. It breaks through most of the tough knots......The only down side is it is only sold online. I recommend it to all the pet parents out there dog or cat. Just AMAZING!!!! Another down side is that if you are rough on the brush it does break easy.

Pros: breaks through most matts, you don't have to brush to long or to hard

Cons: they do break easy if you are to ruff.
