I had to switch from my normal hand feeding formula to Lafeber's because I was unable to get my normal and needed it, First I used it to hand feed 5 Green Cheek Conures, then about 2 months Later I'm using it to hand feed 2 Lovebirds and 4 Budgies, This formula is very clumpy and takes A lot of water to get the clumps out, then it's too runny, so a lot is wasted trying to get it just perfect, and unless its pure water it will not go into a syringe I have to use a spoon and transfer it from bowl to syringe which is very messy and more wasted! Also they're needing re fed every 1-2 hrs at 1 1/2-2 months old when while using my old formula I fed every 6 hrs from the time I pulled them 2-3 weeks old. because they were still full, Having to feed them so much during the day means it's not staying in the crop like it should, and that means they're not getting the nutrition they're supposed to get. I have hand fed the same species With my other brand that I have been using for several years, and my babies were very nice and big when weaned and they are NOT that way on this formula, they're smaller and less robust, and I know its the formula! and Will never use it again, I'm just glad a bird fair is coming up this weekend and I can get a stock pile of my normal hand feeding formula, so I won't ever have to use this 'trash' again. it also doesn't help it is only sold in 11 oz tubs for $10 (roughly) I pay $28 for 10 pounds of My normal formula , this formula only lasted me 3 days for 5 birds, I can use that same amount of my normal formula for the same amount of birds and it'll last me at least a week and half if not more. I have been hand feeding birds long enough and have used enough different formula's to know the good from the trash, and this is not good formula. the only thing I did like about it, is it didn't Dry on like concrete, it's easy to wipe off because its like Paste and it doesn't harden in the birds feathers. Other than that I don't like it and won't ever recommend it Pros: Cleans off birds easily Cons: Price, size of container, low quality food, have to use more, feed more often, pretty much everything about it is a con except that it cleans off the birds easily.
Cons: price, low quality

I have an 8 month old African Grey parrot that got very, very sick. I brought her to the vet and they told me I would have to start hand feeding her again. My bird hated hand feeding as a baby and I thought I would have to start fighting her to eat. When she was younger she was on another forumula, apparantley she must not have liked that one becauase she eats so much of this. She has gained about 24 grams in just five days!! I highly reccomned this product to anyone with a baby bird or anyone with a sick bird.

After finishing a supply of Emeraid for my two ill juvenile cockatiels, a manager in a Petsmart recommended this wonderful product. When I first got these birds, I did not realize they were weak from being underweight. This is a serious condition, and is the cause of most problems with birds. Make sure your pets eat a good, varied diet. If not, you must take steps to help them maintain good health. Mix the powder formula with organic baby food and boiling water. Use a food thermometer and feed at the proper temperature with a syringe. Your bird will thrive. Good for adult birds that may not eat properly. I have become a "Lafeber believer"! Can be mixed with other lesser-known products available only online from small independent labs for weight gain and appetite enhancement.
