Truly versatile, these powerheads feature suction cups/clamps to fit most frames, variable flow control, horizontal and vertical flow adjustment. The Quick Filter turns powerheads into "quick filters" for rapid removal of debris, the Quick Filter Cartridge is extra thick for expanded waster removal capacity.

Just purchased this item this morning. After setup everything, it made me so surprise. It's so quiet and powerful. only one thing is I can't put the lid on, that powerhead's size just a little bit wide. I'm going to decide return or still keep it tonight.

Short lived pump!

This pump works great at first and is very reasonably priced. It keeps my 75 gallon fresh water aquarium clean WHEN it works. My pump just quit working AGAIN! I have replaced this pump 3 times in the last 8 years.

This is the best filter for high-waste fish like goldfish or large cichlids. It has a large amount of media for physical filtration and because of this it provides good biological filtration (once the tank is cycled).
On a larger tank, I like to combine a cartridgeless Penguin to use the bio wheel to really knock out the ammonia and nitrite.

I got the Aqua Clear power head 20 to replace an old aquarium air pump that got too loud for me. When I unboxed it, I was surprised at how many things it came with. A clamp (if you don't have a lid) suction cups, air flow adjuster, intake adapters, air hose, and of course, the power head. It had very detailed instructions, but it was very simple to assemble and start up. It is very quiet(if I didn't see the bubbles I wouldn't know it was on), and it is small enough that it can be hidden behind the decorations easily. But most importantly, it is powerful. It makes a good current all the way across my 20 gallon long tank, and it does a great job of aerating the water. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks on this power head. It is a quality product that does not disappoint! I will definitely be purchasing from Aqua Clear again!
Pros: quiet, adjustable flow rate, adjustable air flow, small, powerful, versatile, suction cups don't let go
Cons: none

After having my Marineland Penguin Biowheel for only 6 months, it just stopped working. The first thing I noticed is Aquaclear is much quiter! The lid snaps on securely and instead of the water flow adjustment being on the intake tube, it's right on the top so you don't have to go in the water. Instead of killing off all the bacteria at once with EXPENSIVE filter cartriges, it has 3 different kinds of filter media that ends up being HALF as MUCH and lasts TWICE the time of the Marinelands. The best feature is that it runs 200 not 150 like the others, cycling the water much better and was cheaper than the others that had a lesser turnover. If you're just getting a filter or trying to decide, this is the one for sure!

I bought 2 AquaClear Model 402 - output 270 gph, reverse flow 125 gph, up to 50 gallons for my 60 gallon tank and loved the reverse flow (no bubble sounds) that I ordered 2 more for my 55 gal. Have used AquaClear products since I first set up my fish tanks many, many years ago...only I should have ordered one more for my 30 gal! Great product and would highly recommend it for anyone that has multiple fish tanks and doesn't want all the bubble sounds of a powerhead.

I have maxijet 1200s as well as these in the 50 model. The maxijets consume more power, for almost the same gph, so if all you want is great water flow with venturi, this is great.
The quick filter attachment works well, and to save cost, you can use regular polyfiber for the quickfilter filter sleves.
