"I got this for my 29 gallon planted tank. My plants were dying and I learned it was because they need Co2 to live. I did a lot of research on the Internet to find the best product and even found some do it yourself stuff. However, this one came up on top. I got one from PetSmart (I looked and the price was cheapest there). I installed it in my tank (a snap) and within a few weeks I could see a major difference in how healthy and green my plants were. I went back for a second one in my 20 gallon tank.
The refill packets are too costly, they really are. All they are is yeast and baking powder. However, after making my own for one tank and using the store bought in another, I have found they do actually work better. Really they don't need refilled more than every month or two so, even at the high cost I think it is worth it.
One big thing to check if you are going to buy the refills is CHECK THE DATE! If it is old, it won't work! IT even says so on the instructions that come with it. Don't get old stuff!
I would recommend this to a friend. It isn't often that a product exceeds my expectations but these nifty little things did. If you want live plants in your tank (and you do) then this is a must and it is literally $100+ dollars less than Co2 injection systems and simple to maintain. Simple and it works!"

"I had my doubts at first but this really does seem to work and it’s an amazing concept. Once you attach the provided tubing to the bubble diffuser you will notice water will enter the tube and fill up to the same level as your aquarium water. But after attaching the other end of the tube to the canister and waiting a few hours I noticed the CO2 started pushing the water level inside the tube back into the aquarium and a few hours later there was no water in the tube and CO2 bubbles started up the diffuser. Although I just recently bought this product, I’m still waiting to see the results it has on my planted aquarium. The only “con” I have found is the outrageously priced activator and stabilizer tablets (which is nothing more than yeast that can be found at your local grocery store). I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a planted aquarium. It’s easy to set up, easy to use, easy to maintain, and A LOT cheaper than the “other” CO2 injectors."

Pros: very good for beginners, cheap compared to other systems Cons: needs a little tinkering
"I bought this product and installed in my fish tank and within a few days i was getting exellent results. But to "turn it off" i had to add a contoll valve so i at night the CO2 would be stored in a balloon. this turned out to be a very good idea."

"My plants were dying and I decided to get rid of all of them but one. I went to petsmart and bought 3 new plants and this CO2 plant system. At first I was worried because nothing was happening when I set it up. Two days later the bubbles started flowing. It is quite entertaining watching the bubbles work their way throught the defuser. Two weeks later, my plants are flourishing and my dying plant is comimg back to life."

"i just bought one for my 20 gallon planted tank. i was a little uneasy thinking it wouldnt work. but after 24 hours the bubbles move right along the ladder and SOME of my plants are doing good, but that just depends on how healthy the plants are. really easy to use, looks cool, and is pretty cheap for my fist one!"

"yeah this is nice for beginners or people who really dont care to much for the professional look. if you are serious about aquascape then you need to invest in a advance Co2 system. the downfall to this product is that the Co2 output is 24 hrs a day. Plants do not need Co2 at night, which can cause more problems than you started out with. My advice if you need Co2 and are serious about plants in your aquarium - RESEARCH AND INVEST!"

"Once set up correctly, this product is great. I have it hooked into my 75 gallon tropical tank and my plants are flourishing. It took two days of operation for my plants to take off and grow. I love this product, especially for the price versus Expensive Co2 systems"

"This co2 generator seems to work fine. My plants are already looking better after about 5 days. Its really easy to setup and starts working pretty fast. I found on the web where you can actually use your own baking soda and yeast for the stablizer and activator which would only cost you pennys to operate it."
