Nice cage, February 17, 2010
by Pets5 from Montvale, NJ

"I got this cage for my two birds a year and a half ago and it is pretty nice. Since one bird died the other one got the cage all to himself. It has a lot of room and the horiazontal bars are good for climbing. This cage however, is hard to clean. Because you have to lift up the whole cage in order to get the pan. It has lasted well through the years though."

Overall, not a good cage., December 8, 2009
by birdiee from USA

Pros: horizontal bars, nice quality stand if you buy it, stand has a nice shelf, no paint so minimal toxicity
Cons: dimensions on all sizes of these cages aren't good, hard to clean, flimsy bars, birds not very much separated from waste, easy-to-open locks, plastic part can crack easily, food on bottom encourages nesting

"This cage frustrates me. I had heard good reviews about it and bought it for my bird. First off, the plastic part partially shattered when I was putting it together. I figured it was no big deal and started using the cage, I have been for a year or so now.
Also, this cage is extremely hard to clean. To clean it, you have to take apart the entire cage. The top lifts off, but it is not a good option for someone with a territorial female bird. Seed and feathers and dust all get stuck between the little latches that keep the plastic part together. The waste guards that are supplied did not sit well with my bird, either.
Also, the locks are insufficient. The plastic food door locks are very very easy for a smart bird to unlock from the inside, they have a little piece sticking out inside that just has to be turned for the door to be opened. This is a problem for homes with birds who should not be out unsupervised with no one around.
Overall, I do not like this cage, if you think that you may have any of the above problems, I encourage you not to buy it."

"Stylish and easy to clean. Very little food manages to escape to the floor. Purchased it fully assembled so do not know how hard or easy it is to put together. Recommended!"

Best bird cage for little birds ever!, July 1, 2009
by ljbnh from NH

"This cage is, as probably everyone has mentioned already, thoughtfully designed and well executed. It is easy to clean, the plastic sides keep the house clean, and the covers over the food and water are very useful.
One thing I would like to add to other reviews is that the small wires with close spacing are perfect for little birds to climb around.
I have a lineolated parakeet and linnies climb and run more than they fly, and my little guy loves this cage. There is not another cage out there that is as well designed as this one for climbing."

Pros: large., great for birds and hamsters.

"I do not use this as a bird cage. Im sure as a bird cage its wonderful, but it makes a FANTASTIC hamster cage. After all the trouble with the "actual" hamster cages, and how easily they broke or how small they were, I saw this one day and I knew it would be perfect for him. Its wide enough that he can run around, and be happy and not get a leg cramp in such tiny cages. :)"

By far the best 21st cent bird cage, December 28, 2008
by Anonymous from San Antonio, Tx

"The over all is when you get a bird cage with the skirt that catches the seeds are very unhelpful and still creates mess on the floor. Versus this particular cage has a sheild to keep the seeds in the cage. I love this cage and very organize for the birds. But, the only down fall is the clear part does create water stains when you have a bird bath at the bottom of the cage. Some how you would have to take the cage apart or stick your hand in their to wipe it down. But for me, it's not a problem and does'nt bother me one bit. Just the fact that it is very convienent to keep clean. YOU MUST GO INSIDE AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAGE AND IT'S A GREAT INVESTMENT."

"After looking at several bird cages, and having one or two of them, I decided immediately on Vision Brand / the first time I saw it.
Easy to assemble, and most of all to clean. My pets, enjoy their new home. My concern now is obtaining the Night Cover for this model(MO2)AND the Vision Planter. I have not been successful so far.
This bird cage and stand is a must-"

BEST CAGE EVER!, June 27, 2008
by lydb from NJ

"I read the rave reviews before buying, and they are true! I've had small parakeets and small hookbills for years. This is the first cage that has impressed me. It contains seed and is a joy to clean; I wash the bottom and change paper towels daily. The horizontal bars are a plus for climbing birds and the top side handles distribute the cage weight evenly when moving. I'm ordering the stand today. Buy this product, you will LOVE it! (I'm a fussy buyer.)"

My budgies in their vision cage
User submitted photo
"I have had this cage for my 2 budgies for almost a year and I love it! The acrylic catches most mess, the horizontal bars allow for easy climbing around the cage, the side doors allow you to change the food and water without bothering the birds too much, and the platform front doors allow the birds to go in and out as they please. The food cups are great--I love how there's two sections, since it allows both birds to eat at once without bothering each other, and the mess guard above the food really keeps mess out of the food and water! I also bought a 48 inch ladder and hung it from the cage to the floor, and the birds are able to spend most of the day out of the cage and go back in to eat whenever they want. I also love the cage stand--I have gotten so many complements, and people who don't even have birds want to know where I got it. The whole setup is very attractive. It is also extremely easy to clean well, since the cage comes apart easily and goes back together easily as well (and is also extremely sturdy)! The problem is that in order to clean the cage you have to take the entire top of the cage off from the bottom, which could be a problem if your birds aren't tame. Also the clips that hold the cage together snap off easily, and I've lost a few when transporting the cage in the car (though they can easily be replaced with twist ties). I also don't really like the plastic perches, and one of my budgies sometimes slips off of it when she's playing on it, so I just replaced the perches with more sturdy rope, cement, and wood. I would definitely recommend this cage for anyone with tame small birds--it's very good for allowing them the freedom to explore the world!"

This cage is the reason I bought a parakeet!, April 9, 2008
by lotsObirds from TX

"I love this cage and so does my little parakeet! I have many larger birds (in heavy, welded steel cages) and I wanted a little "finger bird" that I could play with. I've always decided against it because the cages of the past were so darned messy to clean. You know - the seed hulls and dust and usually water gets between the drawer thingy and the bottom of the cage...then it starts to mold...and it is nearly impossible to take out the drawer thingy...and it always terrifies the birds...etc...etc. Not THIS cage! I saw it and decided I would get a budgie to go with it. It has a bottom that is sort of like a cat litter pan that just snaps off with two sturdy plastic latches. It holds litter in the bottom under a grill so birds don't get into the litter or their droppings. The pan is sturdy and can be washed in the sink then just fill with fresh litter or line with newspaper and snap the cage back on! The medium cage is a very generous size and it has twin doors on the front which close with sturdy plastic knobs. I love that I can open them both to rearrange toys easily, or open just one to access my pet.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the feeding bowls are wonderful too. There is a large, hinged access-door over each bowl. When the doors are latched shut, the bowls are locked in place and when the doors are opened, the bowls have an easy-to-grip divider to lift them out. They even include two shields to go over the bowls and keep roosting birds from getting droppings in their feed or water bowls. (And they actually work!)
I didn't think I would like the perches which were included as they are plastic and have slots or holes in them. I even bought manzanita branches in case my keet didn't like the supplied perches. Well, I was mistaken. My bird loves the included perches and I'm going to buy more. They are comfortable - my keet actually prefers them to the manzanita branches) and the slots are wonderful for hanging toys from. I don't have to hang every toy from the ceiling of the cage. My keet loves to stand on the perch and lean over and grab the dangling toys.
The bottom four or five inches of the cage are made of crystal clear acrylic which (for me) contains all the mess usually created by wing-flapping and bathing. It is a little wider than the bar part of the cage so it doesn't get droppings on it. Dust and splashes wipe off very easily.
Finally, one of the best features of this cage is that the bars are horizontal instead of vertical (as they usually are on other cages.) It's very hard for birds to climb around on vertical bars, but on this cage, my little keet just clambers around easily and with confidence. I can hang toys on the bars and they can slide back and forth to entertain the bird.
The only draw back is that there is no handle on top of the cage. The design makes in necessary for it to be carried by the hand grips on the base of the cage (like a tray) instead but that's a minor issue. I don't tote the cage around much.
I highly recommend this cage for small birds - probably up to three parakeets or two cockatiels. I would not have bought a parakeet if I had not found this perfect cage and I'm so glad I did!"

"I love this cage. I have two parakeets in it and there is plenty of space. I bought it to eliminate seed spills, and so far it has eliminated 99.9% of them! The food guards are also great! There has been no more soiled food or water since I bought the cage! The food bowls lock in so that even your destructive birds cant move them, which is a big plus for anyone with a destructive bird like mine. It is not the most attractive cage out there, but I would say that it is the best. I love it so much I am considering the large cage for my parrot. I encourage any bird owners to try it out! It is worth the price!"

Finally the perfect cage!, November 12, 2007
by finch6 from Chicago, IL

"Have never reveiwed a product on line before, but felt compelled to go in and review this product. Bought the medium Tall (M02) unit from PetSmart store after getting fed up with seeds and water scattering everywhere, difficulty cleaning cages that bend and fall apart. We have 6 finches (they "accidentally" reproduced). This cage is a amazing. Almost everything is accessible to clean from the outside - including the perches and waste shields, and the feeding cups are simple to remove and clean/refill. The waste shields do a great job keeping even the water clean for more than a day. The crystal-clear shield at the bottom holds all the seeds and most of the flying feathers inside the cage. It is VERY sturdy and I put it together in about 20 minutes. The birds love it because they have so much room now. I highly recommend this for finch owners! It looks like a professional aviary!"

"I just bought this cage last week because the hubby was complaining of the mess my 2 budgies make in the old cage. Now, no complaints. It really keeps the mess in. My only gripe is to clean the cage you have to take the whole cage up. I was initially using paper towels as a liner but now I use like corn cob and cleanup is alot quicker. I clean the cage once a week. I wasn't crazy about the perches but I put 2 natural wood ones in and its like the Taj Mahal for my 2 budgies. Definitely would recommend."

Cool Cage!!, July 7, 2007
by Elissa from Texas

"I bought this cage for my parakeet Spike because his old one was too small. It is very practical, it keeps any seeds he might spill in the cage, because of its plastic shields and it's quite roomy for one small bird, it could hold a maximum of three I think. The design of the door is excellence, much better than the guillotine style doors on other cages and the perches provided are actually quite good, I actually kept them. The food and water bowls are also great because each bowl is separated into two compartments, so it's like you have two sets of bowls. Plus, its the most attractive cage I've seen. There is one drawback though, there is no slide out tray for cleaning, but all you have to do is open two clips and just lift the top off, it only takes a few more seconds than using a slide out tray."

Great Parakeet Cage!, March 8, 2007
by RussD from Roanoke, VA

"We chose this high end cage as our starter cage because we were concerned about mess. It was very easy to assemble, and it is very easy to clean. I just remove the top and clean the bottom much like a cat's litter box. I use Kay-Kob in the bottom. The double door opening makes it easy to get the birds in and out, and they even perch on the doors kind of like a little porch area. It really does keep the mess to a minimum - usually the only mess we have is when we hang millet or other treats for them to eat. The seed from the feeder cup pretty much stays in the cage. Highly recommend."
