I first added this to my fish tank, when my betta got sick. It started acting and looking better when I added it to the water. It adds a slime coat to the tank, to be prepared to get sorta slimy.

Great for new tank setup

I recently set up a new 29 G tank for African Cichlids. I added this product 1 day after I put fish in the tank. Two days later I found some mucus-like thing on my tank. I think the bacteria in it start to proliferate very fast. It is definitely good for new tank setup.

I have tried several products for water conditioner and this is the best! I notice immediate improvement with my water and fish. I own South American Cichilid this product has calm my oscar. My aquarium now contains very clear water and happy less stressful fish. I highly recommend API Stress Zyme.

As a newbie to the world of freshwater tropical aquariums (although my husband is more experienced), I did what most people do when they need to research something: I Googled. Having learned all about cycling and New Tank Syndrome and the Nitrogen cycle, etc. we used Stress Zyme and Stress Coat initially, and now our aquarium is in its 3rd week with 8 guppies, 4 cory cats, 3 otos, and a betta...and we STILL haven't seen any ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate with our daily water tests (both strips and drops, just to make sure). We haven't lost any fish, the water clears up from bacterial blooms pretty quickly, and it's just going fantastic so far. My husband attributes our good fortune to this product.

I have been using Stress Zyme for more than 10 years now and I love it. I have used it to help cycle all of my new aquariums and have been dazzled with the effect. I like that this product is fast acting and goes straight to work as soon as I add it to my tanks. Stress Zyme does exactly what it says it will do on the bottle and doesn't make my water cloudy either. I have also used Stress Zyme on my established tanks and have been very pleased to see that works fast even on established tanks. I would recommend this product to beginners and novices alike.

This came with our aquarium. We only used it a couple of times (we don't use it everytime we change the water...only for very stressful times like when we add more fish or when a fish accidently jumps out). As for the fish jumping out that was once and under the care of someone else when we were away. Sorry for my sidetracking. Anyways I don't think this is worth the investment. Also my fish are fine with just the water conditioner.

I bought this product in hopes of cycling my tank faster - because, of course, it is advertised to "boost your biological filter". As far as that objective is concerned, it literally did absolutely nothing to help the tank cycle. It in fact prevented it from doing so. It claims to release millions of good bacteria into your water column. Problem is they are already dead and useless by the time you break the seal. Nitrifying bacteria are aerobic organisms and by definition need air to survive and need to be refrigerated. The only reputable product I have found to do this - and I'm not sure if I am permitted to use the actual name - comes in a pouch, is dated, and comes refrigerated. Stress Zyme is essentially a useless product for the purpose of tank cycling. Whether or not it serves any secondary purpose, I am unaware. I would not recommend this product for new aquariums. Bombarding your water with too many products at the start will surely impede the progress of your biological filter. Use API's Stress Coat and then treat with Bio-Spira by Marineland.

I absolutely love this product and believe it or not so do my fish. It helps to keep all 3 of my tanks super clean for a longer period of time and for some reason it seems to calm down my fish. I have African Cichlids and they can get pretty mean at times but after I have treated the tanks, they seem to just relax and just enjoy themselves and play with each other and not fight as much. I have a happy little group. I have a total of 17 fish. Going to get more tanks and more fish & more Sress Zyme!

I STARTED USEING BETTA SPA TO HELP WITH MY BREEDING PROGRAM IT WORKED SO WELL NOW I'M USEING BETTA SPA IN ALL OF MY BETTAS CONTAINERS THEY ARE MUCH MORE ACTIVITY. I HAVE RECOMENDED BETTA SPA TO EVERYONE I KNOW THAT HAS BETTAS AND IT'S EASY TO USE.
