I purchased a package of this moss for my pet mantis. He doesn't crawl around on it very often because he likes to hang upside down. His crickets do hide in the moss but he still gets them. I spray the moss with water twice per day to keep the humidity up for the mantis. It does smell mossy but that doesn't bother me. It was very dusty when I took it out of the package. Other than that I have no complaints.

Pros: not expensive, holds moisture to keep humidity up, natural look and feel, gives crickets a place to hide (they get ate)

Cons: smells mossy, a little dusty

I would recomended this product to a freind it is long lasting and my Leopored gecko can hide under it the only problem is that crickets and worms if they get out of thier food dish can also hide in the moss.

While this moss is great for holding moisture, it's certainly not great if it gets wet. Once it gets wet it begins to stain everything it touches a very unnatural green colour. My water dishes and hiding rocks are permantently stained an unatractive green colour as a result of this moss. I would not use it again.

Our lizard requires sand base for his floor
It really likes curl up on slightly moist moss under his coconut half shell and wait for night to arrive
Just get it wet and sqeeze out excess moisture stick it somewhere in terrerium and VIOLA happy Gecko
