Petsmart did not have or does not carry the clarifier I normally use so I decided to try this brand. I followed the directions but it only made my tank cloudier. I had to go to another store to get the brand I usually use. After adding that, my tank was crystal clear in well less than two hours. The only good thing I can say about the product is at least it did not kill my fish.

I love to use this product. I do give out 1 warning. If you have real wood pieces in your fish tank. Take them out before you add this product. Something in the chemicals makes the particles in the wood become loose and it will never clear the water. I found this out while starting a new tank. Once i removed the wood cleaned the filter and then added another dose of Clarity it cleared up. I Never added the pieces of wood back into the tank just in case. Other than that its a great clarifier.

My fish tank was getting cloudy and I desided to use clarity. Clarity made my tank more cloudy which it says it will but it claims to clear in an hour, but it didn't. 24 hours pass and still realy cloudy I had to do a 30% water change just to get it back to the way it was.
Cons: didn't work

I just started a turtle tank and cloudiness was a big pain after numerous tries at playing around with combinations of media, i found this online so here i am reporting; yes it did start out yellow BUT under an hour the water was clear as if it was just newly added *CRYSTAL CLEAR*, i would highly recommend this product. I'm now researching their other products that may be used in my turtle tank.

I've tried many different clarifiers, from natural to chemical and this is by far my favorite. Yes, it does cloud your water for a little bit, but provided you followed the directions it sinks the crud to the bottom and clears up in no time. Excellent!
Pros: best on the market
Cons: has a yellow tint for 24+ hours

I have been battling a cloudy tank for 3 months. It has particles and some green in the water. I can't see the fish in the back of the tank or if I look from the side. I tried doing both more frequent and infrequent H2O changes. I tried an algae fix and an algae destroyer, I tried these really good polyfilter pads that usually clear anything, I tried accurel-F and something else like that, nothing worked at all. Then I went to my PetSmart store and young guy suggested the Seachem clarity. He actually advised me not to also purchase an algae remedy, he didn't want me to spend money if I didn't have to.
I went home, skeptical. I put in 1.5 capfuls. My tank instantly filled with what looked like a cloud of smoke. I was warned this would happen. I walked away. 3 hours later my tank was clearer than it had been in months. The next morning my daughter came in and said, "Mom, the tank is diamond clear!" And it was, HOORAY!!!!!!!!
Pros: very fast working, crystal clear h2o
Cons: i didn't discover this sooner.

Cleared up a horribly bad bacteria bloom

I had a major plant die off (duckweed) that turned my tank into a milky / murky mess. I waited for days after the dead / dying plants were removed knowing that the clouding should disappear, but it was just getting worse.. I had done many, many water changes, but the aquarium water had gotten to the point that I could not see the fish unless they were next to the glass. I was constantly checking my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels and the fish were FINE. 30 Years ago, I had used a diatom filter to clean up a tank this bad, but I didn't have one now. I bought the SeaChem Clarity, added it per the directions and within hours I could see an incredible difference. I dosed the tank again the next day after rinsing off the foam filter insert in my filter. Then I learned on one of the fish forums, that some folks were most successful by using multiple layers of blue 'filter floss' pads in their filters instead of the carbon...and replacing it the next day. Washing out the foam filter pad as well in tank water so that the biological filtration was upset as little as possible. The blue filter pads were packed with thick black gunk, and my tank was clearing rapidly. I replaced the pads again, leaving the foam pads alone.... and after the second addition of SeaChem Clarity, I am now gazing at a crystal clear tank. I heartily recommend this product.

Basically you put it in your tank and it makes it cloudier but this is supposed to be the product working. Well, my tank is much worse off than when I started. Now my whole tank is a cloudy haze that is the same color as the stuff in the bottle. I should have known better using a clarity product that wasn't clear to begin with.
Pros: none
Cons: doesn't work.

I purchased this product for my fish tank, because the water was
clouded a little.I fallowed the instructions on the back.As the label
was saying water turned green, but it never cleared up.So after 4
days and 3 filter cartridges i almost gos to the same water condition that it was before i added this product. So if this is your
firs time using it i would really thin about it!

I put this product in my tank last night, fell asleep, and by morning I had a clear tank! I highly recommend this product for anyone that has a cloudy tank.
