My Domestic shorthair loves this toy. We have a toy box by our bed with this and about 20-30 other cat toys and this is one of her favorites! Whenever we wake up this toy is out of the toy box! One issue that we had was that it was a bit hard to get the catnip tube into the actual toy. We do not know if this was just our specific toy,or if all of them are made this way. Overall
a great toy!

The carrot will be given as Christmas presents with extras purchased as spares. One of our 8 mo. old kittens is completely enamored of this toy. He carries it all over the house; he fetches it like a dog; he stretches out with the carrot within easy reach or under his head. Even our little indoor/outdoor cat, who isn't easily impressed with toys, has chosen this as her favorite. She keeps it handy on her cardboard scratching wave and tries to shake the feathers off. All other cats must sneak a quick play in; even the 13 yr. old queen of the house gives it a good kicking once in a while! The feathers go first so I replace when they are almost gone.

I don't know what Kong does to their toys, but my cats love everything they make. My mother picked up the "field mouse" refillable toy on vacation a few years back. They destroyed that thing. It's unrecognizable now but they still play with it. I went to petsmart to look at toys and saw it there! I was going to buy that one but saw the carrot and it was even cuter than the mouse (and a dollar cheaper!) so I bought that instead. All the kitties love it! Izzi doesn't usually like toys but she was going crazy over it, and then Lulu, my 13 year old, got ahold of it and started going crazy. She was kicking it with her back feet and acting like she was a kitten again (with Izzi watching her with a look on her face like "but...but...that's my carrot!"). I think I'm going to have to buy two more so that can each have their own. I have to put it away because they fight over it!

The feathers are fine until they get ripped off by the kitty- if your cat doesn't rip stuff then it shouldn't be a problem. My cats pull on them while playing which will eventually make them fall off. The carrot itself is very durable!

While both of my cats love the carrot, one of them keeps it around like a teddy bear. He carries it everywhere he goes and sometimes sleeps with it, using it as a little pillow.

I stuff the bejesus out of it with catnip every month or so. I don't usually have a problem with loose nip, but it will slowly disintegrate over the month.

The feathers are the first to go; usually in about a week, but it really doesn't matter. I don't even think it is a vital part of the toy. It would be fine without them.

After about 6 months the fur will rub off from all of the vicious licking that immediately proceeds a nip refreshment. We always have a backup on hand to replace and will continue to do so.

Everyone in the family loves this little guy. I recommend it to all cat owners!

This is the only toy that my Maine Coon mix will play with. He's a lazy boy who would love to sleep all 24 hours of the day, but if you toss "Carrot" his way, he LOVES it! We've had it for 3 years now and it's still in great shape. Anytime someone asks which toy to get their cat, this is always our first recommendation!

Catnip in a pouch is definitely better than loose catnip because it has a velcro closure that my kitty manages to open with his teeth. The feathers on top are probably his favorite feature of this toy.

I bought this for my cat when he was a kitten and he LOVED it. He would carry it in his mouth all around the house and kick it, chase it, throw it and sleep with it. Well, with all of that play it took a beating and for 2 years I could NOT remember where I bought it from. Well, yesterday I was at Petsmart and there was the CARROT! I brought it home to Monty and again, he's in love. I'm going to buy a few of them so when they wear down, I have a quick replacement. This provides so much entertainment for my cat. I highly recommend this toy.

I was trying to find a refillable catnip toy (because the ones you can't refill are essentially worthless right from the store) and found this. It is my cat's favorite toy - as long as I keep fresh catnip in it - we take it with us when we go to my mom's house, and my sister's cat loves it too! Best toy yet! When I first adopted her she wouldn't play with anything - but she looooves this carrot!

This toy is my cats favorite. Sometimes the three of them will even fight over it. The love to throw it up in the air and go get it. It is so much fun to watch them do this.

My kitten is OBSESSED with this toy. It's like her security blanket - if it's around, she can't stop playing with it, and if she can't find it, she follows us around crying until we locate it for her. After a couple of months of solid play, some of the feathers have fallen out and it's getting a little threadbare, which means I should probably buy a couple of backups before she loses it for good!

I highly recommend this toy - I would wager it's the most loved object in our household. :)

I have a 14 year old cat. He never learned his name, never really played with toys, and has medical condition that prevents him from getting any treats. We tried so many different toys hoping we could find something that he would enjoy. But after many attempts nothing appealed to him.

We discovered after all the years of having him that the only things he really enjoyed was running water, the rumble of a truck engine and feathers.

Knowing how much he enjoyed feathers, I decided to try this feather. I liked that it had catnip, feathers and was refillable. This toy worked like a charm. For the first time in years he played with a toy and really enjoyed it. The first time he had it he played with it for nearly an hour, tossing it around, rolling on it, etc. before finally tiring himself out. This, coming from a cat that generally sleeps 23 hours a day.

I could not be happier with this product. The feather make it even more fun and the fact that it is refillable means it will last for years to come.

This is a really great product!
