Our cocker died about 2weeks after buying a new 17 pound bag of dog food. Our yorkie has taken the next six months to eat the rest of that bag. If not for this container most of the bag would have gone bad. I was looking for a container that would fit in my kitchen cabinet and this works so great. Just put a whole 17 pound bag in it last night and it fit great!! Well worth the extra few bucks over the other containers. Going to get another one this weekend for a cat I found over the holidays.

I have had one of the medium containers for about 8 years, it doesn't leak-nothing gets in; food stays fresh. the scoop is the perfect size for each feeding. I would recommend gamma plastics vittles vault food storage container to anyone-and I have recommended it to friends that have stopped by. I am considering getting a small container for the cats-I am house-sitting for a friend till she gets a place of her own(we have had the cats-3-for almost a year). We have to hide their food bag in a drawer or they will eat thru the bag to get to the food, they did this to a new dog food were trying out for our dog; who is 8 years old. You wont regret buying this product!

I was debating whether to purchase this product or something else to keep my dogs' food in. I am happy to have decided on this product! It is well made and the dimensions fit perfectly in the cupboard i have. It's nice that my dog's food will be kept fresh longer too and that it's made of food grade plastic!

This thing is great! Awesome seal. Nothing gets in it! Very sturdy and strong. Doesn't tip over. Easy to open/close. Easy to fill and scoop from. =] I have the biggest one, it keeps the food fresh.

I got this last year for my dog food, so I have had a year experience with it. I have had absolutely no problems with this container, and it does its job with an A+ rating! I have had absolutely no bug problems, and I was really worried about getting bugs if leaving food in the house. This has a protective seal, and so it keeps my dogs food fresh until the last drop... I WILL be purchasing another one for my new kitty food as well!! Very impressed!!

We had a terrible problem with ants, and I had tried everything. Poisons would stop them for a while, then they'd always be back for more dog food. I tried several different dog food storage methods, and still more bugs. I used silicon caulking around the lips of the storage units I was using, and it still didn't work. We were getting ants, moths, you name in our dog's food. Finally I bit the bullet and bought a Vittle Vault. My dog's food has been super fresh every day. We haven't seen the first bug, and the size we got fits 15lbs of Blue Buffalo like a glove. It's an amazing product and I couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the absolute best way of storing your pet's food.

We live on a farm and I bought this product for my parents to put birdseed in when mice ate through their last three storage units. It has performed beautifully. Nothing (mice) can get in and eat the birdseed, my parents can open it easily, and it has done a remarkable job of keeping out the pantry moths (another thorn in our side). We have been so impressed by its performance that we are now going to by more to store bulk "people" foods. This is a remarkable product and you will not be disappointed.

I bought the 2nd from the smallest one and i put my hamsters food bag and all his treats in there an it's great! Nothing gets in an it can fit basicly anywhere. If you have a dog or cat i really don't think they will be able to get it open.
Pros: fits good in any space, keeps bugs out

I bought the 10-15lb one and also the 35lb one. The smaller one is perfect for my 3 small dachshunds because it holds up to 2 of their 6lb bags of Purina pro plan dry kibble. My only complaint it that I was trying to save money for my puppy who is a large breed and we feed more than the 3 combined so I got the 34lb bag of Purina pro plan puppy dry food. It didn't fit the last 5 lbs. So I recommend someone upgrading to the next big size in order to accommodate their food. Other than that I have no complaints! I can't smell the food outside the container and neither can my dogs nor BUGS! It's great. Plus I love the design. It's not to shabby to have around in the pantry where my guests go in sometimes.
Also got it on sale at Petsmart at a nice price. I checked out other stores who sold it and it was at least $15 more regular price. So I got it cheaper at Petsmart and on sale!
Pros: great at keeping smells inside, love the locking lid so dogs dont get into, not bad price.
Cons: wish it was a little bit bigger

I have to large male dogs. Each in their own way are true boys when getting into touble. Wilson my lab just loves to eat and like most labs he is always looking for food. Jake my german shepard is good at hiding his badness. I have gone though many food containers because the boys have either chewed the container open, ripped the tops off or knotted it on the side so they can eat until their tummies are so full they are about to bust. I purchased these items after reading some of the reviews and hoping that these containers would be the answer to ending the midnight snacking and have they ever. The boys have not once tried to get into the containers. I believe besides keeping the food fresh, bugs out it also keeps the food smell inside the container. I am so pleased that I no longer need to purchase more food then needed in one month. I will be purchasing a few more to hold their treats. Thank you PetSmart for carrying this product.
Pros: keeps the food fresh, keeps the food odor inside the container, easy to wash out, stores on pantry shelf nice, easy to carry around
Cons: wish the food cup handle was stronger

I have a little dog, but I prefer to buy the biggest bag of his food I can (15lbs) to save money, so I needed something to keep his food fresh, unspoiled, and pest-free for the long run.
I got the 10-15lb. container and it works perfectly. The cap screws on really tight though it isn't too hard (for an adult human with good hands) to open. And I find the 15lb. size is fairly compact and easy to carry or store. My dog is not capable of getting into this container, though I can't say that's an impressive statement. He doesn't try and he's little and gentle. If you have a big, rambunctious, food crazy, chewer-type dog, it might give this container a run for its money, but I think it will last forever as long as you put it up where the dog won't easily get at it. Once the cap is screwed tight, there isn't any odor that can come from it to entice your dog to get at its food. And it's ant-proof. You could leave this container outside in the rain with starving raccoons and a pile of ants and I bet it and its contents would be fine, though I keep mine inside near where I feed my dog.
The container also comes with a scoop (about one-cup size I think), but I tend to use a different one that's more appropriate a serving size for my dog.
Pros: durable, airtight, various sizes, comes with a scoop

These bins work great for our dogs' and cats' food. They seal very tightly and hold alot. They also fit conveniently under the countertop. This is a must have for all dog owners!

Our dog is on one of the most expensive dog foods in the world because of his tender tummy. We were asking the vet how to store it to make sure that it didn't go bad and get our dog sick or waste our money. He recommended this. OMG. It's awesome. We have the largest one so we can buy the biggest bag of food and it doesn't go bad. We do keep it in the house though so that it is climate controlled. The dogs can't open it. I'm not sure they can even smell the food through the seal. It was an investment, but it's cheaper than a bag of his dog food. And it's definitely worth the price. We have put another one on our other dog's wishlist. If I had known that we were going to adopt another dog I would have gotten the stackable kind though.

We were really tired of the seal on cat food bags fraying apart and in effect making the food go stale by the time we got to the bottom of the bag. We began looking for a durable storage container that would keep the food fresh, and not be an eyesore. After reading A LOT of positive reviews about the Gamma Vittles Vault, we figured we would try it out. We're REALLY pleased that we did!
You can't smell the food until you actually open the container, (neither can the cat!), and most importantly it keeps the food fresh! My only criticism is we bought the 1.3 gallon container, because it stated that it would hold 4 to 6lbs of food. We buy 5lb bags, and it couldn't accommodate the whole bag. We probably should have gone with the 4.7 gallon (10-15 lb) container instead. Not a huge issue, however, I would recommend that someone buy the next size up to avoid that problem.
It seems to be a GREAT product so far, highly recommended!

I buy a large bag of food for my small Poms to save money. This container keeps their food fresh for months saving me money by not throwing out stale food. The only thing a changed was the scoop that came with it. It's quite small and would require many trips to and from the container to the bowls.

This really is air tight. We have had it for 6 months. We even have taken it camping with us and left it outside on the dirt. Not one bug ever got in. It keeps such a good seal that even when you walk by it, you don't smell the dog food. I think it is a great.

This is a fabulous container for keeping dry food fresh and pest-free. The screw-on lid works much better than the snap-ons, and "grabbit" part is large enough for my arthritic hands to operate easily. The rubber gasket really seals in the freshness. Great product!

I don't know what I'd be doing without this container. It is SO worth every penny. I've had mine for years and not one ant or insect has ever gotten in or even on it. Feeding from the bag just doesn't make any sense. This is a definite must for any servant who feeds their pets!

This vault stores all the food and more that my little shiba inu can eat. It keeps the food fresh (and I know this because my dog always runs up to it when I spin the cap open to smell what is in there) and the little critters out.
I used to have a smaller one of these and it worked like a charm before to keep the critters out and it still works at my relative's house. It was sitting outside all day and night and the seals were still good after a couple of years. This is a must for storing pet food and keeping it fresh.
