Pros: more durable than you think, holds less odor, easy to clean, not a fan of putting dogs things in the dishwasher, but for those who are it is dishwasher safe
"I find that the ceramic bowls are better that the tin/metal ones, holds less odor and aren't as easy for you pets to pick up after they eat and bang the bowl around, like so many dogs do with metal bowls, if your worried about price, as they are usually a bit more than metal bowls wait until they go on sale, just keep it on the list, i have a x-large "Castlemere" bowl that i caught on sale that cost me no more that 7 Bucks !!!! A bargain..."

"Coming from a big litter, the pups were fed from a large shallow pan. My beautiful little puppy loves this bowl. It took a few tries to find the right one and this one is it.
It is durable, does not slide, and is easily cleaned. We love it!"
