I bought this crate about 2 months ago, but haven't used it until today. Our lab/border collier/shelter dog destroyed our other crate yesterday, so I had to use this one. I left her for about an hour and came home to a loose dog. She somehow moved the whole front panel over about 6 inches and got out. The old crate had rods that held the sides together, not little metal tabs like this one. Since I've gotten home, I used plastic zip ties on every single last tab to keep the crate together. I'm hoping this will do the trick until I can find a durable plastic carrier.

I use the 36" crate for my 1 yr old 9 lb Pekitese. She has to stay in it all day while I am at work so it is also her play area (that is why I purchased a larger one). Throw a couple small blankets and toys in there and she is happy. Super easy to assemble and to fold up for traveling. Tray is durable and cleans up nicely. Be sure to flip up/secure the latch under the door to keep the tray from sliding out! I missed that step in the assembling instructions and it caused a few accidents. Crate stays in place on the carpet. No problems with chewing or bending of metal, probably because she is so small. I believe this will be the one and only crate I will ever need to have for my dog!

This crate is great! i have two boxers so i bought two crates. My dogs were a little apprehensive at first but it only took a couple of days before they didn't care anymore.
Great for the price!

I got this crate for my bulldog puppy and we have had no problems at all with it. I also was lucky enough to get it when Petsmart had a sale and it was 50% off. So that made the price even better.

This product is amazing. Although my puppy dosent love it, i didnt expect him to like any of the crates. But i highly recommend this because its a pretty good price and there are many sizes for many breeds and sizes.

I bought the XL crate for my Saint Bernard. This crate is amazing and perfect. I love it, he loves it. We're happy and he can have a solid nights sleep. (He sleepwalks - and sometimes falls)

It is extremely easy to put together - basically just folds out. No tools or bending necessary. I added zip ties to the edges just for extra security.

I was looking at the Top Paw Dbl Door crate and I almost bought it until I saw this one for forty bucks cheaper. The only difference between the two was the extra door. Also, with the Top Paw they had to bend the frame to get it in their small packaging box so you have to bed it back when you put it together. (How many times can you bend it before it gets weak or breaks?)

This is a GREAT crate. I reccommend it to anyone.

You will need bed since the bottom is plastic.

Horrible

I would rate this a 5, but after having my puppy for only 3 months...the crate is now in horrible condition! Within the first week, my dog was able to rip one of the bars off, so now that sticks up. Also, my dog is only about 33lbs(Border Collie Mix) and the crate is bent in from her, and its hard to close now because she has destroyed it. So if you have small dog, then its fine. But if you have a medium size dog & up, then I would not buy this, unless they are good in the crate. My dog is able to get the tray out now because it is so bent. If your dog is strong, buy something better. its great for travel since it collapses.

I bought this for my pit-lab mix and he destroyed it. we've had to duct tape the walls together and use padlocks because the latches came off. He is constantly getting out and I am very disappointed in the quality of this product

Decent crate, one big issue

This is a decent crate, but it does have one issue. I had previously ordered a crate online that did not work out, so I went to the store hoping to see several different brands of crates put together. However, only one was put together and you couldn't tell which one it was, so I took a chance on the Great Value crate. We purchased the 24x18x21 crate.

The Pros:
Easy to put together
Good sturdy wires
Good entrance height (the reason we returned the other crates was that the entrance height was way too tall for a puppy)

The Cons:
There is an issue with this crate and I think it could be easily fixed by the manufacturer. The welds of the wires on the side of the front door of the crate are on the inside. The edges are very sharp. I think this could be easily fixed by welding the wires on the outside of the crate so that there are no sharp edges inside the crate with the dog. I think I am going to try to file the edges down to make them less sharp, however, you would think this is something the manufacturer would think about so we wouldn't have to "fix" it after we purchase it.

The other con I have for this product is that most of the other crates in this price range come with a divider.

I had another larger crate that I purchased from Petsmart 10 years ago that was perfect, no sharp edges and well made. I didn't think it would be so hard to find one 10 years later. However, as each year goes by, it seems products are made more cheaply and the quality and attention to detail is not there.

I have ordered two crates thus far and neither have been great. I've sent one back and have ordered a third crate from PetSmart to see if it has the same wire issues, but this may be my best option after I file the wires down.

This could get five stars if they would weld the wires on the outside and add a divider panel.

Not true to its size and misleading

I was looking for a crate for my 3mo old female Siberian Husky. I read on line that she would be up to 23in tall,up to 50lbs and was a medium size breed. I went into PetSmart and saw on the box of this crate it said it was 25in in height and for medium breed dogs with the dogs weight being 41-70lb and it shows a picture of a dog being 23inch in height with a red arrow pointing over its head. Brought it home and found out my dogs max height should be measured by its withers and that is the tallest point on its back behind its neck. I then decided to measure the cage to see how much taller of a crate i would need. The ORIGINAL measurements on the box is 36L x 23W x 25H. With the crate standing I got 35 1/2L x 22W x 23 1/2H . NOT only is the most important part off by 2 1/2 inches (height) it is also MISLEADING because a dog is measured by its withers and not the top of its head.

It is a great crate. Easy to clean, however if your dog is going to get big as mine did make sure you get a bigger size in this crate because the dogs grow extremely fast! I would recommend a two door crate.

Bought 2 of these crates in the last 5 months. One for my border collie mix that was not a fan of the starter crate we borrowed for her. But for whatever reason, she has taken to this crate quite well and seems to love it. The other crate is for my rottie, who also loves it. The crate is very, very easy to set up, one of the easiest I've owned. It also folds down for easy storage too. Like I said, I've only had it for 5 months, so I cannot comment on the long-term durability of it. But it has held up quite nicely over the 5 months with daily use from my two dogs. I have been happy with it and would recommend it to anyone

Not A Good Choice

I have two German Shepherds. 1 is 60 lbs the other is 70. I purchased two crates and now they are junk after three weeks. They have bent the locks,bars. You also need a pair of vice grips to bend the locking tabs. Both crates are being held together by locking wire ties. DO NOT BUY THIS CRATE! if you have big dogs. Junk! Junk!

I bought this kennel in April. When I brought it home I assembled it, and was happy with the overall appearance. The day after I bought it, I was putting my dog into it and the metal latch broke. So we took it back for a replacement. The replacement kennel was bent, and all the parts did not match up. It would be bowing in one area, and not the other. My dog is like my kid. I will never buy this kennel ever again, as the quality for the price I paid was just horrible. So I sent my husband back a second time today to replace it with a different brand, because my dog and me deserve to be happy with things that actually work. No kennel should have broken, or become bent as easily as this kennel seemed to.

I have two pit bulls who were crate trained with this cage. They each love it. All we have to say to them is go to your bed, and in they go. If you have not crate trained your dog as it sounds some have not, then yes this crate might not be for you. But it is great for an Established Trained dog. Pits can eat anything placed in front of them, but they have never tried to get out of this cage. I have had mine for a year now! A trained dog is the key!

Good, basic crate!

This crate is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to assemble, sturdy, and basic. I didn't need 10 different entrances or 5 different ways to section it off or whatever, I just needed a good, solid, easy to break-down or put back-together, crate. I do think that the price is ridiculously high for what it is, but looking at how much you COULD pay for a crate, this is definitely all you need to pay for a crate if you're looking for just a basic sturdy crate that gets the job done. I keep my 4 month old black lab/pit bull/german shepherd mix in it while I'm at work and have never had any issues with it falling apart or him ruining it or anything like that. Also, it is not too heavy...solid enough to stay put wherever you keep it, but not so heavy that you can't move it yourself from room to room.

I got this crate less than a month ago and now it's nothing more than a pile of scrap metal. I paid $96.00 for something that did not last a month. Do not buy this crate.
