"This is a quality carrier. It is big and roomy on the inside so my dog never feels cramped. It has a big side opening and a big top opening so it's never a tangle getting my dog in and out. It has lots of pockets on the outside so I can carry everything we need. I can carry it over my shoulder very comfortably or with the hand straps. It is airline approved and fits very nicely under the seat of all the planes we've been on. It comes with a soft furry mat and an id tag. I've had my Sherpa for 8 years and it still looks like new."

"I actully got my bag on sale and I can't begin to tell you what a deal it was! This bag fit perfectly under the seat, it allowed my dog some fresh air from the mesh side panels. I love the top and side access panes. My only wish is that it had wheels but that's just my personal desire. The bag is sturdy and well made."

"I bought these as my chihuahuas main carriers because I've always hated the traditional, hard carriers. Needless to say my dogs love these carriers! The top loading feature is great because my dogs have always been difficult to get into carriers. The carriers are comfortable and they don't seem to ever get hot on the inside. They're also amazingly sturdy. My male chihuahua has scratched on the netting and there is no sign of it! Overall I'm glad I paid the higher price. It's well worth it!"

"I bought the large size carrier for my 21 lb pug. I was a little concerned because it is taller than the dimensions posted on the Airtran website, but it fit under the seat perfectly, didn't even need to squish it down. The "top loading" really helped as well, getting the dog in from the side would have been more difficult (although the bag does have a side entry as well). No issues or concerns from any of the airport employees either."

"We bought ours about 3 or 4 years ago and our 10 lb. poodle likes to show that he doesn't exactly want to be pinned up in it by chewing at it. There are tiny holes near the zipper now, but no escapes. Still he gets excited when we get it out of the closet because he knows it means HE'S GOING TOO! We've even taken him in restaurants straight from the airport in it because we didn't want to go to our lodging home first. Unless he whines or barks no one knows he's there. We put him under the table at our feet and I put my feet up against it and give him some water and he's a happy camper. This thing looks so much like a small piece of luggage that no one knows. Our carrier is still going strong. We see ones like it many times when others are traveling with pets. I suppose with all products you can get a lemon, but give Sherpa a chance and have it exchanged you won't regret it. This is a VERY sturdy carrier, bar none!"

"I purchased this bag for my nine pound Shih Tzu. The first time I put her in it she either ate a hole in the bag or the bag just fell apart. They were very nice at PetSmart and gave me a new one. I am glad we were not in a place where she could have escaped."

"my yorkie and i dearly love this carrier. it's very durable and has plenty of room for my yorkie to rest and stretch out. it's a great place for your pet to just sit and relax =] my yorkie quite enjoys being in that carrier, she just stays there as long as she wishes! once again its a great carrier that is roomy and durable. a great choice if your looking for a carrier for your beloved pooch =]"

"When we ordered this Sherpa Carrier, we had intended to just use it for travelling on airplanes because it fit the restrictions perfectly and gave us handy access and storage too. But when we received it, we realized that it would make an ideal everyday carrier too with its openings in both the front and top, and its sturdiness and light weight. We are very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it. I do wish though, that it came with extra pads for the bottom, absorbent ones that could be removed and replaced, washed and used repeatedly."

"I had this carrier for two days. While training my dog to go in, the top zipper tab broke apart. It is very poorly made overall. I am returning it and will hunt for something better. Don't waste your time with this brand."

Perfect Even For Small Planes!,

"I took my 19 lb. Puggle on a 2 hour flight from Dallas to South Carolina. We flew on an American Eagle jet that had only 50 seats. I was scared that the carrier wouldn't fit under the smaller seat but it did! There was even room to spare! I used the medium bag and probably wouldn't have been as pleased with the large bag just because it would have been bulkier. I STRONGLY ADVISE advance Sherpa training. I bought the bag 3 months before our flight. When I first got the bag, I let my dog sniff it and see that it was a safe thing. Then I began putting him in it a few minutes a day. After 3 weeks, I began taking my dog to day care and it really paid off. Treats are a great way to quickly teach dogs that the carrier is safe. I strongly recommend this to anyone needing a quality carrier for a small space."

"My dog loves this carrier, I love this carrier, and the airlines love it, too! Our favorite part is the zip top, because my Pomeranian loves to peek her head out the top to see her adoring fans! The pockets hold absolutely everything: leash, paperwork, treats, you name it! I've run into other animals travelling, and most of them were using this carrier, too. It's the best!"

"This is the best carrier I have seen, it looks nice as a travel bag because of the leather details. I got the large black carrier. Also, the sherpa lining on the bottom is very comfortable for the animal. I paid a little more to get a nicer carrier, because I feel my dog should be as comfortable as possible since they are confined to such a small space."

"The quality is very nice. A perfect size complete with shoulder strap or just to carry as a handbag. I purchased the mid-sized bag for my cat traveling to Europe. The added feature that the top can zip open for them to poke out a head is super. Nice wool mat makes the cold airplane floor climate much more comfortable. The study outer portion less susceptable to caving in. Three sides are dark mesh and the back is closed for them to hide."

"I had the old style--constantly caved in. The new design can't cave in, but it still folds flat for storage. I especially like the pocket in the back, where I keep copies of all the vaccination records and some treats or whatever. It's extremely well-constructed, durable, and the mesh is pet-proof (had the cave-in kind for 12 years and it looked new when I took it to the thrift shop after receiving the new ones) and it folds so that storage isn't a problem. With three pets who need carriers, that's a big help! It's expensive (the price on this site is the best anywhere), but for me, it's worth it."
