The boys love this hay and yes i know i did my research my boys are a month old today. I also mixed Alfalfa hay in with Timothy and they love it and eat it up! They popcorn and wheet every time they hear me shaking the hay to put it in the hay bin. The problem is , i always see timothy hay in pet-smart i would like to see a bigger stock of alfalfa hay on the shelves. This is really good!

I have a 7 week old bunny and i bought this for her, knowing young animals need alfalfa hay. The minute i put this in her hay manger, she went crazy! the next time i went to check on her, the bowl was practically empty. Now whenever i go to refill her manger, she runs over to me and starts eating instantly. Once your small pet reaches over the age of 6 months though, you should switch to timothy.

When I adopted my female Guinea Pig, who is around three years in age the shelter thinks, swashed this hay in her diet. They lady that helped me purchase the supplies for her had me buy a bale of this. My Guinea Pig really liked it, but then I read that older Pigs really shouldn't have it because it is high in fat. I then transferred to Timothy hay, but she refused to eat that hay. She now is on a diet of Oxbow Orchard Grass Hay, and LOVES it. I only recommend this for baby Rabbits, or baby Guinea Pigs. The price isn't that bad either.
Pros: smell, taste
Cons: dusty

This is a good product, but it should only be fed to pregnant Guinea Pigs, recent mothers and babies. It has a lot of calcium and they are prone to get bladder stones.

I went to my local petsmart to purchase some Alfalfa hay because it was high in protein and good for my gerbils. I made the mistake of purchasing the cubes, instead of the actual stalks. They aren't really a fan of eating it, and they only eat it when they only have pellets in their food bowl. I'm sure it would be better if I didn't get the cubes.

My bunny goes crazy over alfalfa! I highly recommend this!
My guinea pig, Cinnamon, ate this when he was young and before I had him. He loved it so much that he ran right into the bag once and got covered with hay! But Alfalfa hay is very fattening, so even when the price, appeal, quality and quantity are right, I use timothy hay now. But if you have a skinny, pregnant or young guinea pig, use this hay!
Pros: appealing, quality, smell, price, quantity
Cons: fattening!

I could not find it anywhere on the package but this stuff should only be fed to young babies, or rescued animals who are very thin and need to get caught up. This is very fatty and can cause some digestive problems is fed to an older animals.
Pros: good for babies
Cons: bad for adults

My young lop loves the mini-bale hay. The only problem is it's very difficult to pull SOME of the hay out to put it in a hay holder. It's packed in the bag VERY tightly, and there are a lot of tiny loose pieces that fall out of any hay holders. I suppose this would work great for anyone who has a few pets in one cage and was planning on feeding the entire bale at once.

This is only for animals under 6 months of age. It is high in calories and fat, which babies need, but isn't the best for adults. Otherwise, great product.
I bought this hay for my guinea pigs when they were new and younger, and they loved this hay. But when my guinea pigs grew a bit older, I decided to switch to the Kay-Tee Timothy Hay because alfalfa hay isn't very healthy for older guinea pigs--I only recommend buying this product if your pet is under the age of 6 months. If not, I would recommend timothy hay.

I wish these alphalfa bales were avaliable in larger sizes, like the Timothy Hay, I tend to go through quite of few of these minibales of alphalfa, which my quickly growing Holland Lops seem to love. They gobble that stuff up like its candy.
I have the mother, Juliette, and her two surviving kits, Poptart and Cornpop. Their papa Popcorn is no longer with us.
I couldn't be happier than to take over as their daddy, and I spoil them quite a bit.
My brother visited and saw their play pen, with their purple igloo and their colored wood chews strewn about, and shook his head. He thought he was bad with his dogs and their stuff.

My chinchillas refused to eat this brand of loose hay. I tried a few times, with no luck. They ate more of the hay cubes, but they weren't a hit.
