This food looks like a well rounded base diet for the parakeets with colorful seed sized "other stuff" and some dried fruit. But as soon as my two parakeets pick all the seed from the mix, even with the cup half full, they stop eating it. I find myself throwing the majority of it away and that equals money I'm throwing away.

When I initially purchased this, it was with the intent of introducing some new flavors to my budgie's diet with the addition of supplementation. I compared a few different brands in the store and chose this one because I figured that it was more nutritional and less toxic than the alternatives, although upon closer examination of the ingredients, I think it's just the lesser of the evils available. One would assume with the name "Eco" that this product is organic, but I saw nothing that indicated "organic" on the label.

My budgie won't even eat the little puffs, or the dried fruits and veggies and he's been getting it in his food dish for at least 3 months now. He only eats the oats and millet and grass seeds. There's so much waste! I think when I run out, I'll be better off getting an unprocessed product and adding my own oat groats and other seeds to it instead.

Pros: smells tasty

Cons: bird only eats 1/3 of contents, food colouring used
