Pros: fun to play in, provides the feeling of shelter to guinea pigs, can be good for grinding down teeth, can last a long time Cons: some guinea pigs don't like the taste
"My guinea pigs love playing in this!!! I bought them a small 'room' to sleep in, but most of the time they choose to take naps in this log. Though, my guinea pigs don't really like to chew on it. I guess they don't like the taste of it. As a toy, though, it's really nice."

"My guinea pigs, Milli & Remi, fell in love w/ this thing. They played in it, ate it, & even slept in it sometimes. They couldn't get enough of it, until it was all gone; it probably took them around a month to finish it. You just have to make sure that you keep the cage sanitary so that the nastiness doesn't decide to make its way onto the log."

"This product is probably wonderful for any pet other than a guinea pig. It is pretty much made out of honey, alfalfa and wood shavings which isn't poisonous but unhealthy and too strong for their stomachs. Other than that, they love running through the tunnel and being safe inside it!!"

Great for hay storage,

Pros: multi purpose, chew toy, treat, manages hay, good for hiding, sturdy structure, worth the money Cons: none that i can think of!
"This is a multi purpose accessory for your cage! I, for one, use it as a chew toy (Hard, but still soft enough to chew), treat (It's made of alfalfa and honey!), and a place to store hay. As it has a solid structure, it lasts a long time and controls a lot of the dust from the hay your critter can kick up. Plus, it's cute to see the hay sticking out of the log. I'd EASILY recommend this to any chinchilla owner! You'll get your money's worth with this!"

"I have 2 gerbils (as you should buy two not one) and they LOVE this! It takes a long time for them to devour and while they do it grinds down their teeth so they can't get too long! If you stuff it with tissues your gerbils will go crazy ripping and burrowing through the bedding!"

"Being that it was my first time having pet rats I was a little worried when my new little boys weren't chewing on the flavored wooden toys and structures I provided. So naturally I panicked (just kidding) and after a week or so of them still not being interested I went out to Petsmart to find a better solution. After reading reviews on here I had to give the snak shak log a try.
The boys who hadn't chewed anything in at least a week were suddenly on a mission. By the next morning I could see significant damage done. Clearly this one was a hit. And they love hiding it it too!!
I will definitely continue to buy this product and ones like it. If the rats are happy, so am I!!"

"I was recently shopping at our local petsmart and saw this, I was out of chews for Honey so I bought it. Well... as soon as I put this in her cage, she went right to town on it! And I think it will last a while too, since it has only a few bite marks and she was chewing on it almost ALL night long! Now I was expecting her to ignore it like she does with all her other chews, but boy was I WRONG! She definetely seems to like whatever it's made of! Two little hamster thumbs up! I will definetely buy it again!"

"My chinchilla absolutely LOVES this log. He sleeps in it quite a bit, and he constantly gnaws on it. He always will chew anything and everything that he can get to, but this is one of the few things he's yet to destroy. This log is a great product."
