Ferrets cannot digest corn, it is the equivalent of rocks to their digestive tracks. Marshalls is terrible nutrition so, the ferrets eat tons more which in turn, costs more. They also relieve themselves more, look sub-par and smell more when they eat Marshalls. My 2 ferrets are Marshall ferrets, we fed them marshalls when we brought them home. I assure you that the change you will see after switching their food (to virtually any grain free food) will seem almost miraculous. It has actually been less expensive feeding them higher priced food because they are nutritionally satisfied and therefore, eat less. They are also happier, healthier and have glistening, soft WHITE fur (on marshalls no matter how well we washed them, that yellow tinge wouldn't go away.) Marshalls food is a terrible product and I simply cannot recommend it to anyone.

Good Diet

My ferret has always been fed this diet, but she does love it. Her coat looks great and she loves to take her food and hide it in secret hide outs for later! Price may seem high, but I think it is worth it. It is high quality after all!
One downside is that it does smell weird.

Pros: high quality, taste, price

well i have 2 marshall ferrets that were being fed marshall food and they stunk to high heaven they looked dull poor coats and dull eyes they had no energy and ate alot of this [if a ferret eats alot its cause its food is poor nutrients and its trying to get more nutrients] i switched them to mizziouri and they look 100% better

My four ferrets all love this food. Especially love that it's easy to mash up with water for baby and elderly ferrets. A little more expensive than others, but it's true: you get what you pay for. Definitely worth the extra money.

Amazing Product

We have 2 Ferrets, Nilla - 3 years old and Teddy - 7 months old. They have eaten Marshall's Food their entire lives and they both love it. Both are at a healthy weight; and it seems neither Ferret can get enough of it. Their coats are beautiful, both are full, shinny and soft. They have tons of energy and their eyes are bright and alert. And every Vet check-up is perfect.

We also have a friend who had 2 Ferrets, and they both had eaten Marshall's Food their entire lives, and both lived to be well over 9 years old.

As for the comments about their litter box smelling. It is a litter box, do any smell good? I dont believe the litter box, smelling like a litter box is the Marshall's Food. Additionally, everything that ends up in our litter box looks healthy, and I attribute that to the Marshall's Food being very good for them as well.

I would recommend the Marshall's Food to anyone who has a Ferret!!!

Worst Food Ever For Ferrets!!!

We fed this for about 2 months after getting our second fuzzy Saya. Our first girl Kikyo also ate it. My boyfriend is allergic to fish, and he smell makes him gag. Immediately after opening this our bedroom smelled like old fish. We used shredded newspaper for their bedding, and ususally there wasn't an issue with smell. This food however, as soon as they processed that first taste, and left it in the litter box, the entire bedroom smelled of ferret waste and changing the litterbox was torture!!! I gagged every single time while feeding this. Neither one of my fuzzy's coats were nice and fluffy, and I would never recommend this food to anyone. Once we switched them a third and final time to 8-1 food we found a food everyone loves, doesn't make them stink up the whole room, and gives them the energy they need to run around all day!

Pros: there are none

Cons: smelly waste dull coats kit gained no weight

this food is so bad smelling my whole house smelled of moochie poo! ( moochie came with this food when i adopted him and i didn't want to change his food to soon)I have a nother ferret she is on a diffrent food that has low to no smell (8 In 1 ).my newest ferret has a very dull coat. i am going to start him on a new better for him and are home food today. he just isn't getting the the best food that he should. i hpoe you find this helpful

I used this product for the majority of my ferret's 8-year life span. It was overall a good product, but I did find one a tad better, simply because Marshall's has a tad less protein, and has herring meal in which that process includes exracting oil and moisture in which a ferret needs, dried yeast which probably has something to do with the smelly waste, and cane molasses which should probably not be in a ferret's diet at all due to their susceptability to insulinomas in the pancreas which is a common disease in ferrets. I personally never really had a problem with this product, though.

Well, this is the only feed I've given my ferret -after reading some of the reviews, I may switch, though. (I had resigned myself to ferret poo stinking up the whole house, no matter how quickly the box is cleaned)

I adopted my ferret friend, Munkee, and my friend used to feed him this stuff. His waste smelled soooooo bad! He literally stunk up our room. I had to clean the cage every time he went otherwise the smell would be overwhelming. Also, his coat would be dull and rough, not smooth like its supposed to be. So I changed to 8 in 1 ferret food..its a yellow and blue bag. Read my review on that product. But a BIG thumbs down to this product.

This is the best of the best when it comes to ferret food. My fuzzy won't eat anything else. She loves it, and it's also very nutritious. She's a beautiful, healthy ferret, and I attribute a lot of that to Marshall's ferret food. After all; you are what you eat!

I wasn't too happy with this food. I much prefer Zupreem. When I was feeding my boys the Marshalls, their waste smelled way stronger because of all the fish and by-products in it, and their fur was more course.
Ferrets were meant to be meat eating animals, not fish, and Marshall's is packed with fish. Also, while feeding Zupreem, my ferrets don't need to eat the huge amount that they had to before to get the same amount of nutrition.

This food is recommended by veteranarians as the #1 food to give to your ferrets and I can see why. My ferrets love this food and it is all the nutrition they need to stay healthy and happy. I have tried different foods in the past but didn't like that they wouldn't eat very much, when I fill their bowl with this they chow down! It is worth the extra money you pay because you really do get what you pay for in this food!

This is the absolute best. Period. It's the healthiest stuff you can buy for your ferrets, and all of the pieces look the same, so half of it isn't wasted while your ferret digs through looking for his or her favorite pieces. Take it from someone who has 6 ferrets and from someone who's worked at petsmart for a very, very long time.

While this food does provide adequate nutrition for ferrets, because it contains a higher amount of fish and fish oils then other ferret foods, it can cause the urine and feces to be extremely smelly. People who worry about odor problems with ferrets might want to use a different ferret food.
