"I bought this wheel for my hamster. I found that it is a bit larger than other wheels so it is more comfortable for hamsters to run on and she was not having to arch her body to run properly. It is very quiet and after 2 years of having this product, with regular use it is still good as new. I would definatly recommend this product to anybody needing a wheel or something fun for their small animals to play on."

"I completely LOVE this product! see, my gerbil stays in my bedroom, and when I had a defferent wheel it was like living at a saw mill that never quit sawing! I fond this wheel "after many restless nights" and thought I'd give it a try... it's soooo silent! It's amazing how quiet they can make it! My gerbil likes it better then the ones that made so much noise too! And uses it more often also! You can even attach it to the bars of the cage if you want to " like I did" and WOW it's just soooo silent! And my gerbil loves it too! I so recommend this product to all small pet owners!"

"I just got my Gerbils, Einstein and Newton, and I got them this wheel cause of it being marketed as "Silent". It sure is silent, I never hear it when they play on it which is a lot. They always take turns playing on it or sometimes they both get on it and run. This is an excellent product for any small pet owner and I'm sure that, if they are anything like my Gerbils, they will love to play on it all day."

Pros: super quiet! Cons: needs cleaning occasionally due to poor drainage.
"I love this wheel! It is so quiet and my hamster loves it. I have had it for about 4 months now and it still works great. It has only squeaked once since I've gotten it, and all I did to stop it was take the spinning part off, rinsed it, and put it back together. The only thing I wish was better is the drainage. I usually clean the wheel once a week in order to minimize the build up of stuff."

Cons: cracks easily, becomes wobbly
"I bought the 4.5 inch wheel for my Robo hamster, and it was a great size her for when I bought her as a baby. But since she has grown, the axle in the middle of the wheel was almost hitting her back when she was running in it. It looked awkward and dangerous for her. The 6.5 inch wheel is the next step up, but it's too big for her. If there was a 5.5 inch wheel, that would be the perfect size.
Another problem I had is that the wheel had become VERY wobbly and therefore noisy. I tried tightening it up but it didn't work, plus the white plastic part of the wheel cracked when I removed the cap on the back of the wheel. Today I took the wheel out to clean it, and when I attempted to remove the stand, the colored half of the wheel broke off. It has three clips that secure it to the white half of the wheel, but one of the clips completely broke off, so now this wheel is done for after 2 months of use. Why it comes in two halves like that is puzzling and doesn't seem necessary, and just makes it more vulnerable to breaking.
I would still recommend this product as it is much safer than a metal wheel, and mostly quiet. Just be aware of how fragile it is when you are cleaning or trying to adjust it."

"I bought a Crittertrail X long time ago and they didn't have a running wheel in it so I bought this wheel too. Now I have 3 of those, and I LOVE IT!!!! I don't know how they do it, but it doesn't have any noise. I have other kind of wheels too, and believe me, this is the best. It's the only thing that you can totally sleep without any distraction. :D BUY IT, for your and your hamster's sake!"

"I have an aquarium that I keep my two gerbils in and this wheel is as close to silent as they get... if you cover the bottom wire with shavings it shouldn't rattle. It is AMAZING how much of an improvement this makes when comparing to the wheels that usually come in cages. I would highly recommend this if your pet is keeping you up all night on its wheel :]"

Not so great in glass tank cages,

"It spins so quietly in the store! I think if you have a wire cage then this probably works great.
We use a glass aquarium tank as a cage to keep the hamster from kicking out the bedding like it happens with wire cages.
Unfortunately the is no padding for the metal feet so although the wheel spins quietly the footing rattles against the glass! You have to pick it up and put it back up on top of the wood chips to stop the rattling. You also have to make sure it isn't touching anything else. Not always fun to fix at 3 AM!
When the hamster poops on the wheel it gets flattened like a pancake after being run on. Makes cleaning time a joy!
Twice I've had to re-tighten the locking nut to keep the when from vibrating and making too much noise.
Hopefully they'll come out with a better version that has a way to attach it to the side wall of a glass tank like the water bottle does or add pads to the metal feet to help with vibration against the glass."

"I have had this wheel in the cage for less than an hour. I have a Critter Trail cage and after hearing thump thump rattle rattle thump I decided to purchase the Silent Spinner. I cleaned the Hamster's cage and attached the wheel to the cage and put him back in his place. After about 5 min I was thinking "I wonder if he has tried his new wheel yet" then looked up to find him running in it. It was so quiet that I couldn't even tell. I can barely here his feet going. It only gets loud if they spill some food in the wheel which I did. It's so quiet and perfect it is totally worth the money. If you are fed up with loud wheels buy this one. You will not regret it."

Me and my mom were looking online for some kind of remedy for my wheel and we found this. A few days ago my mom and I went to our local Petsmart. "I thought that this wouldn't work. It does make a slight noise, but since my Robo hammy lives in a glass aquarium the sound doesn't travel outside. It rolls smoothly and she seems to love it, although she'd rather jump from it every now and then.

"I've used these wheels for all of my mice and when I got Donovan I brought it out again. For being a lazy little guy he's always walking in his wheel or rocking in it. He's not much of a runner. :) The only time I know he's in the wheel is if he has a peice of food with him and it rattles while he walks. Great wheel, I just wish Petsmart sold the larger one for my rat!"
