This wheel works great as long as you plan on oiling where the stand meets the wheel, or else the mice can't turn it. ONLY USE VEGETABLE/CANOLA OIL OR ELSE YOU WILL POISON YOUR MICE!!! I cannot emphasize this more. Besides that one flaw, the mini is perfect for mice. Mine are almost full grown and neither of them has to arch their backs :) Also, I have no trouble washing it every week. Just soak in warm water and everything comes right off.

I got this wheel for my mouse, before I realized how bad it was. It was lopsided, so my mouse would have to duck to the side to avoid being whacked in the head with the bars. It retained smell, and since male mice like to mark, it can get quite disgusting, even with daily scrubbing.

Not to mention metal wheels are bad for mice, and hamsters as well. They can get their tail caught and ripped out, and it can mess up their feet.

My advise to you? If you actually care about your pet, spring the extra little bit of money and get it a plastic wheel with a solid surface, that's big enough for whatever pet you have. (6.5" For mice and robo hamsters, 8" For dwarf hamsters, 12" For syrian 'teddy bear' hamsters)

i use these wheels for most of my critters. from mice to sugar gliders. i put a little petroleum jelly on the metal where the wheel rubs to stops any noise. i did find a cheaper wheel at a different store, and it was a peice of junk. its little ticks arent easy to fix like this one. ill never get a different wheel for my small animals again.

the wheel works great but sometimes, about once a week, it starts to squeak when my mice get on it. so then i have to oil it with vegetable oil. other than that, my mice love it!!

I had the plastic wheel that attaches to the inside of the wire cages, but my little Russian dwarf hamster, Vodka, couldn't make it go round easily since she is so tiny (and this was on a plastic wheel made for a little mouse). So I got this wheel. It's metal, and it has a mesh-like running base, which is easy for her to grasp on to and make the wheel go round with ease, like it should.

It does squeak over time. No big deal to me though. I sleep soundly knowing my hamster is getting the exercise she needs, and is safe doing so.

I like the fact that it's metal so my gerbils can't chew it. I don't think they really understand how to actually use it though. It's saves a lot of space since it can hang from the side of the cage.

When my new rat Chloe first got on it, the wheel came off the wire frame! But i was able to fix it easily. She loves to run and im still very happy that shes happy. Its also a little loud, but its nothing too noticeable.

I really love these wheels. They are the only ones I will use. The mesh is small enough that it's comfortable for my guys (gerbils) to run on, and I dont have to worry about their tails getting caught. My guys LOVE these! They can squeak, but it's an easy fix, just put some veggie oil on the axle. Some of my guys eat it off haha, so I have to oil them fairly frequently, but it's no biggie, I just make it part of my routine with them. If you are looking for a solid, dependable wheel, get these! You wont be disappointed!

This wheel was wobbly, noisy, and squeaky. Plus every time the hamster ran on it I worried he'd break his little neck as he likes to peek out while he's running and hit his head as the bars went around. You can't see the bars behind the packaging when you buy it. I had to take this out at midnight so my daughter could finally get some sleep. It lasted one night, but I couldn't return it because I had to tear the packaging apart so the hamster could run on it. Don't waste your money. Get a silent spinner if you have a small enough pet, or a Ware Stainless Steel Exercise Wheel if you have a larger one. (We have a long haired syrian hamster and the Ware wheel works great!)

My hamsters love this wheel! Me? Well, the wheel squeaks, but I put some veggie oil on it and it is silent. And after a while, the wheel bent and now my hamsters run at an odd angle.

Durable, safe, effective

This wheel is fantastic it is very durable, can be sanitized and cleaned in the harshest of cleaners and it stands up well. It is chew proof and the grates are close enough together to prevent slips and catching of legs, paws, and tails. Many wheels with wide rungs can cause broken limbs and tails and this wheel has a crosslinked closely packed rungs preventing such injuries.

The wheel does squeak a bit but with a bit of vaseline or olive oil applied this is overcome. Highly recommend this wheel for all rodents especially avid chewers like my gerbils

I bought this for my pet hamster and she would try to run on it but it would not spin I had to throw it away and buy a new wheel from a different store. I was so mad!!!!!!

It squeaks but for those of you out there that can't get another wheel take a q-tip and place it in a tiny bit of olive oil, then take it out and lightly dab where the wheel squeaks!!! Good as new!!! You may have to to this maybe every month or every other month, just do it when it gets squeaky

i love this it does squeak but just put oil on it every 2 weeks and you wont here squeaks my hamster runs on it every light its much cleaner than solid wheels.

I have had 3 gerbils and one hamster over the years. One gerbil i had her name was giget and she love this although her tail got caught in it once. This is easy to bend too but it lasts.

I got this wheel free when someone gave me a cage for my first hammy Kai. It was a little lopsided from being used beforeand squeaked a little. But my dad put vasaline on the spokes and it's very silent. It does need to be washed and more out on every couple of months, though. I hang mine on the side of Kai's plastic Sterilite "cage" with colored duck brand duct tape.

I tried this wheel and will never go back for my hamster! goes super fast, which he loves, and is noiseless as long as it doesn't his the bottom of the tank and the hinges are greased with vaseline.... its easy to clean which is really helpful :)
my hamster which is a dwarf btw, has never gotten his paws stuck in the wiring and is always able to stop himself if he wants to
