I think this product, the Roll A Nest, is an excellent choice, a great buy. Not only is it a good place for little critters to sleep or hide in, but the materials it's made with are great for the critter to use to build a nest of their own. Just like in the wild. Animals make nests or burrows out of things they find (laying around) in the forests or mixed in with vegetation. Although I haven't bought these recently, I have in the past. I just bought two Djungarian Hamsters and was looking around on this site for cage accessories and came across the Roll A Nest and saw reviews. Thought I'd add my own. Despite the potential of there being body fluids & feces in it while cleaning, it's still an excellent choice & the critters love it. it's made for them & that should be what's important, that they enjoy what we buy them.

When I bought my Guinea Pigs, I also bought this to give them an extra place to hide in. They hide in it all the time and cuddle in it, and it's hard to get them out without bribing them with cucumber. Bottomline is that they love it!
The only bad thing is they urinate and go to the bathroom in it all the time, so it's a bit gross to clean, but still a good product.

My russian dwarf hamster LOVED it. I bred my dwarfs and the father died the day the babies were born. So once he died, i gave the ball to my girl dwarf. Her names Mama, and she gave birth to 7 babies in it. But eventually she took them out of it and i took the ball out and threw it away. she made a nest where the ball was.

I have a hamster who does not like to chew very much, and she loves her Roll-A-Nest.

I have gerbils who destroy these is seconds. I gave one to Roo, my single gerbil and she had it gone in no time at all! The one I gave to the pair of gerbils was shredded in less time!

While my hammy uses hers quite often - curling up inside as best she can to nap, the gerbils all used the bits and pieces to make their own comfy nests with, after demolishing them.

I'm pretty sure these were discontinued at my local store, and that disappoints me. I will be unable to immediately replace my hammy's Nest once it finally falls apart.

My Robo Dwarf hamsters loved their roll-a nest and slept in it every day. I think it really made them feel comforted. However, after having it for a couple months, we started to notice that their cage was really smelly. This had never been a problem before, and we didn't get lax in cleaning their cage or anything. Last night, when I was cleaning it out (again), I realized that it was the nest!!! It smelled horrible, to the point that I can't believe they were still sleeping in it! Maybe it just needs to be replaced more often, but I'm going to look at more lasting options.

I recently bought two Russian Dwarf hamsters, and while I was at the pet store, although I had most everything the hamsters needed, I decided to pick up one of these to give them another place to sleep and hide. Once we were at home and they were set up, they both immediately crawled into the Roll-A Nest. I considered it a good buy, until it came time to clean the cage. It wasn't until after I dragged them out of the nest that I realized how much urine and feces was in this thing. I pulled all the stuffing out and threw that away and then attempted to dislodge the remaining pellets by beating the nest against the side of the trashcan, and while that worked well enough, I can only imagine the amount of urine this thing had soaked up. I'm giving it two stars, one for each hamster because of how much they loved the Roll A-Nest. I finally threw it out today, after nine days of use, and hooked up some fancier tubing and accessories and am just today seeing these two hamsters active for the first time since I got them. They've been exploring the new areas, chewing chews, tasting treats and running in their wheel, all things I hadn't seem them do when they were cooped up in the old nest, but now, despite two choices of sleeping area, they're both curled up on the floor of the cage, sleeping in the corner where their Roll A-Nest used to be.

Good toy/hideout for Guinea Pigs

We had one of these for our piggies a few months ago. It lasted about 2 months before it unraveled to the point of uselessness; but while it lasted it was definitely a favorite resting place for both of our piggies. For the price, I wish it had lasted longer, but that is my only complaint about it (and the only reason i didn't give it five stars). It won't take the place of the pigloo, for sure; but my piggies get one of these about twice a year, and enjoy it immensely until it's destroyed!

my two gerbil midnight and cinnamon love it they shredded the nest in just 2 days and madea nice little nest with their bedding and the grassy good night stuff

My mouse LOVED this nest. It was one of the first things we bought him, and it was one of the only things that he never got tired of :)
Unfortunately, he passed away in this nest this past january-but I know he's much happier now that he's not in pain anymore :) (he had a tumor)

My mice love nesting in it. However, you can not clean it and my mice are messy little things. So, you will just have to throw it out after a while of using.

i bought this a couple days ago for my winter white Bell, and she loved it! it nice that it comes with a sample of grassy goodnight and that its free! Bell (my hammy) sleeps in it a lot you cant even tell she is in there!for cleaning, you just have to shake it out but i dont care. I would totally recomend this product!

Pros: edible, nice price!, perfect sleep hut, free sample!

I bought this as a hay holder for my rabbit :) It is not for its intended purpose, but I like it better this way. My rabbit really enjoys the idea and I don't have to worry about her stepping on food or making hay flying everywhere.

Good privacy shelter

Hamster hides in this nest after cage clean outs. Seems to like the privacy of putting her head in here even if her butt is sticking out!

Notice she uses this more when we use corn cat litter instead of wood chips in her cage. Given a choice of using the nest of burying herself in pine chips she seems to go for the latter.

Pros: nice privacy nest, acts a chew toy and nest

Cons: have to shake it out when cleaning

I gave this to my sister's hamster and her hamster had a very fun time in it. The only bad part is that it get's really messy after awhile.
